Radice Ratings and Reviews
Love the restaurant....nearby and consistently good food. Although not typical of Radice, our service was slow and not overly attentive. It took ten minutes to order a drink. Just an off night I guess, and will certainly not stop us from returning. Love that I can get smaller plates.
Parking was easy, large adjacent lot. Restaurant is attractive and roomy. Waiter was cordial and very efficient but two of our party felt he was "smug". Salad was a bit small. All food was reasonably prompt, hot, tasty and was correct with order. Dessert was very good.
We have been to Radice on multiple occasions and have been pleased every time. The food is outstanding. The servers are knowledgeable and are able to explain any ingredients you may not understand from reading the menu. It can get very busy, therefore a bit noisy as the crowd picks up.
We have been looking for a great Italian restaurant. We've found that in Radice. We have driven by this location thousands of times but never ventured to see what it was. While looking for Italian cuisine in the area, I found Radice listed. Read the reviews and perused the menu. Made a reservation and the rest is history. Awesome creative breads and olive oil dipping sauce, had a second round. Calamaretti was different for us (grilled, not fried), yet tender and tasty. I had the Stracotto, braised beef short ribs, couldn't figure out why they gave me a sharp knife. Short ribs were seasoned to perfection and fell apart at the touch of the fork. My guest had the Costata, sautéed Rack of pork chop or which was also prepared to perfection. The parmigiano crust made the difference in the taste and texture. Portions were perfect for both entrees. The atmosphere/décor felt like Little Italy. The services were over-the-top, from the hostess, waiter and servers. I'm sorry I did not get our waiter's name, he was very accommodating especially with my drink selection. He had never heard of an Amaretto Sour but said they could make anything...and they did! I recommend Radice and I'm trying to figure out when I can visit again.
This was our second visit to Radice, and it was far better than the first. It was not as crowded, and we felt a little more relaxed. Food was very good, and the service was excellent. The salad special of beets and watermelon, fennel and cheese was very good, but way, way overpriced at $14!
We have been here before and really enjoyed our experience and the meal. This time my husband and one other person in our party ordered the fish special. They were constantly picking bones out of their mouthes :( Very disappointing. My meal and the others in our party enjoyed their meals. For the time it takes us to get there I am not sure we will make the drive again.
I've eaten lunch at Radice about five different times with various friends in the last several years. Each time my meal has been delicious (I've always ordered fish): well seasoned and beautifully presented. Terrific desserts, too! I love the ambience and the warm, friendly service. My friend, who introduced me to Radice, always orders the crab crepes - her favorite. I highly recommend Radice! Worth the drive from Chestnut Hill!
Four of us enjoyed a great dinner on a Saturday evening at Radice. Eggplant appetizer was delicious , tasty and well prepared. Pizza was enjoyed as was the lasagna. Liver and onions was really flavorful. Restaurant is lovely - all white walls, furniture, etc. - relaxing. Attentive service. A good time was had by all!
the food was excellent, the owner attentive and very nice, atmosphere was comfortable.
our waiter was arrogant and negative. we should have talked to the owner about him. he ridiculed one of the restaurant's more ethnic dishes and told us twice not to get it. he spoke negatively about other items on the menu. we laughed that he must be a relative or he would not have a job. sadly we did not get his name.
My aunt and I went for an early dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant's decor is lovely and Carol our server was very friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and I had a hard time choosing what to order. I decided on the root vegetable salad and the pappardelle with lamb ragu. The dressing on the salad could have been a little bolder but i still enjoyed it. The pasta was very good. My aunt ordered the grilled calamari appetizer which was delicious and the Osso Bucco (apparently it is the special on weekends) which was also delicious and a HUGE portion. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant - I would definitely go more often but I will be looking for an excuse to return for sure.
Radice was excellent. Me and my wife went w another couple who are also food lovers. Our server (I wish I remembered his name) was awesome. Gave us time to choose items we wanted, knew all the specials by heart, had a sense of humor and gave great recommendations. The only item I wasn't crazy about was the gnocchi since the sauce was so rich and thick but it was still good. Prices are high, sure, but worth it. I would compare it to 19Bella in Skippack without the BYOB. We will definitely be back.
