Great ambiance and amazing food. We loved the decor inside and can’t wait to experience the patron when it warms up.
Had a group of folks from work in from out of town, and took them to Sunday Brunch. They were not disappointed. Service and food were excellent, as usual. Plenty of food options for all types of preferences (wild game, vegetarian, "traditional" brunch). Beverage options (all types) were also fantastic.
Great and amazing service. The food is good with a lodge feel and game meat.
The ambience at Rainbow Lodge is great, the service better than average. My dinner was amazing with regards to flavor, but the meat was served cold. I should have sent it back and will do so in the future if that happens again. My wife had the vegetarian entree and it wa Sheryl heavily seasoned, much more than necessary. Still, we will be back and would recommend Rainbow Lodge.
Great service! Great food! Great atmosphere! Highly recommended!
Great restaurant, it was worth every review on trip advisor. Best service I ever had at a restaurant. Went for Valentine day and the champagne met us while being seated. It was a four course meal and they brought our plates out quickly. Soon as we were done with one meal they promptly removed our dirty plates with a new meal. Worth every penny. Nice and quiet with romantic scene in the lodge.
We are usually big fans of Rainbow Lodge and often go there for special occasions and the occasional lunch. We love to sit in the back rooms with glass windows and views of the ravine (which we requested but weren't given even though no one was there). We were disappointed this time, the night before V-Day. The duck gumbo, my favorite, seemed to lack, it's usual robust favor and the lobster tail was drenched in butter. I actually spooned some off. The brussel sprouts were overcooked. Fortunately the bison steak, another favorite was as delicious and tender as we remembered. I ordered a glass of the Rose that was listed with the sparkling wines for $12 (I think). When the waiter asked me about the Rose, he asked if it was the bubbly I responded, "Yes the one by the glass." When we got the bill we saw that my rose was $22. Perhaps I should have asked if there were more than one, but I didn't see a $22 rose on the menu and to top it off it wasn't anything special--definitely not $22 worth. Because this has long been a favorite spot we will give it another try but our early V-Day dinner was not so special and left us with a bad taste.
Beth and I love this place the food is delicious and the ambiance is just the right amount of intimate.
Great food, wines and service! I will return often!
Excellent in all categories. Unusual menu with wildlife dishes
We went out as 4 couples for our annual Valentines dinner. Great time. Great company. Outstanding moscato.
The Rainbow Lodge has wonderful ambiance. One of the lovliest restaurants in Houston and perfect for a special occasion or romantic date.
Celebrated my wife's birthday with friends and had a fantastic time. The food was amazing especially the pheasant. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant's wine list is extensive and illustrious. Great food, great wine and great conversation who could ask for a better birthday celebration. I look forward to returning soon to the restaurant.
The food and service was suburb. Definitely worth the drive into town.
Food and service are always impeccable- however- this time , I was less than impress with the service. The wait staff never refilled our water or came back to check on us. To get a second drink - we had to catch his eye across the room. We will continue to go to Rainbow Lodge and we will just chalk this up to a bad day.
The Lodge is a great place to meet old friends and make acquaintances into new friends. Warmth of wood and log and stucco walls , soft lighting and unobtrusive background music, rather than the obnoxious rock noise of too many restaurants in Houston. Excellent wine list. The Tied Fly Bar is a work of fine art; sculptured trout and swell booze choices (except for the lack of a few top Texas wines). Fine art and magnificent animal mounts throughout the building. Did I mention superb food? Whomever decided to always have the best bread in Houston was a genius.
The quail appetizer was excellent. And the main courses were excellent too. But what stoke the show was the desserts, the bread pudding and the chocolate mousse. Worth the drive.
We got an inside room but we requested if we cd sit in the main room. The lady adjusted us, it was a great evening. Thank you.
Great food but appetizers were a bit cold. Quite expensive. A wedding was taking place when we were there and the valet service was quite overloaded when we left, so it took about 20 minutes to get may car back. Overall nice though.
Excellent restaurant with incredible wild game menu options.
