Rainbow Ranch dining is modern, rustic, relaxed and refined, with unsurpassed views of the majestic Gallatin River. House made specialties such as duck prosciutto, smoked bacon and house cured salami's are enhanced by our award-winning wine list and hand-crafted, barrel-aged cocktails in an environment as inviting as its Big Sky Country backdrop.
Outstanding in every way - attentive, kind and enthusiastic service. The grounds and ambiance need no superfluous words; situated perfectly along the river with a rustic yet refined aesthetic. The dinner was absolutely delicious with a wine pairing and bonus celebratory candled dessert.
Gotta shoot straight. Sea bass special was a tiny portion. Pork tomahawk wasn’t bad. Drinks were very good. I wouldn’t offer the grilled octopus or the grilled romaine salad. They just weren’t good. Overall not what I expected based on the rating.
We dined right at 5pm. The staff was not ready, waited to be approached even though we were the only table in there and the kitchen music was louder than the dining room music. Food was inconsistent. We had two dishes that were wonderful and two that were not good.
Food and drinks were delicious. The service was top notch. Will definitely dine there again.
We had high expectations based on the previous reviews but our experience was disappointing. There was live music and it was impossible to have a conversation while having dinner. We ordered salads to start and they were average at best. I ordered a halibut and I had to return it. I got the very end of the tail, the fish was overcooked, dry and the mushrooms sauce was extremely salty. The parsnip puree was barely smeared at the bottom of the plate, it was an overall disappointing dish. I will not be coming back.
Terrible from start to finish.
Absolutely wonderful - ambiance, food, service, wine list & smoked Manhattans!
Cozy setting, delicious meal! Tables were spaced well and staff was masked and courteous. The sea bass was quite good, as was my beet salad. Good, but not overly big, portions. Highly recommend.
FABULOUS dinner! The best in our week long vacation to Big Sky! My slow cooked pork belly appetizer was amazing, as was the pan seared sea bass. Others at our table raved about the filet and the winter squash risotto. We had a nice table by the window, near the fireplace. Everything was lovely. The only thing missing was ranch for the kids chicken nuggets. Couldn’t any chef whip that up?!
Amazing!!! Went twice in a week. Best restaurant around by far.
Rainbow Ranch has become our favorite restaurant, not only in the Big Sky area but of any we have been to! Brian, their new chef, is amazing and blends flavors and textures in ways I have seldom seen done before. Try the burrata - best I have ever had and likewise the octopus was out of this world. Darla, our bartender and sometime server, knows how to mix drinks and is always helpful - and Scott the new GM is I think driving Rainbow Ranch to new levels of service and hospitality despite all the Covid challenges. Though getting to Rainbow Ranch can be a bit of a pain from the mountain village, it is very much worth doing!
We had a vey nice family Christmas Eve dinner. They gave us a private room, excellent service and the food was delicious.
Very friendly and professional staff. The bison tartare and the beet salad options are so amazing!!
Special ran out before we ordered at 6:30
We were told the same line as the night before when the table wasn’t ready that they just had a rush. No one ordered from when we sat down to being told the special is out.
Great dinner loved the food, asked for a napkin 3 times and didn’t get one.
Best farm to table I’ve been to.
Mushroom salad was amazing everything was excellent
It was a a short drive from the Big Sky ski area, but well worth the trip. The food was exquisite! Our waiter/server was excellent and all in all, they were on top of everything.
Waitress was not very informative. She did not give us us the specials of the day and did not tell me there was meat in the split pea soup even though I told her I don’t eat meat.
Dining here is always a great experience! The food is creative and thoughtfully prepared. The service is excellent. Also, the staff are diligent about wearing their masks.
First time there. Wonderful. Will definitely be back
Heidi was an amazing service. Food was excellent. Wine list is best in Big Sky.
The chef is amazing and i would highly reccomend stopping in for a bite to eat.
Great dinner, fine service.
Best Filet we’ve ever had! Everything was delicious. As we were overnight guests, breakfast was included, they were outstanding as well!
Although highly recommended, our meal was mediocre. The ceviche was fishy and suspect. The duck was good, and the bison tasty. The surroundings and views, however, are worth a meal, just moderate your expectations. I realize they are trying to adjust to challenging circumstances, so have cut the restaurant some slack.
This restaurant and lodge is first class. A real gem
Great food great view great service
What a GREAT place to celebrate my 68 birthday. Hostess was super, she sat us outside overlooking the river— super view. Our server, Cameron couldn’t have been better. He was inventive, well informed, and very personable. He recommended a wonderful wine that paired well with my trout. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and timed to arrive just when we were ready.
Highly recommend this place. Just wish we would have found the Rainbow Ranch as a place to stay as well as dine.
The lodge and grounds were beautiful. Sat outside and enjoyed the view. Food was good I had the filet that was delicious, my husband had the short rib special and it was ok a little tough.
Cold food oversalted , slow service,
Untrained staff
Chef Brian Wood did a fantastic job. We loved the food and the service.
Basic older restaurant trying to be upscale with very small portions our 45$ steak was honestly appetizer sized. Went there to book for a large group in the future. We decided against it and won’t be back.
Incredible. Fabulous. Epic
Gorgeous setting. Everything was delicious and our server was attentive, helpful and super friendly! Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Rainbow Ranch Lodge. Our table on the deck overlooked the beautiful Gallatin River on a perfect weather evening. The entrees we chose (halibut and a salmon special) were exquisitely prepared, and were literal unique flavor bursts! The grilled romaine salad was delicious too! A certain “must visit” for Big Sky Area travelers and locals!
We sat out on the porch with the moon rising over the mountains... our meal was delicious!
Amazing everything! Cameron our sweet server was amazing! Such a wonderful young man. Food superb! We love this place!!
Delightful setting. We arrived early and got drinks in the bar and wandered the property. The Roth Cabernet was very good. Grilled Romaine salad and awesome Spinach soup. The filets were excellent but not warm so they heated and replated them. Our server also provided a complimentary dessert and two drinks to make amends. It was an exceptional dinner.
Incredible ambiance, service, and food by the Gallatin River. Can’t beat this experience!
The food was fantastic, service was impeccable. Great menu! We will definitely return.
