Ralph's on the Park Ratings and Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our first time at Ralph’s. It was romantic and my husband was particularly touched by the personalised menu highlighting his birthday. It was too dark for us to enjoy the views but they did look pretty, even in the dark. My husband enjoyed his oysters but sadly the shrimp toast did not go down a treat for myself. A lot of bread and in my view the potatoes were unnecessary and lacked any flavour. It reminded me of sesame prawn toast that you can order from a Chinese restaurant. The whole fish, creme brûlée and flourless chocolate cake, however, were divine and I would return for these alone. Our staff were also very attentive. Thank you for a memorable time!
We (2) have been to Ralph's on the Park many times and found it to be a wonderful experience each time. We enjoy the atmosphere, service, and the quality of preparation in our food and drink. Each of us had an enjoyable cocktail followed by wine from a good selection. We both had excellent fish dinners. Nicole, our server, did a wonderful job and was very attentive and aware of our needs during the meal.
We go to Ralph’s at the park often. We had Sunday brunch and we were somewhat disappointed in the food. There were four of us. Two enjoyed their meal very much. But, the shrimp and grits was not good. The grits were watery and the shrimp was “ bbq shrimp”; unpeeled and swimming in sauce. This was not the classic New Orleans dish that we had expected. This was an exception so, we will return as our previous dining experiences at Ralph’s have been great.
Went for Sunday brunch to celebrate my birthday and Ralph's did not disappoint. The bottomless champagne and the 3-course meal were delicious and delightful! The views from every window of the centuries-old oaks draped with Spanish moss were beautiful. It seemed that lots of people were celebrating special occasions yet the noise was muted and we were able to have a conversation, unlike many places I've been lately. Highly recommend.
My husband and I went to Ralph's on the Park for our anniversary. We had made a reservation and when they seated us they gave us a specially printed menu with our anniversary on the top. We also received a complimentary glass of champagne. The food was delicious and the service phenomenal. The views of City Park are wonderful and the ambience was terrific. I highly recommend Ralph's on the Park.
We went to Ralph's for a pre-theatre dinner. The service was excellent and so was the food. We were in and out in about an hour. My wife had the BBQ Gulf Shrimp and they offered fully peeled the shrimp which she asked about. The gumbo is as rich and dark as any I've had anywhere. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. A real dining pleasure.
Fantastic Happy Hour with Joe Krown playing piano. Romantic but chic atmosphere at the bar, beautiful view of the park, fabulous Mardi Gras cocktail, delicious small plates for $5 (though the portions were so large we never made it to dinner after the gumbo poutine). Just love everything about Ralph’s.
Service was excellent / got the 20oz Cowboy Steak / presentation beautiful / steak was terrible, nothing but fat and gristle, portions very small / ambiance was excellent.
Sorry not returning / maybe we got the wrong item/ had a huge crowd......,terrible.....,
My date and I shared the steak dinner for two. It was not a good value. The menu stated 22oz steak, I thought I was ordering a boneless steak, but the bone in the steak weighed at least 10oz. This was not a good value, not much edible meat. I will go back but not for the steak.
Brunch menu needs an update. The brunch menu items have been the same for the past 3 years. Bring back the endless mimosas during special occasions like Easter sunday, New Years eve, etc. Our server was very polite and professional however she lacked in the service area. Very slow.
Wanted a restaurant for not only good food, but a place our friends from Europe would get to appreciate it’s local flavor and away from the craziness of the French Quarter. It more than accomplished our expectations. One in our party was celebrating his birthday which we were not aware until that night, so our server, Nicole, surprised him with a dessert with a candle. We all felt the restaurant was a wonderful experience.
We were just of the American Queen River boat and had a choice of this restaurant and several others. We chose this one and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, Service beyond compare, and the atmosphere very conducive for a romantic evening with my lovely wife. It was the perfect end for our 8 day cruise.
Our first visit to Ralph’s was after Celebration in the Oaks in City Park. We scored reservations for 6 with OpenTable for 9:30 and arrived to a packed house. We had to wait a little longer for our table, but considering that every table was filled with people celebrating the holiday and they brought us some boudin balls, the extra few minutes was no big deal.
Once seated, we started with the Steak Tartar, which I endeavor to sample whenever I find it on the menu. We shared it among the table with the boudin balls. Both appetizers were delicious and we moved on to soups and salads. The Turtle Soup is a signature dish here and did not disappoint. The Cream of Mushroom was the best we’ve ever tasted, and the wedge salad was up to par.
Our entrees were all amazing, but standouts included the Rabbit Jaegerschnitzel and the Cowboy Ribeye for Two. If you have any appreciation for rabbit, then this dish is a must.
Due to our late start, we closed down the restaurant, but managed to squeeze in the Chocolate Doberge for dessert along with some of the best coffee (French Press) that accompanied it perfectly.
If you want a fine dining experience when you’re near City Park, definitely give Ralph’s some serious consideration.
