About
Came for brunch, the coffee cocktail and Bloody Mary delicious and came promptly. Waitress was willing to give input on menu items and suggestions. Food came out hot and everything was very tasty. The atmosphere was comfortable and conversation was easy - background noise level good.
This was a lovely, romantic restaurant to have our one year anniversary dinner at. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. My only recommendation is to include more vegan options, but other than that, we had a great time eating at Radar.
Perfection
Love that they take reservations for brunch! Hard to find in Portland. Service was great! We were seated promptly and checked on multiple times while we waited for the rest of our party. Wait staff were friendly and happy to provide recommendations. All four of us loved our food. Good variety and balanced portions. Left feeling satisfied but not like I needed a nap. It’s a small space so not great for big groups, but for our group of 4 it was great. Definitely recommend!
Always a great experience at Radar. Love this place for a cozy brunch or a tasty dinner. They've met my entire family for a reason!
I love Radar. We love to support local owners and Radar’s owners are so welcoming, accommodating and friendly. Sharing beautifully created and yummy food is also fantastic. I would highly recommend them for a low-key, enjoyable evening.
Very warm welcome by the staff. Excellent food and service.
Visiting our daughter and son in law in beautiful Portland. Very nice evening. Food was good. Service was very good.
Great meal! Rabbit was amazing, squash soup with crab was also great! The staff was personable and welcoming. Highly recommend Radar!
Radar never, ever disappoints...and quite frequently surprises my palate with new twists on dishes. Our last visit was a perfect example with the curried squash soup topped by blue crab and other deliciousness. (I don’t even like squash, and I practically licked the bowl clean.) The owners, Jonathon and Lily, are lovely, as are all the people they hire. Longtime standouts are Johnny (front of house and wine buyer) and Cam, who manages the kitchen when Jonathon is away.
Radar is small - best for couples/small groups. Nice, cozy ambiance. If you haven’t been, what are you waiting for?!
Really great food, great atmosphere. Service was adequate. Value for money, also adequate. Good cocktails.
Radar is one of our favorite places. It's our go-to for everything from weeknight date nights to special occasions. We love taking new folks there and introducing them to Johnny and the amazing staff. We can't say enough about Radar. The food is always interesting and changes frequently enough to still be excited to eat there at least once a month. It's a neighborhood gem and I'm excited that they're still around after all these years.
Amazing food and service. Awesome menu choices.
We brought a friend and our daughter to Radar for brunch, a favorite of ours. As always, we each loved our meals and also the plates that we ordered to share as a table (granola/grapefruit, fry bread, and to finish, clafoutis). I appreciate how the kitchen was willing to handle my request (again!). We love how the food is thoughtful but not pretentious, how the servings are enough but not grossly huge... Thanks to Jonathan and Lily especially for creating a smart, welcoming space for a casually elegant and palate-pleasing meal. :-)
Always awesome. Never fails. Loved it all.
Note to all wait staff out there, when a patron asks for the Must haves on the menu, tell them your favorites or most popular. Don’t say everything on the menu is delicious cause chances are, not so much.
Food was mediocre at best. Very hip, fun, open venue but wait staff and food quality were some of the worst I have had in Portland. Too bad.
Unique decor, unique cuisine, just a lovely and unconventional yet still warm and inviting experience overall.
Never ever disappointed !!
All was great except waiting for 40 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Free cider helped with the wait, but wait was excessive and reduced my likelihood of returning if time is an issue
Radar never fails to please! It’s a restaurant, it’s a bar—relax, it’s both! It’s consistently delicious with a menu that changes enough to be interesting but retains some tried and true dishes worth ordering again and again. Johnny and his team provide first rate service and he can help you pair just the right wine with your meal. Owners Lily and Jonathan (chef) have created a gem. I almost don’t want to tell you how good it is because I don’t want it to get any harder than it is to get a reservation! Just go, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
Delicious food and drinks. New favorite for brunch
Food took a long time. Server was excellent, food was very good. We had a gas the first time; this time was more so-so.
In a wonderfully funky area of Portland, very non-assuming atmosphere, with only 2 waitresses, 3 cooks, they, very friendly, efficiently and speedy took care of 30 guests. No complaints. Lots of congratulations. I recommend it highly. I hope they can keep this level of quality and service. The food was superb, worth of a picture contest. 👏👏👏
Really loved the vibe and food but a bit on the pricy side...$90 (w tip) for 2 meals, 2 Prosecco and a screwdriver. We had the brisket and one was very fatty the other better. May go back, great service! Thank you for taking reservations!!
I love dining at Radar, one of my favorite places to go when I get a night out! Thanks Lily and Jonathan for creating such a wonderful space!
Yummy food, great service and a table by the window was really quiet!
Food delicious and different with an eclectic set of flavors and ingredients. Pork shoulder was delicious, as was the mussels and fries. But the dish that was the best overall was the roasted carrots! Delicious and unique.
Our server was wonderful, attentive and quick without being overbearing. Watching the open kitchen was quite fun. It gets a bit noisy between that and the Prince Purple Rain soundtrack that was playing, but overall a fun, glad-to-be-here vibe. Seating is generally at bar style tables or the counter, with a couple of more traditional sit down tables.
Great food, service, and drinks.
Lovely service and amazingly great food. One of our favorite dining experiences in Portland.
Really liked Radar, the bone marrow and tomato/melon salad were my favorite! Highly recommend :)
Food was fabulous. Staff was great. We went for a birthday celebration and everyone really enjoyed it, we ended up staying a lot longer than expected. Never felt rushed.
We are regulars at Radar since they opened and love the cuisine and crew very much. You can always depend on the crew to be efficient and knowledgeable and also attentive and friendly. Not that corporate kind of friendly but genuine good people who want you to feel welcome and cared for. The kitchen is a well oiled machine that puts out some of the most tasty complex and fresh food in town. The chefs are always communicating with each other and keeping the flow of food on track and even sometimes deliver to you us personally with a proud smile because they know their high standards are always met. Tonight’s special was Fisherman’s Stew and it was nostalgic and rich with flavor without being too heavy. I always do my best to be heart healthy with my choices and they live up to that in diamonds. They have great in house cocktails for any mood you might be in and a curated wine list by a sommelier who is extremely knowledgeable and full of sass which we love. This is in my opinion the best restaurant in my neighborhood if not Portland and I recommend it regularly.
I hate to give a GREAT review because I actually love how unstated they are so let me just say 10/10, every single time.
Great food, service...we will definitely be going back!
Amazing one of the best, authentic, exquisite and delicious restaurants that I’ve been to in years.
Definitely get a reservation for brunch! And have a Mini Mary! Great food and drink options span all the usual breakfast choices...very creative, though! Fair prices, really friendly staff. Go!
Get the cinnamon sugar fry bread!
Imaginative, varied menu for brunch and the preparation was excellent. Everyone in our group of six was happy with their meal.
My husband and I love this restaurant. The sidewalk tables are fun in the summertime but the restaurant itself is so welcoming and it just feels good to be there. The plucot (plum) with ricotta dish is exceptional. It's a great appy. but I would happily eat it for dessert. The baby carrot dish is amazing as is the poussin (small chicken) dish. You can tell the chefs really enjoy creating interesting dishes. Plus the servers are super and the service is attentive but not overbearing. A real little gem on Mississippi!
Great service and great food!!
