Great Sunday brunch!! Amazing complimentary croissant to Nosh on with coffee/tea while waiting for food. The hubs had prime rib & eggs and I have to admit that when it came to the table as a thin slab of meat smeared with horseradish I was skeptical. We both thought it was delicious! I had the 3 pig quiche. Too often quiches have a doughy raw-ish crust—but this one was crispy and delicious! It was covered in sausage gravy but would have still been amazing without it. We shared a lemon ricotta pancake which was perfectly sweet and tangy and didn’t need any syrup. We made a reservation so we were in and out in under an hour.
Quite a few issues with our food, took entirely too long get to the table, and quite pricey for the average meal. We had a few items taken off of our bill for being cooked improperly and were offered free dessert but we most likely won’t be returning.
Sweet potato tots were great! So was the Smash Burger. Disappointed they were out of the Cubano.
Great food. Horrible service. I have eaten at Railcar over a dozen times with never an issue. We waited over an hour and half for our food. We were never checked on and had to find a server twice for refills for our drinks. Once our food arrived, we were still missing my entrée that had apparently been submitted to the kitchen later than the rest of the meal. They took care of my entrée, but it ruined our Mother's Day dinner unfortunately.
Railcar is our go to for special occasions. I’m totally heartbroken over our service on Mother’s Day, doubt I will ever be able to convince my husband to go back. We ended up leaving the restaurant after waiting for an hour for our food. Our daughter was able to eat her Mac & Cheese kids meal, which we had to initially send back because the noodles were not cooked... My husband lost his patience after an hour of waiting and then after asking for meals to be boxed we continued to wait so we decided to leave.
We were there for over 2.5 hours. We waited 45 minutes for our server to take our order, then another 20 for her to come back and tell us they were out of several items we ordered. Side salads and soup took 30 minutes after being ordered to be brought out to us. There were only a few other tables and the restaurant was not nearly as busy as usual, yet when we commented to a manager how poor our experience was we were told “it has been so busy today”. Yet in the time we were there, the table next to us was reseated with 3 different families. After our horrible experience, we spent nearly $250 and were not discounted ANYTHING for the poor quality of service. We will not be returning again, nor will we be recommending the Railcar to any friends or family.
The restaurant was nearly empty but it took over an hour to get our food. They brought the children’s meals first, and when they were finished, they brought out the adults’ meal. My meal was not worth the wait. I will not dine at this place again.
The croissants they bring to the table remind me of a mix of Croissants and french toast.
Celebrated Mother's Day here with our Mom from Seattle. All was delicious as usual
especially enjoyed the Chicken Schnitzel. Had never done brunch before but will defintely be back.
This has become our fav restaurant in Omaha - the service and kindness during a very busy Saturday before Mother's Day were outstanding.
We had the chicken and waffles and the eggs Florentine with smoked salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. The flavors meld together well in both dishes.
Our first time
Arrived based on an AirBnB referral.
It was excellent. Cocktails were unique. The Bourbon Sangria was a hit. It could bring me back.
All four had something different and raved ours was the best!
Dessert was worth it
We went to Railcar to celebrate my Sister's Birthday. We ordered the salmon and it was mushy and covered in a cream sauce. It was baked not grilled.
My glass of wine was $15 a glass way over priced.
The waiter was awesome
Much much better for lunch.
We went for dinner and I ordered the ribeye, it was delicious but thin and tough.
The fish tasted like the oil was old.
But the bisque was very good.
Server was fantastic and the Manhattan was great.
Best to go there for lunch and have dinner somewhere else.
Food was excellent. I had the prime rib and it was great. Highly recommend and planning on going again.
My friends and I want to the Railcar for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is incredibly loud so having a conversation where one is not forced to raise one’s voice, or yell, is out of the question.
The food was okay, the prices are what one would expect, and the service was okay.
I like to dine at places where I can have a conversation with friends, so I don’t think I will be going back the Railcar any time soon.
Had a great experience, we showed up 5 minutes prior to our reservation and we were seated promptly. Unlimited beverages were kept full. Noise level was low making it a great atmosphere for conversation and catching up with old friends.
We had a wonderful waitress. She was very helpful and attentive but not overbearing. In addition the chef prepared our food in a timely manner.
I ordered my ribeye medium rare, it came out medium and they tried to convince me that it was medium rare. We ordered brussels sprouts as an appetizer, they were hard. Our reservation was for 745 the restaurant was not busy. It took about 10 minutes after we were seated for someone to acknowledge we were there. We ordered a pork belly appetizer also which was good, everything came out hot. After we ordered it took 30 to 45 minutes to get our food, when we mention to our waitress that we had a movie to get to, she said she would check on the food, came back told us it was headed for the window, it took another 10 minutes before we got our food.
Good food but service was a little slow. Was unable to pinpoint the reason though. Some servers I saw multiple times while ours seemed very busy going table to table. Perhaps he was overwhelmed? For the overall business of the place, management probably should have provided some help. Our server had great customer service though and was pleasant throughout dinner. We didn't mind the pace though as we were out for a date night. We will be back.
Why is my party seated in back whenever I go to the Rail Car. Why not up front. Why not ask customer preference? Yes we had reservations. I did look up menu before going. Really wanted the shrimp appetizer. Get there not available. Manager did apologize . But why not offer your qualified chef to just grill some shrimp and serve it. Think out side of the box. Then service really really slow. Early Friday 6 pm wasn’t very busy. Took 45mimutes to get mac n cheese entree and a Cuban sandwich. REALLY! Place wasn’t even full. Menu is very limited. Thumbs down.
Great for groups... we used Opentable to book for a party of 8. Great food and drinks with excellent service! Highly recommend the Wagyu Burger.
We had great service and food was excellent. It was the first time at this restaurant for one in our party and he’s coming back
Always enjoy dining here!
Everyone's meals were overdone, it was too dark in the restaurant to see if your food was cooked correctly. It was not a good experience taking our friend there for the first time.
Great food and bloody Mary’s. Overall a neat place.
It was a great experience. Our waiter was really good to us. They made my meal the way I wanted.
Awesome! Great service and great food.
One of my favorite places in Omaha for Brunch, love their double smash burger and bottomless cocktails!
They were busy but not when we first got there. Took about 15 minutes just to have our coffee refilled. Our orders (party of 7) came out at separate times. My order was wrong...they did comp our beverages because of it. Everyone thought their food was okay/good. Mine was just okay. Eggs Florentine Benedict with a side of ham. The eggs were cooked through and not runny like a traditional Benedict and the Hollandaise was just okay. The forgot the ham so brought it out about 10 mins later. Won't rush back here which is a shame because I had such high hopes.
We have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a good experience, but something was off this night. The appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, and the soup my husband ordered to go with his meal came out a few minutes before that. Our main dish was delivered just 1 or 2 minutes later and their usually awesome green beans were wilted to mush. By the time we finished our appetizer we didn’t even want our meals because it was too much food at the same time. Definitely not the experience we are used to there.
We had the Korean BBQ popcorn chicken for the first time - amazing! Just enough slaw and spice and the breading on the chicken - delightful. Will definitely have this dish again. We also had French onion soup and a wedge salad. We shared the veal and there was plenty to feed both of us.
As always the food is fabulous, flavorful and filling, the wait staff: friendly and knowledgeable! Great place to dine in or even eat at the bar. Highly recommend it and worth checking out the awesome food!
Birthday dinner at one of my wife’s favorite restaurants. Food was good as usual but seemed a rushed in presentation. Had to wait until 7:40pm to get seated when I had a 7pm reservation so it was a little frustrating to get seated so late - I can understand 10-15 minutes but waiting for 3-4x that amount of time was borderline ridiculous. Still love the place but the exceptional experience I am used to just wasn’t there.
My wife and I had a nice dinner for a special occasion. There were not many people there so it was quiet and the service was good.
The food was excellent !! The service was great....our waitress suggested foods for us to try. She even gave a sample of the bisque that they just made!! The drinks were good!!
Rude staff, watered down drinks, terrible food. This was really disappointing.
Someone in our party ordered pancakes and the server commented that it was fine to splurge on calories once in awhile.
When server gave us our drinks he spilled mine and never cleaned it up. We had to finally do it ourselves.
The drinks were very watered down. My father-in-law had an endless bloody mary. He ordered his second one and waited till nearly the end of our meal to receive it.
The food was underwhelming. Mediocre at best.
Food was terrible and I was sick for 2 days. The front door wasn't closing so we were also freezing. I had a bloody mary made with IPA, worst drink I have ever had. The whole experience cost $65 for a brunch for 2, you do the math. Worst dining experience I've had in Omaha in years.
This is normally one of my favorite restaurants. We had reservations well in advance for Easter Brunch for a party of five. We were seated in the backroom at a table for four. Server never cleaned off empty dishes from the table, making it even more crowded. We had to remove items ourselves. The waiter seemed new and overwhelmed. The execution from the kitchen was excellent as usual. Unfortunately they dropped the ball on everything else during this visit.
We had a table of ten with four loud children to celebrate Easter and a birthday. The food was outstanding but what made our meal the best was the service of our waitress. We didn’t have to wait for anything. Though we had a large party, she was so attentive and fast. She was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The quiche she recommended was to die for. We have had some lousy service as of late from many Omaha restaurants. The Railcar set the standard today in how a restaurant and its staff should operate. We can’t wait to go back!
