Executive Chef Diego Moya's menu can neither be described as particularly French, nor particularly American. Here there is a strong focus on being vegetable forward, and working with local and sustainable farms, ranches, and fisheries. Featuring about a dozen small plates, a handful of entrées for one and a couple for two, Racines NY offers a flexible dining experience. Guests are strongly encouraged to order “pour la table,” but more than welcome to order individually à la carte.
Organic, biodynamic, natural vinifications, and small estates. These are the hallmarks of our world reknowned Wine List, 2000+ bottles deep, which is French-centric but global, curated by Pascaline Lepeltier, MOF.

We had two of their specials that night, one with scallops and the other with quail. They were both exceptional.
OK, the wine list is spectacular and actually some good values, but the food is outstanding as is the service and atmosphere. This is one of our goto places when we visit NYC
Racines has a remarkable array of appetizer/small dishes, unique in my experience. The mains are equally great. We had the trout dish and the special cabbage dish. Both outstanding. Pascaline, the sommelier, recommended two great wines to go with our dishes. What an outstanding experience!
As always Racines is worth the trip for excellent food, wonderful wines and attentive service. A covid safe spot that’s worthy of a trip by the Michelin star givers.
Some of the best food I’ve had in NYC. Imaginative, culinary, simple. Also, inclusive and extensive wine list of new new American school wines and terroir driven European. Will be coming back.
Our food, service and wine were impeccable!
Excellent, always changing by the glass wine list and unique dishes with ingredients sometimes familiar, sometimes new. Fantastic service. Plus they have always explained each wine really clearly and without pretension!
Racines is one of NYC's best restaurants. Diego Moya and his team have created some of the most thoughtful, unique, and delicious dishes in the city, with the barley+smoked yogurt dish in the running for one NYC's best new dishes of 2021. And then the wine list is the modern oenophile's dream playground, full of exciting and diverse options from all over the world. The only problem is finding time to peruse it without being rude to the rest of the table...luckily, that's where Pascaline comes in. It seems to almost pain her to have to make a decision for you without any guidance, as she's well aware that her selection is overflowing with awesome options. But once she gets a feel for your comfort zone, she hones in and delivers with perfect precision.
Food was ok.
Super meal, great wine and service. Scallop tartar w.spring peas and mint ... mmmm
The food was delicious. One of the best wine lists in the city. Really good service and great atmosphere.
Food excellent, service tends to be a big miss.
Chef Diego Moya never stops to amaze me; the tartare had a subtle and balanced spiciness and the duck breast was outstanding. Impeccable service and great wine pairing tips from Pascaline Lepeltier.
Amazing food, wine, and service ! Pascaline is a kind humble genius !
Outstanding cuisine which challenges your intellect and tastebuds. The combination of ingredients sounds weird but is almost always pitch perfect.
Though I've been visiting this restaurant ever since it opened, each time I return I have been pleasantly surprised by the outstanding food. Our last visit (hiramasu, squid, duck, buttermilk tart) was so satisfying that we'll be returning more frequently.
Great service, food and wine. Cannot ask for a better meal!
Once again, superlative food, wine and service. Cannot recommend enough. Great restaurant, out of many others available in NYC
One of the best wine lists in the city if not in the world. Plus one of the finest sommeliers. A short menu, very well conceived and superbly executed. Service both friendly and professional. Wonderful!
Superb food, staff and wine. The food engages not just your taste buds but also your mind. Pascaline and team are jewels of the downtown dining scene.
Our special neighborhood place -- elevated, elegant, warm, innovative, friendly. We're so glad they're still here: Racines is one of the best restaurants in the city.
What a delightful experience. Extraordinary wine list and such knowledgeable service. Wine list also very good value for money.
A limited but very well selected menu with excellent cooking and assured service. This used to be a busy successful and noisy restaurant. Sadly or happily with 35 or 50 % dining it is serene currently. Hi and enjoy this special ambience while you can! And don’t choose your own wine- let the team do it for you and you will be rewarded.
One of the best sommelier ever
great great great
Sublime food, friendly highly knowledgeable service, all in all the best meal I’ve had in one year.
The wine also is like none other.
My first indoor dining experience since March, and it was a great choice to dip back inside. I felt completely safe with all of the precautions they've taken. And Pascaline's wine selections were as stellar as always. Sad to think of all the great restaurants that have shuttered since last spring, but thank goodness Racines has made it through!
Racines post covid-19 is even better than before. Chef Diego came up with new tasty dishes. His work on vegetables is still astonishing; I tried the daikon which was exquisite. And the wine list run by Pascaline is still as impressive as before.
We ate at Racine's their last night of service before closing for a limited period of time.
We began with two off-the-menu appetizers followed by duck and steelhead trout, both good but not as good as their original presentations. To close, a sorbet: interesting. Lovely wine: Burgundy: Guillot Les Crays.
We hope to see you again as soon as possible.
Chef Diego X Pascaline one of the best teams in NYC rn, game changing!!
Fabulous food and wine. Highly recommend.
Lovely service, creative food, responsible COVID measures. Try the new pork entre!
Fantastic welcome, superb food, warm service, great great wine. A pleasure as always. We had terrrine and hiramasa to start and duck plus cabbage for mains. Cabbage is superb. What they do with veg here is peerless.
Cozy welcome, cozy atmosphere; prompt service, attentive service, safe service, delicious food, elegantly presented; true wines thoughtfully and meticulously shared.
The wine list is incredible.
Unbelievable and unforgettable meal. The attention to detail within each carefully crafted dish speaks volumes of this entire restaurant's approach to dining. Our server, Ellis, was charming, knowledgable, and sweet. His friendly approach to chatting through the wine list, and having fun with me--a budding wine connoisseur--was a welcome surprise. Racines is fine dining quality sans pretense or condescension. It was truly hard to leave at the end of the night, we almost ordered a third bottle. Five out of five stars all the way around.
Even in covid times and limited menu offerings, the service and food was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions. Will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful, creative and thoughtfully prepared food--by a great chef, Diego and an incredible sommelier, Pascaline Lepeltier. Great starters: Red Dragon Carrots with Fermented Tomato and Hazelnut; and Hiramasa (raw fish); fresh Pomegranate and Romanesco broccoli. Mains: Steelhead Trout with roasted and raw Radish and Horseradish; and Duck Breast with Fermented Mustard Greens and white Sweet Potato.
The wines were absolutely exceptional and original--we love to learn about and taste great wines with Pascaline. Please go!
Amazing experience with Pascaline Lepeltier
Fantastic, inventive food and an outstanding sommelier and wine selection. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Been our favorite place for a long time, and we are so glad that they were able to reopen.
