Consistently, delicious Indian food. Fresh with rich flavor.
Awesome! I celebrated my birthday there. They brought me a dessert with a candle and sang Happy Birthday! People were very nice. Refilled my water promptly without being asked. I would recommend this place. Food was delicious.
Expensive and not very good. Service was excellent.
Met my daughter and her family who were visiting from out of town. Her kids were a bit noisy but the restaurant was empty at 5:00 and only had about five parties at 5:30 so we didn't disturb too many people. The staff was very friendly but a bit hard to understand.
Chaotic experience. Appetizers arrived quickly but main course took ages to arrive. Seemed unable to handle number of diners - and only about half full.
The restaurant was unable to seat us. They were overwhelmed and did not even know we had made a reservation.
Very nice, quiet, can dine outside if you like, and the staff were very nice.
Great experience. Great food. They always treat us like neighbors!
Great food and outstanding service. Meal portions were very large and we all left feeling stuffed.
This was an almost comically bad experience. I ordered a coke and we went to the all you can eat buffet. I never received my coke and never again saw a waiter until we got our check. We never got our water glasses filled. We found half of the food items out by our second visit to the buffet. The rice pudding was spoiled!!!! Yuck. Food that was available was unremarkable or not very good. Very disappointed.
A very nice stand-by for people who enjoy authentic Indian food.
The food and restaurant were OK - but unremarkable. I would not avoid it, but given the choice, I'd try another place before going back.
We had a wonderful meal with a bottle of wine for under $100. If it were in my neighborhood, I would be a regular.
Great meal and great value
Rajaji has been a noteworthy restaurant over many years. I dined there several times in years past and was delighted to find it is still excellent. I had lamb korba. At my request I wanted a dish only slightly spicy. This was perfect. The service and concern for the diner were outstanding. I was glad to be back!
I have been dining at the Rajaji for more than 20 years , whenever business or pleasure takes me to DC. An Indian colleague introduced me to this restaurant. The food is authentic and well prepared. The breads are baked fresh, on site. The service is warm, courteous and professional. The pace is relaxed - geared towards dining rather than getting you in and out in a hurry. Enjoy a Taj Mahal beer or two. Prices are very reasonable by DC standards.
Our party of six included four who have never dined in and Indian restaurant before. They came away raving about the food and the service.
The restaurant is conveniently located across the street from the Woodley Park Metro Stop. The neighborhood is full of life.
We enjoyed great food! Management was pleasant! No complaints. We will be returning!
Consistently quality, delicious meals!! A neighborhood gem.
I had planned to have a nice business dinner with an out of town friend. We got there early and were seated and nicely attended to by the staff. Their big question was "tell us what you would like." With that my friend suggested two different dishes, they suggested a way for us to have it all. When I ordered it, they recommended my having less as the balance would be more favorable. We stayed and talked for three hours and were never hurried (we did apologize for staying so long, they seemed genuinely pleased that we liked it so much that we did stay). I am looking forward to going back. AND the food was nicely presented, tasted good and complimented each other!
I went on time and the doors were locked. You need to be sure not to confirm reservations to restaurants that are closed.
Fresh delicious food. Very consistent in taste. Great also for vegetarians. Always a pleasure. A neighborhood gem
The interior was dark and had a slight odor. We were lucky it was a warm day and the outside seating was great. We noticed that all but one set of diners choose to eat outside. The food was tasteful and the servings were generous however both of our meals were served luke-warm. The staff was very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant and next time sent my food back if it isn't hot.
Invited friends and all agreed that the food was delicious! We were happy that they were happy. Consistently good.
It was good, if not great Indian food: Pleasant service. A bit expensive at $30 (nearly including tip) for lunch - the buffet would probably have been the better choice.
Food is always fresh tasting also great choice for vegetarians.
Had a delicious, fresh, authentic India dinner here. Always consistent. Service is good, staff is quiet, not talkative but attentive and accomodating.
We went to the Sunday buffet. The buffet had five or six choices pluses a couple side dishes. The food was good but not great. The price $11 is very reasonable for DC.
This used to be my neighborhood Indian place when I lived in DC. The interior has a terrible odor. As if the carpet got wet and wasn't properly cleaned afterwards. The food was pretty good. I got chicken tikka masala. However, the palak paneer was not good at all. I hate that this place isn't what it used to be.
We've always enjoyed eating here and return frequently. Authentic Indian food with tender meat options. Good vegetarian selection. Staff is a bit quiet but pleasant and attentive.
