Rainbow Lodge Ratings and Reviews
The place is prettier than the food is good.
The food was not hot. The food was lacking in flavor. The service was not great. Overall the food is just not up to the prices but the place is so beautiful that if they could find a way to match these two things up....the place would be fabulous!
The restaurant ambience was perfect. My wife and I had an enjoyable evening because of this. Although the food was good, there was not enough. In addition to this, Lonnie, our waiter, took forever to get to us and really took a long time between visits, to check on us, as well.
We were here for brunch, and they had quite a varied menu, based mostly around eggs. The approach was eclectic, with both Mexican, French, and Italian touches. The bread was terrific, and the desserts were varied and tasty. The bloody Mary's were tasty, but there was entirely too much ice, seemingly the main ingredient. You had to drink them quickly, otherwise the drink became too dilute because of the melting ice. If you order these, tell them to go easy on the ice. There is no wheelchair access, so choose another place if you are in a wheelchair. I really liked the stuffed game on display throughout the restaurant.
Stopped in for a date night and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is very rustic/outdoorsy, which put me off a bit, but I have to say, the food and the service more than made up for the creepy animal heads staring down at me. The shrimp bruschetta was DELICIOUS, though I would have loved a somewhat larger serving. I can also highly recommend the crabcake, pear salad, and the dessert tasting for two. Everything was excellent, and our server couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. Definitely look forward to coming back here in the future.
This is one of the most gorgeous restaurants in the city of Houston. Given it was post-Thanksgiving, the restaurant was relatively empty, and although the service was fine, both my dishes were cold and seemed to have been sitting waiting for other's entrees to be ready to serve. I will definitely go back, as I love this place; I hope the hiccup in the food was due to the timing of our visit.
Very good food. A little disappointed at where we were seated. Made reservations early for thanksgiving for 2. But when we arrived we were seated in the hallway. Why is it that restaurants insist on seating a table of 2 in crowded unwanted areas. Very disappointed in our seating. Were not even allowed in the restaurant.
Was there for Thanksgiving Day! Disappointed we could not order off dinner menu. All that was available was a pre-set menu choice. Table service was average, have had better there.
Ordered a large to go order; turkey, sides, dessert. Was missing 2 sides out of order so glad I checked. However, previous visits were good so I will keep on the list.
Everything was great other than the portions. When you pay 50 dollars for a plate you expect more than three asparagus and should have decent sized sides. Otherwise, the food was very tasty and the server was fantastic. I would recommend, but I would do so being sure to let them know do not anticipate being full.
