We were a group of international students, some of us from France, and missing our home food so much that we decided to come here. The service was very qualitative, so was the food (we all had a "traditional Raclette").
We were just a little surprised by the quantity in the plates, for 20$ I think the restaurant could add few more slices of cheese and some additional potatoes. But still that the food was very good, almost the same taste as in France, I would recommend !!
I adore Raclettes. Lovely food and great service. We had a fantastic bottle of red wine from the Languedoc. Perfect!
We had a very enjoyable evening. We’ll be back with friends.
Great place for a date. My wife and I try to do weekly date nights. Went to Raclettes that past Friday as we enjoy going here occasionally for the good food and the fun we have making and eating our Raclette meal. At Raclettes you have a choice of a regular prepared French cuisine type meal or a meal that you assemble by heating
up meats and vegetables then placing on a crepe with cheese that you have melted. If you go with the Raclette meal a small electric cooking utensil is placed on your table along with a board of meats and cheeses and a bowl of par boiled potatoes. You cut up the potatoes to brown on top of the little stove, then heat up the meats. You melt your cheese in a small tray that goes below the cooking area and then assemble everything in a crepe. This makes for a fun evening while talking and making your meal. We started out red wine flights and an appetizer of mussels and fries. The wine flights are reasonably priced and the wine is of a decent quality. Each flight came with 4 small glasses of wine the we both enjoyed. The mussels and fries were very good. The portion of mussels was quite generous. We then enjoyed our meal and the time spent talking and laughing while putting our meals together. From past experience we found that one board of meats and cheeses is enough for us. I suggest starting with one and adding a 2nd if your still hungry. We finished the evening with a Crème Brûlée. While very good the crackly sugar top was way too thick and hard. This may have been a onetime incident because I don't remember this previously being an issue. I'll try this dessert again when dining here in the future. I highly recommend dining here for the good food, friendly staff and for the fun evening. Prices are very reasonable.
While we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our meals were good. The French onion soup was just so so. Also, there needs to be more coverage when a server gets busy to allow for ease of payment.
This was our first visit. The food was excellent and the portions large. Our waiter was helpful with our guestions. He was very attentive to us throughout our meal. I will return and also recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Dinner before show at Shea’s Buffalo
We did not even eat... They sat us and we waited over 15 minutes and no one even took a drink order. No server approached the table, nothing. We left, as we had theater tickets and did not have all night to be waited on. Very disappointing.
We were seated promptly for reservation. Server was friendly, took drink orders right away. Promptly Returned to take our dinner order and informed us that the house specialty, beef bourguignon, was not available due to an ordering mistake. We were very disappointed and ordered the coq au vin instead. 30 minutes later our appetizers and dinner arrived at the same time. We ordered Raclette for appetizer. It was very tasty but barely had enough cheese on it to cover the potatoes. The coq au vin is a chicken dish that is braised in a wine sauce with potatoes and vegetables. It was flavorless, needed salt and seasoning and vegetables were undercooked. The wine sauce was watery and flavorless as well. The chef of a French bistro should not have sent out a meal like that! We informed the waiter of our dissatisfaction . He kindly brought us a plate of four macarons and took ten dollars off the bill. I will probably never go back.
What a disaster! We ordered mushroom (vegetarian) cassoulet as our entree and the male server brought my husband and I regular cassoulet, with lamb in it. We asked him to please have it remade and, after some attitude, he brought it back to the kitchen. Twenty minutes later we were served cold slop! At least my husband had some vegetables and beans in his - mine looked like canned dog food! We again spoke to Mr. Attitude and this time he was a bit nicer. He brought the dishes back to the kitchen, came back out and advised that the owner was being called and there was no charge for our salads and my husband's escargot. So, since we were heading to the theater we didn't have any time for dinner anywhere else! Needless to say, we will not be going back!
Great place! The only reason I gave three stars for service is because there is only one bartender and it takes a long time to order a drink. Need two bartenders on weekend. Wait staff was great and food delicious.
Our first time at Raclette’s. The ambiance was casual, and the bar is open to the dining area. It is a cosy place, so reservations are a must on a weekend. The service was very good. Our waiter was French, and French music played in the background. It reminded me of my visit to Quebec. My cassoulet was delicious and chock full of meat, more than I expected for the price. My husband appreciated the fromage on the dessert menu, as he doesn’t eat much sweets. I would dine here again. I’d like to try a raclette board sometime.
We had cocktails at the bar and then dinner. The ambiance looking out at Main Street is very nice. The wine and beer selection are excellent. The food and service were great.
Food was great. Go for high chair because too noisy in back.
We have really come to enjoy Raclette's for pre-theatre dining. They offer an excellent variety of French cuisine, as well as very reasonably priced, good quality wine.
Wonderful experience again. Enjoy coming here before Shea’s. Service is very good. Food is delicious.
Excellent dining experience from making the reservation to enjoying the fine food, would recommend.
This place is adorable. Great menu. Excellent service.
Loved the food choices, escargots were wonderful as was the salmon. Enjoyed the wine and the desserts were delicious and reasonably priced - we chose the Nutella crepe and creme brûlée share - both great. Somewhat loud on a Friday night and we thought the table for two was too long for having a private conversation. Would definitely go again, though!
It was truly a great meal! The food was cooked to perfection!!
Our server was the best too!!
Raclettes dinner was just wonderful. 3 people in our party had the Beef Bourgeon and 1 had the rack of lamb. The crepes for desert were wonderful. Great experience, only negative is that we were seated near the kitchen door.
We had a fantastic meal here. The food and service were terrific. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly come the next time I’m in Buffalo
Friendly staff and outstanding food in the heart of downtown Buffalo. Highly recommend the Montmartre.
Wonderful time, excellent food and great service
Great food! Sophisticated and trendy. Love it! Service is always outstanding!!
I love this restaurant! The service is just outstanding, with knowledgeable and attentive waitstaff. I've been here twice but had the same thing to eat both times...Swiss raclette. It's very good, but it doesn't stretch the chef at all. I'll be coming back soon to try more of the menu. It's lovely to have a touch of France in Buffalo...love the black napkins.
Great food ! I loved it , my new favourite place!
Great server made our evening memorable :) Would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys fine dining and french food!
Everything took a very long time. We were there 2 1/2hours. I don't think the food we received was worth the price. I know we chose the cook your own option at the table but the price seemed like a lot for a few vegetables that you cooked yourself. I guess it was fun to try but wouldn't go again.
Our party of 4 had a wonderful evening, the cheeses were amazing, as were the cocktails
Food was superb, portions were a little small though. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I would come back to.
I wanted to go for brunch , we get there . They state that the kitchen closes at 2:30pm , I advised that I made a reservation . They grab the hostess he took us and stated we could be served but the kitchen stops cooking at 2:45 , I ask why were allowed to have a reservation for 2:30 if the kitchen was closed ? He stated it was the last brunch and was extremely rude . I picked something quick to order the French toast croissants , he states we are out of croissants my apologizes . I could tell her was just trying to rush me out so I didn’t have anything I finished my drink . My girlfriend wanted a cheese and onion omelette that wasn’t one of the options . She said she’s pay extra but they stated no just want we have listed . So she got just cheese , did not check on us , spilled my Mimosa flight . Wish they would of had better customer service was there before and loved it
We really enjoyed our meal.
That was my second time and I've say that the quality of food has dropped, one of the specials wasn't French at all.
I had next day breakfast and same negative experience.
However, overall fro Buffalo a decent restaurant
We totally enjoy our meal ! Once a month my siblings, spouses and myself have dinner at a new restaurant. Florian was our server. He was very attentive, explained the menu choices and his service was outstanding. Our meals were delicious !! Definitely will return here
Raclettes continues to be one of the best restaurants in the Buffalo area.
We sat at the bar, Kate was perfect. Food was fast and prepared well. We did a Charcuterie board, wine, and a couple apps. Portions were large.
The food was amazing as was the friendliness of the server. Unfortunately the service was painfully slow. We watched our drinks sit on the bar for at least 10 minutes before the bartender brought them over to us because our server wasn't around.
I will definitely visit again but hope the service will be faster.
Bastille day brunch with trivia contest and costumes was lots of fun
