Railcar Modern American Kitchen
Sad they didn’t have brunch since it was Monday, but their food was still amazing! I did the salmon and my husband did the Railcar burger. He said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever had! The salmon was cooked to perfection. Will be back!
Do not let the location of the Railcar deceive you! Though located in a strip-mall area, the inside is nice and quaint with even better food. Their menu had plenty of options to pick from, whether it was brunch or lunch time! Anywhere from ribs, lavosh, to a Cubano sandwich...they have a great selection. Our server was great too!
Prime Rib was terrific. Salad with vinagrette was very good. Bread brought out I believe was Pumpernickel...could have been better
Our server was very polite and knowledgeable. The food was delicious! We will all be back.
Having limitations due to allergies and cardiac diet, found the menu and limits of the chef in alternatives to be a big disappointment. Ordered salmon and it came without anything - bland.
Table next to us waited almost an hour for their food then I over heard the man tell his wife “this isn’t what I ordered”. It was clear the issue was in the kitchen.
Served raw chicken and never given soup that was ordered. Still paid for entire meal. We were really looking forward to trying this place and came out severely disappointed.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review, I know we have solved the issue in private and would hope we can earn a better review on your next visit. Cheers!
Nolan is amazing. We will be back just for him. The food is also spectacular.
Awesome waitress and service
Love the brunch menu and bottomless mimosa/drinks options. Back room got a little noisy when there were parties of 8+ in the area, but will most definitely come back again!
Railcar is beautiful hit the food left a lot to desire. We spent over $100 for the two of us and left hungry. Portion sizes were small but the food was tasty overall. My husband's pork had a lot of bone and pieces he couldn't eat. I think for the price of the meals the value isn't there. Service was top knotch and Railcar has a beautiful design. We wanted to at least try it out once and we're happy we did otherwise.
My wife and I really enjoy this place, a little to upscale (pricey) to go often, but when we go we are rewarded with a very fine experience, and its pretty quiet unlike so many places that are so brassy/noisy.
A great special occasion place for us
Food was great.
We went for breakfast on Father's Day and had a wonderful time: service was good and food was exceptional. Their croissants with a hint of sweet and fruit cups with mint are complimentary and so good. We had the chicken and waffles and the croque madame. Loved it.
Our waitress was very friendly and apologetic for how long it took for our food to come out and then when we finally got it one of our party of 4 had mashed potatoes for a side and they were ice cold. When we finished dinner we have our server our coupon and it took forever to get the manager to approve the discount and get us our bill. Overall it was painfully slow service in all aspects but not the servers fault.
This was my first time at Railcar and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Everything was just meh. Went for lunch with a couple of girlfriends. The restaurant wasn’t even half full and we were the only ones sitting on one side - at one point, out server hadn’t checked on us for 20 minutes and of course we needed something.
I ordered a Cubano sandwich and it left a lot to be desired. I felt like I got a toasted bbq sandwich at a fair. I LOVE Cuban sandwiches and this one was maybe just ok.
I’ve head similar mediocre experiences about the overall experience and food. As a foodie, I won’t be going back. Way better options...
Great food, great service, and you can actually have a conversation with your friends without shouting to be heard.
Wonderful unlimited mimosas - however a little heavy on the juice, not a “true” mimosa. Food and service was Amazing!!! Food So full of flavor and creativity. Honestly my new fav brunch place - just skipping mimosas next time
There were three of us and we shared the Breakfast nachos, the lemon ricotta pancakes and the eggs Florentine with smoked salmon. Each dish was amazing. We enjoyed a variety of the drinks of their brunch menu as well with our food. Surprisingly each drink paired nicely with our food choices. Highly recommend a trip to Railcar.
We LOVE the Railcar. The menu changes every few months and this last trip there were so many things I wanted to try I had a hard time deciding what to order. We took some friends with us for their first time and they absolutely loved it as well. The quality of the food, service and drinks are top notch. This time we tried the Cronut sundae for dessert - holy moly. So good. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food. Wonderful server
We stopped in for an early Sunday Brunch (10:45 am) and were promptly seated with our Open Door Reservation. Service was sporadic but we were in no hurry. Food was delivered in a timely manor and it was tasty, but heavily salted. Our server was sincere but seemed like she had too many tables for her casual serving style The decor is great, the place is very clean and a respectable noise lever.
Great food with a unique menu. Excellent service too.
It was very good meal medallions were great French onion soup yummy
Railcar is one of my favorite spots locally. I usually attend on Saturdays for the 12 hr roasted Prime Rib. The food this past weekend definitely fell off the spectrum of excellent. The Sriracha chicken bites were a bit salty. Salads were well seasoned as always. The 16 oz prime rib I had ordered had roughly 6 ounces of fat around the perimeter. This was less than ideal, paying an additional $4 for fat trimmings. This isolated incident won’t sway my decision to re-visit Railcar was the staff are always courteous and catering to any need. Just some honest feedback.
Food is absolutely phenomenal! Service/staff....lacking in customer service and knowledge of menu.
The food was absolutely delicious. We have been there for Sunday brunch before and that was fantastic. This was our first time for dinner. The asiago crusted chicken schnitzel was fantastic.
First time there and we will probably return. Good experience.
Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Food was excellent, portions were on smaller side, it was so good wish there was more! Service was lacking but not to the point we wouldn't eat here again!
Normally great service and food but restaurant was not prepared for demand on mother’s day. Out of many items we tried to order and food came out undercooked. Waitress was trying her best and she was wonderful but it was a rough night for them.
Severely understaffed on evening of 5/12. Made a reservation for dining room, not bar high tops. Arrived at time of reservation and was told it would be 15-30 minutes. Got sat at a high top in the bar. Bartender was serving all of the bar tables by herself along with making all of the restaurant's drinks. For that being the case she did a good job. Took over an hour to get our food from the time we ordered. Food came out cold. Was told someone would be out to talk to us about the problem. 10 minutes later no one had come. Mentioned it to the bartender and she knew nothing of the scenario. No one ended coming out to speak with us, we were told they were too busy.
Utter disaster. We went for Mother’s Day dinner, to celebrate with a group of 8. We were seated at 6pm, or a little before and did not get entrees on the table until around 8pm. We were told you were out of certain appetizers and after ordering pastas, were told they were also out of those. It took around 20-25 mins to get cocktails to the table after ordering. Pretty sure my mom waited longer for just an iced tea. We did receive appetizers, soup and salad, all of which came out about an hour or longer after we got there. We asked to speak to a manager on 3 different occasions, and all requests to speak with one were denied. We were told “he’s back cooking your food...” or “he’s unavailable at this time”. When the food finally came out, we all had to go home. We had a 4 year old that needed to get to bed. We all took our entrees to go, and upon eating them at home, found out they were just as bad as our experience. My family was extremely disappointed. We have had previous experiences at Railcar, which were wonderful. Not really sure what happened on Mother’s Day, but they really missed the mark. Completely missed the mark.
Service was very slow and the food was just 'okay'. The ribeye was not the best even though the flavor was good...was on the tougher side. I ended up giving the payment to the manager since the server failed to pick up the check after two walk by's.....let's you know how the overall service was that evening.
Great food and wonderful service. The crab bisque was simply amazing!
First time trying and on Mother's Day. Seated quickly with reservations. Very busy and food took almost an hour. One out of four of us pleased with order. Would try again on another day for a date night due to interesting menu.
Not great for allergies.
We went for a special mother’s day brunch. I was really looking forward to it. After mentioning my shellfish allergy, I was told there was only one meal on the whole menu that could be made for me. It wasn’t really my taste, but we had already been there for 30 mins and my son and husband were hungry so we stayed. I was really looking forward to French toast. Instead I had the eggs Florentine which was an acid bomb with all the artichoke hearts and goat cheese. It was a real downer for my special day. I understand wanting to avoid cross contamination, but they really couldn’t pull out a new pan for some French toast?
I went to the Mother's Day Brunch. The breakfast lavosh was divine!!!! I also enjoyed the bottomless spike drink which was the cider/orange juice. I will definitely be back. Food was awesome, service was awesome, and I had a great time!
our reservation was for 8:30, and we didn't get out until 10:30, it was very slow but the waitress was wonderful, except not touching back as we waited to see what we needed there were empty drinks a few times. The appetizers were great, the hamburger was great. Ps I had been there Monday for lunch, and ordered the salad that was like Thai, just so you know, there was very little chicken on that massive bed of lettuce, so I did not care for that.
Great service and great food!!
