Rainbow Lodge Ratings and Reviews
The service was great and restaurant is absolutely beautiful with a great ambiance. It was my boyfriend’s birthday so I decided to do something different.
The food was a bit on the “wild” side. We enjoyed the experience of trying things we have never eaten.
It was a bit pricey. $200 for two people. We probably won’t regular the place but everyone should step out of their box and try something new.
Rainbow Lodge certainly lives up to its reputation, even in the new location. The ambiance is very rustic and reminds of a hunting lodge in the Colorado mountains. Food is exquisite and the menu features creative takes on non-traditional proteins. I went for the buffalo tenderloin special and we split the crab cake appetizer (to die for). Afterwords, we finished with croissant bread pudding - YUM! Highly recommend this place for a special night out with a loved one.
Having eaten at Rainbow Lodge on numerous occasions, I found this particular night(New Year's Eve) lacking the usual quality I have come to expect from the restaurant. I realize it was a large crowd and the kitchen was hopping, but the quality of the food was certainly below their normal standards. In our party of six, the diners who selected the salad all agreed it was not tasteful and elected not to finish it. Some of the entrees were cold. This experience does not affect my interest in visiting again, however.
Went to Rainbow Lodge for the New Year's Eve dinner - a four course meal. For the price, it wasn't anything special. While the service was very good, I felt like we were eating on an assembly line. The restaurant seem to run as many customers through that evening as quickly as possible. Having spent over $250 for 2 people for dinner, I think I'd prefer something better. Will definitely consider another restaurant for New Year's Eve next year.
Rainbow Lodge is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants so we chose it to celebrate New Year's Eve. While the food was good, there was no celebratory atmosphere. We would have liked to have had the table decorated and more of a festive feel to the place. Our waiter was somewhat attentive, but was not watchful of our empty wine glasses. These are minor items, but for the $85/person charge, we expected a bit more.
We are so lucky to have this amazing restaurant within just a few miles of us. You can’t go wrong here if you love a good, solid menu and fantastic service. We have never been disappointed, not once (and we’ve been here a lot). It’s not trendy, but that’s one of the best things about it. Just good food in a beautiful spot. Don’t miss out on this place. If you’ve never been and are looking for a good time to try it, check out their Sunday Suppers every Sunday night. A different “comfort food” dinner entree along with the regular menu, and all wines are half price! We love Rainbow Lodge, and it’s very clear the owner, chefs, and staff do too. A must visit!
Took my family to celebrate the holidays and we had a wonderful time. They accommodated my request for a round table for seven. The food was fantastic. Had snapper, bison, halibut and quail. Each great. My two year old grandson enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Would highly recommend this place!
As always, rainbow Lodge did not disappoint. The appetizers were great for sharing. Everyone's main course was cooked perfectly and was very enjoyable. Service was highly attentive. Dessert menu was OK, but not great....but that was easy to overlook after a great dinner.
Rainbow Lodge is a wonderful place to dine and to have a quiet conversation, unlike many other fine restaurants where it can be noisy. Our server, Dawn was great. She was perfect in her attentiveness. The wine list by the glass is very affordable as were the martinis. The food was excellent.
Have been here several times before for regular dining, but first time for a special occasion (anniversary). Made reservations a week in advance and got pretty good seating in the large open area in the corner, close to the back next to the windows. The holiday decorations and lighting were very nice. It was quiet when we arrived, but as it got busier, it got louder, but not loud enough to have to shout.
I rate the following of what we had on a general scale of 1 to 5, 5 being really good.
Wine: (bottle) Caymus sirah (5) — very fruit, dry, complex
Appetizer: A taste of wild game (3)
Entrée: Breast of pheasant (5)
Entrée: wild game grill (4)
Dessert: chocolate mouse terrine (5)
Dessert: Bread pudding: (5)
Total bill: $175
TL;DR I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely save room for the bread pudding.
Things seem to have gone downhill. Food was still good, but not great. The service was essentially non existent. Felt like they had installed more tables and the noise level is now unacceptable. Probably be a long time before we return
The place is prettier than the food is good.
The food was not hot. The food was lacking in flavor. The service was not great. Overall the food is just not up to the prices but the place is so beautiful that if they could find a way to match these two things up....the place would be fabulous!
