Ralph's on the Park Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I had a destination wedding in New Orleans on December 2nd. We did not get alot, if any, time to ourselves until the Tuesday afternoon after and we left Thursday afternoon to go back to Chicago. I wanted to plan a special dinner for us for our last night in town and out of all our trips we hadn't really had a chance to experience City Park yet so I thought this would be the perfect place for us and they did not disappoint!!
We were seats immediately and our server, Malory, welcomed us with a glass of champagne which was very nice. My husband had a cup of the gumbo and I tried the Parmesan oysters. My husband said the gumbo was one of the best he had and the oysters were absolutely delicious. For our main course, I had the filet with shrimp and my husband had the tuna with crab. There was an issue with my husband's meal and Malory immediately was so apologetic and corrected it and the Manager, David, came over and apologized as well. We completely understand that issues happen sometimes, it's all about how the restaurant responds and I there's no way we could have asked for a better response than what we received. It was absolutely more than we expected. At the end of the meal and as a surprise we received 4 of their deserts which were absolutely awesome!
We honestly could not have asked for a better last meal in NOLA to celebrate the end of our wedding trip. Thank you so much to Malory and David, everything was amazing, the food/ drinks and service. I recommend anyone visit for a memorable experience. We are already planning a trip back to NOLA to celebrate our anniversary and this will definitely be one of our stops!!
We usually have a great meal at Ralph's, but my meal was disappointing. The oysters Parmesan appetizer was bland so I only ate two of the six oysters. Also I love the thin fries with aioli sauce and I was very disappointed with the thick steak frites . Also too bad the butternut squash bisque wasn't on the menu
Wonderful romantic atmosphere with a beautiful view of the park. We decided to meet with family(party of 8) before enjoying "Celebration in the Oaks". The food was delicious espeacially the crabmeat beignets appetizer, the pork entree and to die for bread pudding.
The only problem I had was I made a reservation for 4:15, my party arrived at 4:00. They were not ready for us. However, the hostess came passs twice saying a table needed to be cleared. I could see several tables ready. We were not seated until a member of my party spoke to the manager. It was 4:40.
The ambiance, decor, location, service and attention to detail are stellar.
The valet driver, the hostess, and Deseree' our server could not have been kinder and more accommodating.

Great experience from start to finish. Our server greeted us by name when arriving to the table for the first time, offered fantastic recommendations, taught us the history & inspiration for the traditional New Orleans dishes we ordered, and was always very attentive to the pace of our meal. My wife and I will be returning for another date night soon.
Great Sunday brunch. Nice choices. Food arrived hot and was delicious. Service a bit slow, but they were very busy. Chose this place as it offered jazz piano music, did not hear any in dining room. Discovered you must be in bar to hear the music, which was a bit disappointing.
Other than that, great and our out of town guests loved it.
We live just around the corner from Ralph's and have eaten at this location several dozen times. Unfortunately this meal was not that memorable. The appetizers were fine, tried and true we had the City Park salad and some fried oysters. The turtle soup is wonderful as well. For dinner we had the Visiting fish (Bass) that was fine , not "WoW!" but fine ,we also had the Pompano with a cauliflower sauce. The pompano was over cooked and the sauce was well...bad. Pompano is such a New Orleans dish that messing it up very unfortunate.
As usual the service was great and the building and dinning room are wonderful. I do suggest if it is your first time avoid the Pompano. If you are a regular please keep and eye on the quality as I would hate it if happened again.
We had a very important business meal here at Ralphs and they simply nailed it. Ellen is a spectacular server: attentive, charming, funny, knowing when to pop in during conversation and when to give us space. The food was a hit with the group of out of towners, I had the lamb dish which was outstanding. The view of the park was amazing. This is a neighborhood gem we are lucky to have in Mid City, perfect for all occasions. Thank you all!
