Go elsewhere, nothing is good there! Waiter had an attitude too on top of it. Food is far from being good...
What a fabulous restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious - inventive, but still tasty and approachable. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back - a lot.
The food was excellent. This is a very small restaurant and the menu was somewhat limited, but everyone in our party found something that suited them and the quality of the food was excellent.
Great food and cocktails and great people and service! Larger groups are harder, so need to plan ahead and make reservation. Really fun to sit at the bar and watch the food and/or cocktail prep. Smaller and larger plates with lots of variety makes it fun to share food. Also great brunch on the weekends!
Delicious food and great portions. Made reservations which made it a great place to show to out of town friends because then you can have a Portland Sunday brunch experience without the Portland Sunday brunch wait.
My Family and I enjoyed Saturday brunch and the menu was versatile enough to accommodate our Picky Eater. We noted the seating were more fitting for groups of two or less, as there are only two large tables near the entrance.
Always a pleasure at Radar - great rotating menu. Everything is delicious and delicately crafted. And owner Lily is as sweet and pleasant as ever - thank you!
Radar is amazing. They take reservations, which you might need depending on the day/time. Brunch on the weekends is awesome. This was my 2nd time for a dinner time, and both the steak & the rockfish were eye-rolling-back-in-your-head amazing! Best gin & tonic ever. Ever. Order different things and share is my recommendation because NOTHING is to be missed and that way you can taste many of the amazing flavor pairings they manage to come up with. Servers/host folks are always nice, have helpful advice for any dietary restrictions which this time my dining pal had. Lily wasn't there this time but the nice man covering was as pleasant and as helpful as she always is. This is worth a trip to my neighborhood! Local, fresh, all things yummy, but not like much of Portland dining: these folks make you feel welcome!!!
This was our second brunch visit to Radar. We loved it just as much! The food is made from fresh, quality ingredients and tastes like someone cares. Nothing is overly fatty, oily, or too saucy, and everything has a an elevated made-from-scratch flavor. The menu is interesting, so a good spot for foodies. This is NOT diner food! The atmosphere is cozy, with lots of tables for two in a very narrow space. The staff is friendly and knowledgable about the ingredients. They are gracious but busy - you might have to flag someone to get another carafe of water or coffee refill. Worth it.
We just love Radar. This time, we enjoyed the butter lettuce salad with green goddess dressing, the beef tartare, the rockfish entree (moist perfection), the apple galette and the cherry-chocolate-chili pot de creme. The hosts are warm and welcoming and sitting at the counter is truly "dinner and a show."
This is a special place! Food and service are both fabulous. Food is beautifully prepared and served. One of the owners is the main server and her husband the main chef. Everything about the place is welcoming and comforting. Food is french-influenced and focused on local ingredients. A neighborhood gem that we will be returning to often!
We loved Radar. The service was really spectacular. This is a small operation and I love that. They do everything well. Can't wait to return.
Drinks were awesome, food was just ok. Ambiance was great. Service was not great, but it was an interesting/sad day for the neighborhood.
Our first time at Radar and we will definitely return. We went there for their 3 course Portland Dining Month menu. The food was delicious, the service attentive without being cloying and we liked the intimate feeling of the restaurant. A really nice find!
Loved everything about this place. Cant watit to try their patio in the summer!!
Cute spot, nice staff, good food. Went there for brunch and will do it again.
The key to the excessive praise is the personality of the staff. I’ll leave it at that: you know who you are.
Welcomed warmly upon entering the restaurant and seated at the bar with a lovely cocktail while we waited for the table to be ready. Food was delicious and drinks were tasty. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We didn’t feel rushed or ignored they had great timing.
Food was great but there was a long wait in between corses
One of my favorite go to places for brunch. Food is always great. Service can sometimes be a little slow and we sometimes have to wait a bit to place our order.
Absolutely wonderful !!!! Food was beyond delicious. Just a great experience.
Always amazing food! Extraordinary staff and owners who care about your dining experience!. Highly recommend and fortunate to have this gem in our neighborhood!
Service was a little slow in terms of getting our drink and food order but we weren’t in a hurry and the food was great as usual. One of my top go to places for brunch.
This place is fine, but nothing really to write home about.
Lovely spot for brunch, food and service were great! Being able to make reservations made delicious brunch on a Sunday in Portland possible for a bunch of ladies with more plans for the day.
RadarPDX never disappoints... innovative and fun, good service and tasty food. Recommended.
PS: Parking can be tricky, allot a little extra time.
Good food and attentive service.
Solid technique / execution for most dishes. Cauliflower fritter was a bit bland, but the house-made gravlax was excellent, as was the rockfish. Balanced, well made cocktail, and wine suggestion was good pairing with fish.
Narrow, almost uncomfortably cramped spot that is BIG on creativity and flavor! We loved our brunch, and glad we trekked over to this neighborhood to check it out. Food was interesting and fresh. Will definitely eat there again when in Portland. PS. Really appreciated being able to confirm a reservation via Open Table!
Delicious dining; lovely atmosphere and perfect staff!
Radar is our go-to place to bring out of town guests. It's friendly, intimate, yet busy and energetic. The food is always on point (that salted licorice ice cream? GASP), it's local, it's simply prepared but delicious and inventive. The service is always fantastic. If you haven't been, go. If you like brunch, GO. Just make a reservation first or you'll be disappointed.
I can't wait to go back to Radar. It'll be hard not to reorder exactly what we just had: the Butter Lettuce Salad with Green Goddess Dressing, the Steak Frites, and the unbelievable Bone In Pork Chop with Creamy Polenta. The steak came with a fabulous Bordelaise Sauce as well as an Aioli for dipping the wonderful crispy frites. The pork chop, which I believe was brined, was so juicy and flavorful, I dreamt about it. I wish I could remember everything in that dish's description, but I'm sure that if there's a pork chop on the menu, you'll be happy if you order it. We drank a lovely Corsican Rose and enjoyed every drop of it, too. I'd say this meal was quite memorable!
This place pulled off a miracle; there were 6 adults and 1 toddler. Everyone loved their meals. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Radar has fantastic food in a cozy environment. The staff is friendly and provides a high level of service. This is one of my favorites for a nice occasion or fancy date night. Weekend brunch is also incredible.
Thoroughly enjoyed the food and our entire dining experience. The three of us each had a different entree - one had steak frites, another had the pork chop and the third had the rockfish. All three dishes were quite tasty. We will return!
The food is simply outstanding with each dish well done. The service is top notch and the environs are good. There is a heater under your seat if you sit in the windows, but it can get really warm after an hour or so. Staff is more than willing to accommodate dietary needs/preferences. We will definitely be back!
Must-have is the smoked pork shoulder or the frittata of the day.
The food and service at Radar is the best on Mississippi. Fried cornichons with buttermilk sauce that had a hint of tarragon will ruin you for fried pickles. The pork shank was crispy on the outside and fall apart tender on the inside. I highly recommend the poached pair with blue cheese crisp. The sweet with the savory is a beautiful combination. If you haven't been to Radar yet you should make a reservation today.
We will definitely be back! We didn’t get mains but opted to share a bunch of small plates! We loved all the food including: Pork shoulder with grit cakes, deviled eggs three way (super creamy and amazing filling), beef tartare was a HUGE portion and our favorite dish of the night, bluefish pãté with pickles was yummy, and the shrimp fried with this crazy flavorful batter and zesty aioli. Fun cocktails, wine and beer so there is something on the drink menu for everyone. The food was definitely the highlight but we also really enjoyed the counter style/open kitchen. It provides a casual atmosphere but still Would be great for any date night. Thanks for the great service and food!
It was just great! Our server was friendly, the open kitchen was fun to watch. The pork shoulder was delicious. Whatever you do- have that.
Absolutely superb! Went with a group of 6 people and each person raved about their meal. It was a huge hit! The duck, beef cheek, and pork were especially divine. We are already planning on going back!
