Everything about The Raintree made our anniversary dinner very special.
Excellent everything! My husband had the lamb chops which he said were the best ever. I had the grouper with champagne lobster sauce. My fish was scrumptious. The sides were delicious, and the mixed berry crepe we shared for dessert was sinfully decadent, therefore we licked the plate clean. Our favorite St. Augustine eatery!
This was not our first time, we always enjoy dining here, I'm sure we will be back, one of our favorites in St. Augustine.
Sorely disappointed. I could buy the packaged ingredients in my meal from Publix and have assembled them just as well. Overpriced for what I got.
Was a great atmosphere and delicious food. Part buffet part made to order yummy egg dishes.
Even though I was coming out from under the weather we, my husband and I, had a great brunch experience that helped make Mother’s day a real treat.
We went for Mother’s Day Brunch. It was our first visit. I was impressed/intrigued by the 4.5 star rating.
Upon arrival we were not disappointed, the courtyard is charming and quaint. However upon entering the restaurant it was dark and cramped. After being seated, it became even more clear that everything is dated and/or in need of repair.
The food was decent. Hot food was prepared well. Breads and cakes on their buffet were dry and stale from sitting out too long. Pasta salads were good. Bloody Mary also good. But not $9 good.
Servers were nice.
Overall we were not dissatisfied but likely would not return. We felt it was overpriced @ $73 for 2 adults, 1 child +tip.
The Mothers' Day brunch entree selections were all fine. However, I have mixed feelings about the buffet portion. The lobster bisque was very tasty but the three salad selections were - meh! Quite uninspiring.
We have been long-time and satisfied customers of Raintree for dinner, but will look elsewhere for brunch options in the future.
If visiting St. Augustine do not miss the opportunity to eat at the Raintree. Food was excellent & service was great. Truly an overall great experience.
Food was ok but nothing that would want you to go back the next night. Never been to a restaurant that didn't serve bread with dinner. Upon asking server, answer was that they had a problem with baker six months ago. I would love to see that reply in Chicago or NYC
I am sorry to say that my filet was sub par and the fish portions were small.... $30 for a small piece of grouper, rice and veggies was underwhelming. Caps is a much better value for the same prices. The outside area is tired and my requested gazebo location was not honored.
I also received an email from open table saying we were a no show.
Absolutely fantastic! The food, the service, the location, shuttle service & intimate table. I made a reservation to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary & a complimentary shuttle even picked us up at our hotel. We were wished Happy Anniversary by not only the host but also our waiter. They even gave us a nice hand written card. We were able to be seated in an imitate table outside under a gazebo. I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi with rice, veggies & a salad. My wife loved the Raintree salad which she added Ahi Tuna. The waiter even kindly got here a little sample of the goat cheese mash potatoes off the "daily special".
Awesome pepper steak. Great waiter. Best meal in St Augustine
Really enjoyed my seafood thermidor and my wife loved the rack of lamb. Lobster bisque was very tasty and the crème brulee was to die for. Salad just ok. Waitress was excellent but sounds of conversations carried through the room. Not very cozy. Would go back again to enjoy the cuisine. Really good.
Wonderful food and service!
The food was fair. Based on reviews, we expected better quality.
Raintree was not recommended to me but I thought we would try it. Our waiter was not very friendly. Acted like I was bothering him. They also add the tip in the bill which my husband forgot so our waiter got a double tip for not being so great. The food however was great! We enjoyed our meals thoroughly. May go back for the food and hope for a better server.
Service was great, as was the food.
The staff was friendly and prompt.
Really enjoyed the restaurant. Great food and service. Didn’t appreciate the auto 15% tip added to the bill. I normally tip 20 when I get very good service but really take exception to the practice of automatically adding. I didn’t add the extra 5%
We ate here our first night in St Augustine and it made me wish I was a native and could come back again and again. The food was cooked perfectly and presented to us promptly. The waiter gave us lots of good suggestions. I had the shrimp and lobster pasta and my husband had the beef Wellington. Both were delicious.
We have dined at Raintree over the years and have always been glad for it. Many of the staff have been there for years which attests to the incredible service. I've always felt it is more of a locals' restaurant than a tourist destination, and I've always appreciated the ability to make a reservation. Too many restaurants have diminished the dining experience by not doing so. We had an exceptional meal with special visitors on a day when the weather was an issue and everything was flawless. Thank you once again, Raintree.
The crispy duck is to die for! My husband and I ate here 10 years ago and he had the crispy duck and said it was the best he'd ever had (I try not to be insulted by this!). So of course when we made a recent trip back to the area, the Raintree was an obvious choice for dinner. Husband said the duck was just how he remembered it and still the best!
Food was Excellent as was the service. Lovely home setting for a restaurant too.
we were on vacation staying at the doubletree and could walk to this wonderful old cozy house.
Unfortunately it was raining because the patio looked amazing.
Service outstanding and food delicious. would try to eat there anytime in St Augustine
From the moment I stepped in, and to the moment I left the experience was fabulous!
The food was to die for..... more like orgasmic!
Raintree did not disappoint. Excellent ambiance, food and service.
The food was great and the staff was very attentive. All around a wonderful experience
We went because a friend recommended - never again. Disappointed because we didn’t realize there was a limited menu because of It being Easter. Not that big of a deal, everyone still found something but the food was barely mediocre, the portions were small/certainly not worth how much was paid. Service.... we all were certain our waiter was high.
Everything about our dining experience was amazing - we were seated as soon as we arrived, our waiter was helpful, friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable and the food was superb. The four people in our party all ordered something different and each one of us raved about our meal. The whole experience made our Easter dinner memorable.
We had Easter Brunch here. I would say it was just ok. With the breakfast items you got a buffet and with lunch you didn't. I opted for the Benedict Arnold - poached eggs, sausage patty and mushrooms with sauce. I got 5 mushrooms - why bother - they were not canned mushrooms. The buffet included rolls that looked seriously good, but were incredibly hard, a lobster bisque with very little lobster, the smallest mini muffins ever, and butter cookies from a tin! It has a nice ambience but it step up the food.
We had brunch. I had quiche and the crust was so soggy I couldn't eat it. My husband had Croque Madam. He ordered the egg over easy and it was cooked over hard. These aren't complex dishes so I don't know why they can't get it right. Buffet was just OK. Lobster bisque soup was way too salty. The ambiance and service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and very personable.
My wife and I had an awesome dinner at Raintree. We had fresh Flounder and Eggplant. Both were excellent and our server was outstanding.
Raintree is a very big restaurant, capable of accommodating you even in very busy times. Their food is generally high quality, but their menu is becoming a bit stale and their execution uneven. It used to be excellent always; now it varies.
We had a great meal. Laszlo was an excellent server and we had a super table. Very nice evening.
This was our 2nd visit to st. Augustine and we made it a point to dine here again. The food, atmosphere, and service was as good as I anticipated. My husband enjoyed his lamb chops and I had the Mahi grilled. The accompaniments were delicious as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food very average, nothing special for the price
Excellent food and ambiance. Travis the waiter was outstanding. 5 stars
Some friends came down from Jacksonville to help us celebrate our 40th anniversary. All four of us loved the menu selections, sangria, beer and dessert. We loved the ambiance, historical atmosphere and big picture windows with views. We can't wait to go back again!!!!
Our visit was delightful. Raintree was lovely and reminded of stepping back in time in some of the inns I have experienced in Saratoga, or upstate NY. The menu had many options and our party of 4 was very pleased. I had the Beef Wellington which was delicious and I would definitely order again because it is so rare to see it on a menu. All of us had dessert and the Bread Pudding was the winner in our opinion. We would definitely visit again.
Overall was very good however we sat inside and was very noisy which was kind of hard to hear the other couple we were with. Service was very good and friendly.
Food was very good as well. Will definitely come back and eat here again.
