Always a fantastic dining experience. Been going there for 20 years and have never had anything less than a wonderful, delicious experience. Have brought everyone we know to try it and every single person has raved and gone back. Spectacular restaurant in every way.
This is the 3rd time in the last 2 months I've been to Rainbow Palace. My daughter's Birthday was thus day and here is where she wanted to go. It was delicious, as usual! We had the special wonton soup and the calamari, along with a lychee martini, mai tai, and the guys had beer. Then for our entrees we had Duck with asparagus and mushrooms, sweet and sour chicken special, scallops dish and the vegetable lomein! Everything was outstanding, including the service! Beautiful ambiance. The waiter brought Lindsay a piece of delicious hazelnut chocolate pie with a candle. I'm sure we'll be back again soon!
Regrettably, this fine restaurant had perhaps a bed night. The food was OK, not great, but the service was terrible. We had to ask at least once where each order was. Waiter was just not attentive. In fairness, he had a full compliment of tables to take care of, but there was really no excuse for the poor service. The drinks were one the verge of being overpriced and the desserts were overpriced and mediocre, at best. I have been frequenting this establishment for over 20 years and hope that tonight was aberrational.
After seeing this restaurant make the Top 100 list in America we had to try it after all these years. It did not impress me from a food standpoint. Service was great with table side cart service. Having lived in the CA Bay Area, the Asian food out there is amazing. From a food standpoint this would not be anywhere near the top of any list. Had the food been outstanding the price would have been acceptable, but this subpar food is way overpriced. I'm not one to write a negative review but I don't know what people are thinking with this one.
Wow that was the best Asian cuisine I have ever had in my life! The steak was amazing and the sauce that goes with it is tantalizing to your tongue! Every bite is more savoring than the last. I already have plans to come back. The only regret I have is not coming here sooner!
One of the best Asian cuisine in Fort Lauderdale Fl
Food is always fantastic. Waiters are excellent
Have been eating at this restaurant for many years, never a bad meal
The best Chinese restaurant in town!!! The staff and the place it's perfect!!!
I was the only one of our group that had been there. It had been quite awhile and I was happy to see all my favorites were still available, like the scallop appetizer and the spring rolls. Our main server was Eddie, he was great! Professional but not stuffy. He suggested we plate the appetizers separately, easier to eat.
Everything was excellent! The lemon chicken, crispy beef, spicy fried rice were prepared perfectly.
We had ordered the last bottle of a particular wine. Eddie made a great suggestion for our second.
My friends had a great time...we will definitely return.
Nice find. More of a cross between a Chinese and mainstream restaurant (aka not necessarily a typical "sharing" menu). Not a huge menu, which is okay with me. Food was excellent. Ambience great. Service was very exceptional. We will definitely go back again. Cozy and upscale.
Starting with the wonderful food smell our tastebuds began to salivate as soon as we entered the restaurant. The organs flavor beef and the duck with asparagus were amazing as always. The chefs Lo mein was not up to its usual standard.
There was an elderly group of 6 who were seated next to us during dining and they were demanding all of the waiters time so that may explain the lo mein being served off temperature. We can’t wait until the Canadians go back north along with their moth ball smelling clothes.
Normally e give all tens but the clientele tonight ( totally out of control of the restaurant) impacted the experience
Truly an anomaly so we can’t wait to go back again.
Perfect Evening, Service & Food
This is my new favorite restaurant. Everything here is perfect. The dining room and bar are totally charming. Even though the dining room is open, the set up of the room makes each dining table intimate. The wait staff is incredibly detailed, friendly, professional and enthusiastic about assisting you to have your best meal. I love that the wait staff is very helpful in making sure you get your best meal. Frequently, I just tell them things I like or tastes I like and they make amazing recommendations. Even the simple vegetable soup is outstanding! Spring rolls are feather light. Most options are already made gluten free. You have to come more than once so you can try everything on the menu like the crispy duck or crispy steak. You’ve never had fried rice before until you try it here and then you will be ruined for life!!! Reservations are definitely recommended otherwise you are likely not going to be able to walk in. This is the ONLY place I will ever have Chinese again.
Outstanding restaurant. We will be back soon and often
Great food !!
Wow! Everything was absolutely perfect. Elegant decor, excellent meals, beautiful ambiance and attention to the utmost of details! The only thing better than the food, which was incredibly delicious, was the staff - so well mannered, dressed wonderfully and everyone displayed incredibly personable attitudes! This was my second visit and now I will be a regular, returning frequently. From the moment I walked through their classy double doors, I was greeted by a gentleman that I would presume was the owner. He clearly remembered me from the last time I was here which was several months ago. Wow! From the first second throughout my entire visit I was so delighted! Excellent!!!
I highly recommend this place as a perfect hot spot & a place you take someone you want to impress!
Food and service never disappoint!!
We met the owner. Super nice guy. The food was average. As we are from Montreal and have amazing Chinese food. Our taste buds are jaded.
Best restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, great people and food. I probably go there 4 -6 times a month.
Very pricey. Everything was a la cart. Not the best value. Crispy Duck Grand Marnier was not crispy and not worth $34. The Orange Beef was mediocre and not worth $28. The Chefs Fried Rice was ok and plentiful but not worth $19. When my wife brought home the leftover rice, the one plump shrimp she saved was gone. The bus came over and topped off my glass of Perrier with ice water before I had a chance to stop him. When I pointed out the Perrier ice bucket he was standing next to, he winced and apologized. The one bright spot was the chocolate Kahlua cake which was dreamy. Don't think I'll return.
Excellent as always. The Duck Soup was outstanding.
Food was excellent. More expensive than your regular local Chinese restaurant but well worth the extra money. Everything we ordered was top notch. We will definitely return.
Paul is the best waiter at Rainbow Palace! The food is amazing! I go just about every week!
Absolutely delicious! We had the special fried rice, lemon chicken, and orange beef. Doesn’t get better in South Florida for Chinese Food!
Best in town.. Not exactly typical Chinese
Great ambience, location and service. Food is good but not great. Dishes are kind of in a time warp. They need to freshen up their menu and lighten up their sauces. They most definitely need more vegetarian soups, dishes and appetizers. Their prices are high, but that doesn't seem to bother their patrons as they have been around quite a while. There really is not great Chinese food in South Florida that we have found. The food here is always fresh, they just need some new innovation in their dishes and appetizers. Their sauces all tasted similar and as i said, they need more vegetarian choices in each menu category.
Excellent food and service. I always come when in town. I’m from NY.
They charged us $5 per pot of tea on the bill. What Chinese restaurant charges for tea, especially without telling us first? Everything was overpriced, in my opinion. There was almost no lobster in the shrimp and lobster dumplings. The waiter was attentive, but they pre portion out your servings, so you can't share on your own, at the table.
From the moment we arrived, we were rushed by a condescending waiter. He gave me a face when I asked him to repeat the specials making it clear he was none too happy. The same look was made when my friend and I passed on cocktails and opted for hot tea only. It was a chilly rainy night so hot tea was perfect.
My yellowtail special had no seasoning so was tasteless. It was tender but extremely disappointing and rather expensive. I ate a small amount and left most on my plate. Had the server asked, I would have told him it was not to my liking and why. Thankfully the house wonton was excellent but I shall probably not return anytime soon.
Rainbow Palace remained our special neighborhood restaurant for 10 years until 1998 when we relocated out of state. Until our return to Ft Lauderdale in 2013 we would continue to visit on frequent return visits to the area; and have continued more frequent visits since our return to the area. Our recent visit on December 19, 2019 was prompted by identification of the restaurant being included in the “Top 100 US Category”. Our entire experience for the evening remained as it has always been over the prior 30 years leaving us to wonder why it took so long for this recognition. Young wait staff from our early experiences are today’s senior management and Maitre Di, contributing to the personalized attention to the details of each dining experience. The delicacy of cuisine flavors equals and surpasses anything we have experienced in our most recent visit to Singapore and Shanghai.
I had heard good things and hoped we found a new go to place for Chinese . Sorry to say sharing the steak, rice had 2
Apps - wonton soup at 7.00 not to fill the bowl and lobster/ shrimp dumplings, which were very good and 2 drinks and a coke - 165 .00 . The steak was over cooked the rice fair
The soup bland. I live in NY and have the very best Chinese restaurants available and not pay this. I will say the service was good except waiting 10 minutes for a coke - not going back
The only problem I have is I like to bring my wines to a restaurant and pay a corking fee, I was told you don't allow this and this is a real problem for me. I suggest you change your policy.
This restaurant never disappoints. The atmosphere, service and food is elegant traditional with innovative chef preparation.
We eat here regularly when we are in Fort Lauderdale. Lots of regulars that love great Chinese food. Deep wine list as well. Highly rated.
I have been going to the Rainbow Palace for a number of years. They never stray from being the consummate professionals. From the moment you are greeted at the door until the time you are acknowledged and thanked when you leave. A true pleasurable dining experience.
The Food has always been phenomenal. I have never had a bad meal. Most certainly Top Notch in Fort Lauderdale. Whenever I bring my friends here, they fall in love with the place as I did.
I would certainly be remiss if I did not mention how nice it is when you walk in and the staff always remembers your name. Hats off to Kenny as well as the staff I have come to know over the years which include; Russel, James and Jonathan.
Great food great service from Paul
Best restaurant in Fort Lauderdale Service and food exquisite Great atmosphere. Wonderful wines. White table clothes. Just do it
Went with three guys who had never been their before. Everybody liked there meals & we sat in a lovely smaller room off the front entrance.
We all said we would return.
Wonderful from start to finish ! David our server was truly fantastic!
My grand mariner Duck was absolutely delicious as was the fish special. Service was quite good and the ambiance is always welcoming and calm.
Their crispy steak is amazing. It's a $50 entree so obviously we aren't going there every weekend but it's a definite special date night meal.
