This was the first visit for three of the four diners and they were impressed and pleased with the entire experience.
As always exceeded our expectations which were very high.
I come here often and love the place. Ordered the fish and chips, only had three small pieces, I would have put 4 in it. It left me hungry! :-) Otherwise, great service! Keep it up.
Food and ambiance were wonderful. Our server, while nice, made multiple errors on our order and then the check.
Great ambience, rustic and warm atmosphere
Food was okay. Not too impressed. I had the lobster risotto and only saw three tiny pieces of lobster in the plate, it was tasty but not something I would go back for.
My husband ordered the duck breast foie gras, he said it was okay.
Overall experience, the restaurant is very pretty, we went to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered drinks, appetizer and entree.
At the end the server brought us a complimentary slice of pecan pie with “Happy Anniversary” written on it. That was a nice surprise we weren’t expecting it.
Not a place I’d go back to anymore.
We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at the rainbow lodge. We looked around and compared it to other restaurants listed as top 10 romantic restaurants in Houston. A couple of our favorites were close, but we chose the rainbow lodge as it was the restaurant I proposed in 22 years earlier. Then it was rated in the top 5... every aspect of dinner was amazing. The food was incredible, the lady who served us helped make the evening perfect, the ambience was definitely romantic, and we came away again, very satisfied customers. We only come here about once every 3 years, but it has never been a disappointment!
I have been wanting to go here for quite some time. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful and makes you forget you’re in the middle of the city! The food was phenomenal and our waiter Jeff was so delightful and helpful with his suggestions. Already planning to go back!
The food is by far the most outstanding factor making it our favorite.
Lunch was an enjoyable experience. The rainbow trout was delicious!
I’m not sure where to start, the ambiance and decor is breathtaking, I could spend hours walking through the restaurant admiring the decor, much like walking through a museum of fish & wild game. The wait staff knew the menu as if he’d written it himself. We visited during lunch, the parking lot was full, but we felt like we were the only table in the restaurant. I love how this place is laid out, multiple rooms each secluded so your experience is private. We will be returning!!!
Our Anniversary Brunch was very nice. We enjoyed the appetizers and mimosas very much. Our main course was beautifully presented and enjoyed as well. Our server Jen was very attentive and met our needs through out the meal. The location was warm, inviting and really a nice change to the urban surroundings.
Had a fabulous celebratory dinner at Rainbow Lodge. Everything we had was fabulous. Thanks for a great evening made more special!
Went here for our anniversary. We had a relatively quiet evening. The meal was fantastic and we really enjoy the ambiance.
We look forward to our future visits.
This was our first time at the Rainbow Lodge. We really enjoyed our visit from start to finish. Great ambiance, food and service! We will definitely be back.
Fantastic New Year’s Eve menu! Would definitely return!
Drinks and food were very good. Service was impeccable!
New Years Eve Dinner, service and food were great. Will be going back!!
Our server and one of the managers were very helpful and proud of their restaurant. The food was excellent and hard to make the choice since the selections we're very diverse. The food was cooked perfectly. I have seafood and my husband had game.
Thank you for a wonderful meal away from home. We don't know if we will be back to Houston, but will recommend your restaurant to friends.
Felt some confusion and possibly overcharged for NYE prix fixe dinner for 6; but, the ambiance, entrees, cocktails, wine, and dessert were perfection, as always. Daniel was a gregarious, informative, and very accommodating server.
Brunch with the family. Food and service were spot on. Enjoyed the experience.
The quality of the food did not match the height of the price. The lobster-avocado salad was outstanding but it went downhill from there. At the waiter's recommendation we tried the fried quail appetizer. I think the idea is good, and it was reasonably tasty, but it was also evident that the oil in which the quail was fried was not fresh. The 'old oil' flavor diminished this appetizer. Our main course was antelope with cheese grits, grilled Brussel sprouts and potato hash. The antelope had decent (not great) flavor, but was delivered to our table cold - huge kitchen error. The cheese grits were hot and delicious. The Brussel sprouts were very good with the exception of the inexplicable presence of a very, very hot pepper that nearly ruined the sprouts. The potato hash was mediocre at best. Bland and uninteresting. We wished that we hadn't ordered it. For dessert the bread pudding was pretty good, but you can get a better one for less money at the Red Lion Pub. The service was excellent. The ambiance was very nice.
We have spent Christmas Eve at Rainbow Lodge before this year and had a very enjoyable experience but this year we were rushed through our meal. Our ribeye was mostly fat. I realize that ribeye is a fatty cut but the ribeye we had was had too much fat and too little meat. Dessert (chocolate pecan pie) was delicious.
As always, Rainbow Lodge delivered a spectacular holiday meal. We can always count on RL to provide exceptional cuisine and service in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
Rainbow Lodge at Christmas is magical. Every staff member makes you feel welcome. The food is the finest of everything; the best wine, the best coffee, and wonderful dishes prepared by accomplished chefs. The decoration of the Lodge is absolutely beautiful.
We've eaten at Rainbow Lodge since they were on Buffalo Bayou, just off Memorial & Westcott. The experience is always lovely & the food delicious.
We had a reservation for 5:30 and we were seated at a table for two by the window. We had our waters and then shortly after we were asked to move to another table. It seemed to us that we were ignored for 15 or so minutes while others around us were getting waters and being attended to. My son said we should leave if we we were ignored much longer. The food was good but your service was very disappointing.
The place was nicely decorated and the ambience was nice but the rainbow trout was no good at all. PArking is not good, you have to valet.
Made a reservation weeks in advance for 21st wedding anniversary. Arrived 15 minutes early. Was told 45 minute wait.
Was pointed to the bar area by a snotty male host.
Over 1.5 hours later got crappy hallway table. Ordered tasting menu. Meat ok but cold and extremely small portions. Waiter was excellent. Expected more fire the price. No reason 2 people with reservation get a crappy table that late.
We took a couple of our best friends to dinner. The food was good but not outstanding. Perhaps too busy since it is the holidays? The place is always gorgeous. However, very expensive thus low on value at the end of the day.
It was the last burger Friday before Christmas so the restaurant was very busy. Still the service was excellent and the food especially the Chocolate Bourbon pie was delicious.
Everything was great with the dining experience however the host listed my reservation status with Open Table as "Missed" resulting in a negative message from Open Table regarding the 'missed' reservation. I have a $202 receipt that confirms my reservation was definitely NOT missed.
Excellent service excellent food what a great place you should come here and have dinner
