Everyone's meals were overdone, it was too dark in the restaurant to see if your food was cooked correctly. It was not a good experience taking our friend there for the first time.
Great food and bloody Mary’s. Overall a neat place.
It was a great experience. Our waiter was really good to us. They made my meal the way I wanted.
Awesome! Great service and great food.
One of my favorite places in Omaha for Brunch, love their double smash burger and bottomless cocktails!
They were busy but not when we first got there. Took about 15 minutes just to have our coffee refilled. Our orders (party of 7) came out at separate times. My order was wrong...they did comp our beverages because of it. Everyone thought their food was okay/good. Mine was just okay. Eggs Florentine Benedict with a side of ham. The eggs were cooked through and not runny like a traditional Benedict and the Hollandaise was just okay. The forgot the ham so brought it out about 10 mins later. Won't rush back here which is a shame because I had such high hopes.
We have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a good experience, but something was off this night. The appetizer took 30 minutes to come out, and the soup my husband ordered to go with his meal came out a few minutes before that. Our main dish was delivered just 1 or 2 minutes later and their usually awesome green beans were wilted to mush. By the time we finished our appetizer we didn’t even want our meals because it was too much food at the same time. Definitely not the experience we are used to there.
We had the Korean BBQ popcorn chicken for the first time - amazing! Just enough slaw and spice and the breading on the chicken - delightful. Will definitely have this dish again. We also had French onion soup and a wedge salad. We shared the veal and there was plenty to feed both of us.
As always the food is fabulous, flavorful and filling, the wait staff: friendly and knowledgeable! Great place to dine in or even eat at the bar. Highly recommend it and worth checking out the awesome food!
Birthday dinner at one of my wife’s favorite restaurants. Food was good as usual but seemed a rushed in presentation. Had to wait until 7:40pm to get seated when I had a 7pm reservation so it was a little frustrating to get seated so late - I can understand 10-15 minutes but waiting for 3-4x that amount of time was borderline ridiculous. Still love the place but the exceptional experience I am used to just wasn’t there.
My wife and I had a nice dinner for a special occasion. There were not many people there so it was quiet and the service was good.
The food was excellent !! The service was great....our waitress suggested foods for us to try. She even gave a sample of the bisque that they just made!! The drinks were good!!
Rude staff, watered down drinks, terrible food. This was really disappointing.
Someone in our party ordered pancakes and the server commented that it was fine to splurge on calories once in awhile.
When server gave us our drinks he spilled mine and never cleaned it up. We had to finally do it ourselves.
The drinks were very watered down. My father-in-law had an endless bloody mary. He ordered his second one and waited till nearly the end of our meal to receive it.
The food was underwhelming. Mediocre at best.
Food was terrible and I was sick for 2 days. The front door wasn't closing so we were also freezing. I had a bloody mary made with IPA, worst drink I have ever had. The whole experience cost $65 for a brunch for 2, you do the math. Worst dining experience I've had in Omaha in years.
This is normally one of my favorite restaurants. We had reservations well in advance for Easter Brunch for a party of five. We were seated in the backroom at a table for four. Server never cleaned off empty dishes from the table, making it even more crowded. We had to remove items ourselves. The waiter seemed new and overwhelmed. The execution from the kitchen was excellent as usual. Unfortunately they dropped the ball on everything else during this visit.
We had a table of ten with four loud children to celebrate Easter and a birthday. The food was outstanding but what made our meal the best was the service of our waitress. We didn’t have to wait for anything. Though we had a large party, she was so attentive and fast. She was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The quiche she recommended was to die for. We have had some lousy service as of late from many Omaha restaurants. The Railcar set the standard today in how a restaurant and its staff should operate. We can’t wait to go back!
Great food.. great service highly recommend
We had a great Easter brunch at the Railcar. The food was excellent (as always)! Our server was attentive as well. We had an extremely enjoyable experience. We will be back and we will recommend to our family and friends!
I'm new to Omaha and we decided to try the Railcar for Easter Brunch. The lemon ricotta pancakes were excellent but I was so dissappointed with how quickly we were "rushed" out after they cleared the table. We were lingering long enough to finish our coffee while the waiter twice came to our table, stood there looking at us, hoping we would hurry and leave. Good food - but I won't return.
did not like the fact that the beer was served in metal. people like to see what they are drinking
We have been here multiple times. The food has always been great. The restaurant was a great feel to it.
The food here is fantastic, the ambiance is great, but the prices seemed to have gone up since we were there last, and it was kind of surprising that they wanted to charge 3 dollars for another pretzel bread roll for the table. Our waiter was attentive but didn’t know the prices of the items on the menu, and gave us our second pretzel bread for free because he forgot that there was an up charge. I would still recommend this place highly, but the prices make it more of a special occasion restaurant than somewhere I would go just on a normal evening.
Reservation wasn't honored.
Waiter didn't know who ordered what when meals came.
food was good.
Honored my reservation immediately. Absolutely no wait. Server was excellent. Half of our group enjoyed their meal other half disappointed. The half that did not enjoy the meal happened to order the same meal. There was absolutely no seasoning to any part of the meal. Very bland. All agreed. Drinks and tip dimmer averaged out to $40 per person. Too much in my book not to enjoy your meal.
Very limited cocktail menu and what they were offering they were out of a few drink options. So for that I would give them a fail grade. Salad was very heavy on the dressing, almost swimming in it. The meal was good. I had the beef medallions and my hot date had the cauliflower melt sandwich, both were prepared perfectly and tasted great. A few things small improvements and this place could be excellent.
Took 15 minutes just to get a drink and kind of went downhill from there. Slow service and my food was so salty I couldn’t even eat it.
Usually their food is very good. First time doing brunch and was very disappointed.
Waiter was great and polite.
Ordered prime rib with eggs.
Worst prime rib I ever had. was mostly fat cooked very dry that left a bad aftertaste. Took it home and gave to dog. It was almost like it was left over and recooked/served. Hash browns had terrible flavor also. Eggs were okay. First bloody mary was okay skimped on garnishments and had no garnishments on the ones after that. Very disappointin
I have had dinner there before and had some of the best ribs ever. This time I left very disappointed and felt like I way overpaid. Will not repeat.
Great experience! Love the new offerings on my the menu!
our server was great, very energetic. The food fell short. I got a chicken breast that was cooked to death and my wife ordered beef tenderloin that had the texture of beef sirloin.
The food was not as described on the menu but was tasty and the portions are huge. The service is VERY slow but the waitress was very pleasant. The alcohol drinks had no alcohol in them and did not taste good. It was a good place to try but I will not be going back.
I wanted to leave a really great review, but unfortunately I don't have that opportunity. Our service was extremely slow. Our order was not taken for over 45 minutes. We were asked if we wanted another brunch cocktail after an hour and a half. I had to ask about the ETA of our food at that same time and let the server know we were now running late to our other plans. Our food arrived 20 minutes later. There was a hair in my friend's meal. There was also a hair on the sugared croissant that was the starter. We were extremely disappointed. The restaurant comp'd our meal, which was warranted. This was my third experience at Railcar and I wish I could say I would go back, but I will not.
My friends and I met for lunch on a Saturday. The food was delicious plus they still had breakfast options available. The restaurant was very nice plus the wait staff was very pleasant and helpful. We stayed longer to visit and our waitress still continued to stop by and top off our drinks.....no rushing us out the door. I would definitely recommend for something a little different.
Today was meh! We’ve had better here. Server didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. Some of the food was amazing, others wasn’t as good as we remembered. Overall the experience wasn’t consistent.
An amazing dinner! The food was spectacular and the service was top notch.
The scallops and crab risotto was the best meal of my life. Love the cab franc. My husband had the prime rib and it was equally amazing. My only complaint is how close the tables are together. I could hear everyone around's conversation which made me hesitant to talk much.
Fabulous food and good service. The chicken schnitzel was amazing as well as the flatbread pizza. We will definitely be back again.
Overall, a great restaurant. However, I generally like only water while I'm dining and ordering only water for myself seemed to put the waitress in a bad mood. I'm not sure I received the full experience while I was there.
The food though, was excellent. This was my first experience at an upscale restaurant and it was a pleasurable experience. The food is way too expensive for any regular visits, however, I wouldn't hesitate to come back for birthdays or anniversaries.
Beef medallions are amazing! Also highly recommend the crab cakes.
Had reservations & got right in...food awesome, good choices for all
We are always pleased with the service and food at The Railcar! We actually found this restaurant when my daughter had a date at the The Railcar, the date didn't last but we did! We have gone there for many Family Birthdays and Celebrations! You will not be disappointed!
