We loved everything in the dinner menu, was perfect for a romantic dinner with my girlfriend, Everything was perfect how I spected for the night, private, good service and awesome plates. Thank you for brought us a wonderful nite.
My first time there, the food was delicious. The waiter staff was very pleasant. They offer you complemtary mimosas if you have to wait for others. Try the lemon icebox pie, simply delicious. The bread pudding was awesome
Rainbow Lodge is a rustic lodge style fine dining restaurant. I've dined here for special occasions like my birthday as well as company gatherings and in every situation they were wonderful. Their menu rotates so there is always something new to try and I would say they specialize in wild game and seafood. They have a large drink/wine list so there is sure to be something to pair with your meal perfectly.
lovely birthday brunch.
I missed this place during restaurant weeks, but decided to check it out last night. Overall the atmosphere is nice and there are nice views. But I have to say I was not overly impressed with the food. Everything was fine, but nothing blew my socks off. The quail and grits appetizer was a little bland and my trout dish was super oily. Understandably the fish was oily, but the sweet potatoes and kale were also just soaked. We tried the bread pudding for desert and it had a good flavor, but again pretty generic. I still think this place is worth checking out, because the menu has some pretty interesting options.
This restaurant has always been great. This was no exception. The food is great and the menu is just different enough to make stand out from other restaurants. And the service was also outstanding. It is just a great place.
What’s not to love about this restaurant! I was there twice in one weekend, once for dinner and for brunch on Sunday. Excellent both times and for that matter, all the times I have dined there.
Rainbow Lodge. Excellent food and service as always.
We went to this restaurant for our anniversary, and I am glad we did. Food is super delicious. Waiter is so friendly and professional. Great for Sunday brunch. Highly recommended
We waited a long time for our food and sometimes had a long wait for drink orders. When the food did come out, two entrees ordered medium were rare and had to be sent back to the kitchen. They were delicious though! The waiter in general was very good, but we were celebrating two birthdays and only one was recognized...until we said something. The fact that two birthdays were being celebrated had been communicated when the reservation was made and again to the waiter that evening. Would definitely go back, but there were some "glitches" one wouldn't expect at this restaurant.
We were very disappointed in the dishes served for dinner. Ceasar salad was ok, but my duck was overcooked, the fois gras was too soft. Service was good. Noise level way too high for fine dining. Sorry to say, we probably won't go back for dinner.
Menu needs work.
Our dining visit was a combination of celebrations as it was our wedding anniversary and we were celebrating my husband getting his PE License. It was the perfect evening - we absolutely loved it!!!
Celebrated my sister's birthday (with my other sister) and had an absolutely wonderful time. I don't know if we had such a perfect table overlooking the beautiful scenery below because I noted the celebration when making the reservations, or if we just lucked into it. Either way, it was a perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive, and the food was all delicious. Rainbow Lodge is a great place to celebrate!
Amazing burger! Wonderful service in a very special setting. A true Houston gem.
Excellent service, food was great. Ambiance was wonderful.
Wonderful atmosphere! It was my birthday and my family and I had a wonderful time, and the waiter, whom I regretfully forgot to get a name for, dealt with my quirky family with much delicacy and professionalism.
I’m a server myself, 20 years or so, and I was impressed at his waiting capabilities. I really hope my brother gave him a good tip. I was going to try to slip him an extra $20, but never had an opportunity.
In all, everything was more than perfect.
I would suggest possibly a section for parties that contained more of a communal seating with long wooden tables so that everyone could be closer together. The large round tables can sometimes leave a part of the party wishing the seats were rotational and at a constant shuffle so to get a word in with everyone.
Perfect birthday 🎂 thanks Rainbow Lodge
Excellent as usual. My favorite place.
My girlfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary and it did not disappoint. I had requested two glasses of Champagne for us on arrival at the table as my GF didn’t know where we were going. The Manager delivered that as we sat down. Great job!
I cannot remember our servers name, he was tall Serbian guy so that should narrow it down, was absolutely top notch! He was very attentive without lurking. He gave tremendous recommendations and truly help make our night special.
I never write reviews but this was worthy as we had a great evening.
Thank you Rainbow Lodge. You never disappoint, however this was beyond over the top. 🍾 cheers.
Great food, service and wine list!
This was our first time here. Loved it. I'm a vegetarian, but hubby isn't. We came here for Houston Restaurant Week since they offered a vegetarian selection to choose from for each course (thanks!!). I had the salad, harissa cauliflower and bread pudding. Delicious! My husband had the gumbo (he kept raving about for days!), pheasant and chocolate ganache cake. Our waiter, Lonnie, was fabulous! He took our experience from pleasant to fun. Will definitely return!
The food quality was not that great. The flavor seemed off. In addition, I had to ask several times to get a refill. Also, the menu options were not my favorite.
The restaurant was recommended for the view, however this was a bunch of hype. The food was so, so. My mashed potatoes were salty. The portion size was good. Not too large. The bread pudding was delicious but it would have been nice if the ice cream was softer.
I wanted to get together with my friends for a Sunday brunch. My complaints are very simple. Three of us ordered the buffalo braise short rib Benedict. Just terrible!! Basically buffalo pot roast on soggy toast. There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about it. I did not eat it. I also ordered duck sausage. Wasn't even cooked. I understand a little under cooked. This was raw...Raw! Service....nonexistent. We had to beg and plead to get anything. We literally asked for every single refill ( not an exaggeration). I would have complained about food except nobody came to check on us or ask how things were. Maybe I would have ordered another entree or dessert but again nobody ever came to check on us. We waited 40 minutes for ticket. I had to buy food on the way home. I cannot believe that I am having to write this. I never give bad reviews. Ever!
Good food ... great service ... very inviting atmosphere ... unique menu.
Great setting and service. Wonderful view but despite being in a cozy corner the noise level from several nearby tables was a bit too loud. Still a very enjoyable experience!
It was our first time and we'll definitely be back. I enjoyed the mixed grill as it gave me a chance to try so many different items that I normally would not get anywhere else. My wife was less adventurous and stayed on the seafood side, which was amazing. We had great service, cocktails, appetizer, soup/salad, and dessert. Thanks for a great experience and we'll see you again soon!
First and foremost, the music was on point! We were jamming at our table! We love this place, and everyone that works there is fantastic. 5 Star recommendation!
Our experience was good and food and wine was amazing. Waiter forgot to put 2 of our orders in and recovered quickly on the first one and then he forgot my husbands coffee. He was suffering with allergies so I understand. We would come back and waiter made great wine selections for us.
Excellent evening with great service & excellent food!
Very good service. Food was excellent,as well. Portions were sufficient, even for HRW Lunch. Would highly recommend it,here.
The food was outstanding. The fact that instead of walking around the table, the waitress kept on reaching between my sister in law and her water to serve me detracted from the evening.
We had a lovely time at Rainbow Lodge, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The quail appetizer was fantastic and the Taste of the Wild Entree stole the show. Overall, good food and great service.
Very nice, food was good, service was excellent. Not a big fan of dead animals staring at me while I eat. But overall a beautiful place. Very nice wine list and reasonable overall.
Warm atmosphere, with a nice view. Very romantic, food was excellent.
It is a fine dining restaurant but the service was questionably poor. From the manager to the chef and everyone in btwn. Food was served cold, undercooked, reheated and/or distasteful. In any other estsblishment, after the 3rd rejection of unprepared food, the manager could or should have comp the order. But the manager insulted us by reconfirming the price difference in entrees. It took 3 1/2 - 4 hrs to complete our dining. Drinks were slowly replaced. Cokes were refilled with tea. Complimentary bread was rationed among a table of 6. Tables had to be switched out because it was unfitting and suitable for a party of 6... the list could go on.
The food and service were wonderful. However, the valet service was not. You MUST use valet as the restaurant does not have enough parking spaces for its guests. But they need MORE valet staff. Our reservation was for 11 am. When we left at noon, all the noon reservations were arriving. With only 2 valet staff, there was no way for all the noon cars to be parked and the 11 am diners to receive their cars. There was at least a 15 minute wait before the valet staff asked us to walk to our car ourselves. Otherwise we would have been waiting much longer. There were at least 3 other dining groups waiting to get their cars from valet in order to leave. The disorganization and lack of valets put a negative feeling on what had been a fun, nice celebratory brunch. I will remember the poor valet service longer than I will remember the good food. It will be awhile before I return.
Jacek was our server and we will come back because of his customer service. He was outstanding..... the food was over the top as well, but Jacek being so warm and inviting made our brunch. Thumbs way up.... thank you for a lovely meal
I originally could not get a reservation online for 7, only 6. Called the restaurant and they were happy to accommodate all of us. The restaurant felt like an upscale Vail, Colorado ski resort. The food was outstanding, and I mean all 7 of us. The service was unbeatable, probably the best service we received in a long time. Can't wait to go back.
Everything was good, except the noise. Was very hard to have conversation
