Waiter was extremely personable and informative. A couple little mistakes but he covered well. There was a wedding going on and it looked great for such an occasion. We all enjoyed the food and the time spent.

Service and ambience was 10/10, but food was average. The best menu item were the fried oysters. I did not enjoy the textures in the gnocchi dish--the gnocchi itself was a mashed potato consistence which was falling apart, and half the butternut squash chunks were overly chewy because they were not fully cooked. The quail in "Taste of the Wild" lacked flavor. However, the duck dish was delicious, house-baked bread was a perfect combination of crispy and soft (plus the butter was at the most ideal temperature/consistency), and I really enjoyed the cajun sauce accompanying the oysters. We ordered the dessert sampler for 2 and received 2 brownies + 1 baklava + 1 bread pudding. The bread pudding was the star of the dessert sampler, but I would have preferred more variety than 2 types of chocolate brownies (I was told that the sampler includes a strawberry macaroon, and I was disappointed that it was replaced with brownies without our knowledge; had I known I would have ordered a different dessert).

Disappointed....was really looking forward to a family birthday dinner on Thursday night. Booked reservation via open table, specifically indicating birthday and requesting a table on the patio given the unusually perfect weather.
Upon arrival told there were no patio tables available, “ but we made a reservation and its a special occasion.” We were told patio is first come, first serve basis. We asked if we could wait or of there was anything they could do. Manager walked me through the patio to show me a table for 4 where they’d be willing to put our party of five, but pointed out no one like that table as it’s right next to the A/C which is really loud (agreed, too loud). Observed that the 3 other large tables were occupied by people just having drinks, that none of the 2-tops were occupied, and also that there is plenty of room on the patio such that, had the manager thought ahead about wanting to accommodate our reservation and patio request, he could have easily made it work. Obvious that no effort was made.
We settled for a table inside, and the service, while very friendly was ridiculously slow.
Food was good, but not great for the price.
Still love their patio but won’t go back again as I don’t think they really care about their guests.

The food and service was wonderful, as always. I had lobster, which was delicious and the cauliflower and eggplant with creamed corn was very good. The salad and dessert were also excellent. Wouldn’t mind slightly larger servings of the main dish. 4 ounces is not a lot. But everything together was delicious and a healthy amount. Thanks for a pleasant evening!

If you visit in mid-afternoon, it is hard to get seated as no one is staffing the reception desk. You have to walk and yell all over the restaurant to find someone to seat you.

Great atmosphere!! The Service was equally as good along with the drinks. Great for a date night and a patio table is a must if there is good weather! I ordered the Migas and was super satisfied and my husband got the Wild Game taster (can't remember the name exactly) and it was super dry with not much flavor.

Every bite, from appetizers through dessert, was outstanding. Quail bite appetizers are great. We had bison and antelope for main courses and they were great. The restaurant décor is very rustic. Personally I would like a louder, more robust restaurant; it was very quiet.

Took out of town guests here and they were amazed by this little jewel in the middle of everything. Great service and accommodation of one guest with special food requests. Can't wait to go back!

From the valet parking to the dinning this place is memorable. The atmosphere, the food the way the staff went completely out of their way to make our occasion memorable was priceless.

I've been wanting to go to this place for a few years now but not willing to make the drive. I'm glad I didn't make a special effort to go there, happened to be in the area. It was average, the buffalo and venison were good, the rib eye - average at best and not cooked properly. I asked for med-rare to medium and got RARE.
The interior outdated, wish it would have been warmer to sit on the patio. The jalapeno bacon grits just tasted like grits, nothing special, roasted brussell sprouts to much vinegar.
I can check it off the list of places I want to go.

My wife and I celebrated our 23-year wedding anniversary this past Friday and we loved this restaurant. The food was perfectly cooked and the atmosphere was great. Our only complaint was we felt that the cold poached lobster, for the money, should have had a larger tail. Other than that, we loved everything, we will definitely be back.

The Wild Boar was the most delicious piece of meat I have EVER consumed. I have very severe food allergies, and our waiter was adamant to make sure that my meal was prepared accordingly. Definitely a great date night place, but be prepared to spend some money. I ordered the mixed grill for dinner and I would have liked more Elk and Antelope, but overall, A+!

This place is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Their patio oversees a little ravine that provides all the water for their lush green setting. Food Features were great and they have awesome wine selections.

I made reservations for my husbands 40th bday. We sat outside and it was lovely. The gardens and lighting are beautiful. We shared the pork belly appetizer. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and I ordered pheasant. The food was delicious. Lots of great flavor and juicy. The waiter brought out a lovely birthday dessert for my husband, what a nice surprise.

Amazing at how one element can make or break an experience.
Food was incredible as always. The waiter however I feel only lacked a cattle prod to move us along. Cane to take our order and we gave him our drink order and then he just stood there and said he needed the rest of it. Appetizer arrived and was delicious but little did I realize that I was saying goodbye to my knife for the remainder of the meal. Went through the entree without a knife. Dessert was delivered and before he could order coffee to have with our dessert...poof he was gone. Finally got him back and told him we wanted cappuccino but before I could add “ and I would like a shot of baileys” in it he was gone. As we are our dessert with our coffee spoon we had to ask for another spoon for our coffee. Why would a restaurant if this caliber not set a dessert fork?? Just disappointing experience for this beautiful Easter weekend.
Just shows one person can make a huge difference.

It is a beautiful restaurant and the food is better than average. We did not make a request for a specific area and were only a party of two. We were seated on the runway to the restroom which is where there smaller tables are located. It was Easter Sunday but we could not understand why the courses timed so far apart. This is a restaurant which has been in business for a number of years and had a fixed menu, so I could not really understand the delay between the courses. Maybe if we were seated somewhere else, we might have enjoyed it more.

I feel guilty. On numerous occasions, we had intended to return to Rainbow Lodge after lunch there a while back. We know Chef Mark Schmidt's food well and have always enjoyed it. But, we hadn't "gotten around to it" ... until today. Amazing Easter Brunch. Ambiance was perfect, service was excellent and food ... as expected ... unique and perfect. I'm confident that our entire family will return both as a group and as couples.

A friend treated me to dinner a few days ago for my birthday. We ordered a dessert coffee (delicious) which we had just started to enjoy when the waiter appeared with a small brownie and Happy Birthday written in chocolate at the side. It was a wonderful dining experience I would recommend to anyone, despite the rather high prices. But then I guess you get what you pay for. Treat a friend; it's well worth it!

Our server Sydney did an outstanding job sharing the menu selections with us. After our meal my guest and I were going on a home tour so we asked if we could have some ice to keep our leftovers cool. This request was acknowledged happily and Sydney brought them with a box of ice which did keep the food cool for several hours. We certainly appreciated his help with this.

Rainbow lodge was a very beautiful place, i took my wife there to eat the other day for our anniversary, the food was very good, the atmosphere was very beautiful, the only problem i had was that the waiter did not make me feel welcome, as if i wasn't fit for the restaurant. Financially wise. Do not judge a book on its cover, i make over 6 figures a year but stay very humble about it. I told my wife i would give the place another try, because of the food and environment.
