A suburban neighborhood gem in Blue Bell. This upscale casual restaurant offers wonderful Italian fare with a twist. Well prepared small plates, pizzas, entrees and signature clay pot cooking emerge from the large wood burning oven. The "ultramodern, all white" decor extends a casual, comfortable feeling to diners. The blending of food and decor creates a vibrant and vivid dining experience.

Radice Ratings and Reviews
Food was great. We had 6 different "little plates", and they were all very good. Wait staff was attentive without being annoying. Very pleased. Not an inexpensive meal, but the total cost was reasonable given the quality, and taste. The small plates were reasonable portion sizes for the cost. Can easily put together a "light" meal for one (2 small plates) for $20 (not including drinks/dessert), or a very filling meal for $30 per person.
food was great and well prepared. Our family had the barley pea soup, veal osso bucco, creamy polenta, eggplant parm, calf liver. The desserts were awesome. I would classify it as gourmet Northern Italian cuisine. Dress was casual. My husband loved the wine list.
We went on New Year's Eve and were immediately seated. Waiter was very attentive.
We would highly recommend it.
This is not the usual Calabrese experience one would expect. Food was tasty but the portions were pitiful. My sister-in-law's lasagna was smaller than a Lean Cuisine....that really sucked. The appetizers were good but not close to being of a portion to enjoy the experience. i want more than a tiny forkful.
The waiter should have spent more time getting a healthy portion of food to the table more timely but too busy trying to flirt and be cutsey...not a pretty site....especially the ultra-flamboyant explanations of when food coming...dont need to throw time & money away....Won't be back
Don't miss the melanzana (eggplant parmagiano) the sweetbreads, the gnocchi.... I could go on. I agree with Craig Laban that this restaurant in a suburban strip mall, by some magical combination of great food, decor and warmth almost succeeds in transporting you to Italy.
The place is very, very white! No color. I was grateful they did accommodate our seating request for a corner table. Menu very difficult to understand as it was written in a lot of Italian. And the English descriptions of items didn't help much. Wouldn't be in any hurry to go back.
We were a group of six and were seated in a pleasant and quiet back corner. We tried a wide variety of appetizers and especially enjoyed the polenta with cheese and the mushrooms with truffle oil. The salami plate was very good. Don't order the sardines unless you like fishy fish. Half the table ordered veal ribs with rosemary. The meat was very tender. The dish needed salt and the sauce was not very exciting. The desserts were a hit. The fig and berry dessert got raves and the berries and marsala cream was light and delicious. Both wines we ordered were very good, a Pio Cesare Cortese di Gavi (white) and an Amarone. The wine prices were about 2.5 times retail. We had a fun time and stayed late talking. Overall, a nice experience.
This is a good Italian restaurant for the Blue Bell area. The pea soup I had was very good, but the bolognese I had with my pasta was a bit dry and not to my taste (they used nutmeg which I don't prefer). The lunch service was a bit inattenative. I have generally enjoyed the dinners at Radice so know it to offer well prepared and creative options.
OMG...this was my second time at the rstaurant and I AM IN LOVE. I actally thought I was in Paris in one of my favorite restaurants..........I shared the salad with crusted goat cheese...delicious. For my lunch entree, I had the JUMBO lump crepes.....Best in the world.......and had a baked apple with gelato for dessert. (Then I went back to work with a smile) Thank you sooo much! I cannot wait to come back! Maybe after work for dinner to try the short ribs.
First, there is no atmosphere. The dinner lighting is more like a diner with bright lights and no ambiance. On our last visit, and it will be our last, Radice presented braised short ribs on their menu and charged accordingly. The actual product served was two dried out pieces of what appeared to be pot roast. The pizza from their special oven was only fair. We will not go back again.
the food was very fair, not bad but no one ate anything they felt they really enjoyed either. The salad was sour with little dressing and the bacon was in large strips and cold and tasteless. The short ribs were very overcooked without much flavor. Two friends did enjoy the veal with mozzarella dish
I love Radice for the occasional Italian food fix. I get addicted to having cheesy authentic tasting Italian goodies. This place is close. It has very friendly staff. They are REALLY nice. They will let you in very late at night. The small dishes have lots of variety. I come here often.
I had heard that Radice was a delicious place to dine, and I was delighted to find
that to be true! My husband and I like to try restaurants that are in the neighborhood
and this is one that we will come back to. There were so many main dishes that T
wanted to try, so repeat visits will be coming in the near future. The eggplant parm.
was the best that I ever ate in addition to the veal ribs.
Radiche is a fine example of not believing negatives on-line postings. It was recommended by a friend for our group of 7 on a Friday night, but having read several of the on-line dissings, we were a bit concerned. We needn't have been. Food was quite good across the board, service was attentive and friendly, tho the waiter did seem to want to push the most expensive item on the menu (or maybe it was just his favorite). The decor and ambiance aren't particularly romantic, being bright and white, but they are fine for a nice dinner, and not at all the sterile deli portrayed by some. Best of all, the prices seemed quite reasonable. FYI for chocoholics - Radiche serves Ciao Bella gelato, and the chocolate is like eating gooey cold fudge.
I was very pleased with my overall experience. The bartender made a great Cosmopolitan and the restaurant was very busy but it did not affect the great service. The Arancini is to die for! Portion sizes were robust even for the assaggi (tapas) selections. I would recommend choosing only two rather than the 3-4 they recommend. I would like to try
the salads, soups, and entrees, so I plan to return.
Definitely will go back. We went with small plates instead of full dinners. The food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. My wife thought the eggplant parm was the best she ever had. We got a salad with 4 small plate selections, one which was their pizza, which was great. It had figs on it which was different. They have a decent wine list plus full bar. I liked that they have a fair number of wines that you can get by the carafe too. The waitress was extremely helpful. Being our first time there the menu was a bit confusing plus we weren't familiar with some of the ingredients, so she was very patient a made our meal a nice experience. I think next time we'll try a full dinner. There are more choices with the small plates.
