Executive Chef Diego Moya's menu can neither be described as particularly French, nor particularly American. Here there is a strong focus on being vegetable forward, and working with local and sustainable farms, ranches, and fisheries. Featuring about a dozen small plates, a handful of entrées for one and a couple for two, Racines NY offers a flexible dining experience. Guests are strongly encouraged to order “pour la table,” but more than welcome to order individually à la carte.
Organic, biodynamic, natural vinifications, and small estates. These are the hallmarks of the Wine List, 2800 bottles deep, which is French-centric but global, curated by Arnaud Tronche and Master Sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier. Over 20 selections by-the-glass doesn’t hurt either.

Best wine list in NYC with tons of hidden gems, you’ve just have to ask for advice, Arnaud & Pasqualine will always find a bottle that you will love. And to pair with your glass, fabulous plates by Diego. Portions are just right, flavorful, innovative.
We had a business dinner / interview, the noise level was also perfect
The food was delicious and the wine menu was great.
Très bon accueil.
Carte des vins magnifique
Disponibilité et sympathie du patron
Wonderful, creative flavors.
A memorable evening with outstanding food and terrific service. Many thanks!
My wife and I had an extraordinary dinner here. We sat at the counter adjoining the kitchen so we had ringside seats! The food, wine and service were all outstanding. One piece of advice: put your wine selections in the hands of the beverages director, Pascaline Lepeltier. You can’t go wrong!
I have been back many evening and a great place to unwind. Excellent selection of wines. I enjoyed the Domaine des Amphores syrah and the cinsault
Food and service was excellent. The chef prepared a vegetarian dish for my wife and my duck breast was prepared flawlessly. Wine list is well thought out and a Burgundy nuts paradise. Highly Recommended.
Arnaud and his team are masters at what they do. The food is constantly great, the wines suggested are thoughtful and the service is expedient. You could go elsewhere to a similar restaurant (one michelin star) and pay 2x. Racines is a gem.
Dinner at Racines is always a wonderful experience. The menu changes often, reflecting the seasonal availability of local, high quality ingredients. Vegetables are a focus here, and their flavors are brought to fullest potential by Chef Diego Moya and his talented kitchen team. Standout proteins are the Steelhead Trout, and duck breast. The trout on this visit had a perfect crispy skin done over a charcoal grill, while the flesh was a tender medium rare. It was finished with colorful flower petals adding an attractive autumnal theme to the plate. Grilled cabbage topped a mouthwateringly delicious duck breast. A rich coconut sorbet with fig leaf oil was a refreshing desert to end another outstanding meal. The wine program at Racines is exceptional. The list is extensive, featuring biodynamic and small producers from regions throughout the world. The staff are all dedicated industry professionals and their knowledge of food and wine is among the best anywhere. Service, as always was friendly and attentive. I cant say enough about Racines and can't wait for my next visit!
Attentive, exceptionally knowledgeable service. Diego Moya’s cooking and Arnaud and Pascaline’s wine list make for an unbeatable combination.
Amazing experience! Food and atmosphere was perfect. We can't wait to return!
Phenomenal food (haven't been since the program changed over) - everything was delicious, interesting, and great with wine.
Our server was super hospitable, gracious, and thoughtful in how he served our BYO wines.
Overall wonderful experience.
90min without food!
The food was good and the service too.
Where chefs go to eat according to a friend in the businesses; go and find out why, especially if subtlety and texture are your jam.
Easily my favorite restaurant in NYC! The wine list is amazing, service is awesome and food fantastic.
Great food and service, great advice on wines, nice ambiance, perfect place for dinner.
Excellent wine list, bad service, OK food
Racines is a hidden treasure. Wines are excellent and food/sauces are fabulous. It’s pricey but worth it
Pascaline Lepelletier à son meilleur niveau.
Elle nous a fait découvrir un vin géorgien incroyable.
Super restaurant. Ambiance incroyable.
Merci à Pascaline.
Great food, stunning wine and wonderful service in a cool place!
Favorite restaurant in all of NYC! Chef Moya is a creative genius and uses only the freshest and best ingredients in inventively delicious, mouth-watering ways. Great ambience for a special occasion or regular/everyday dining. The wine list is phenomenal, as are the cocktails.
Thank you, we had the beat time! Wine and good were delicious, and service was exceptional!
French type gastronomic cooking, with a selection of excellent wines.
Great food and service.
Food was very good and quick. Cooked well. Can’t say anything negative about the experience
Great food, terrific service, wonderful ambiance. Always a pleasure. Great place to bring people from out of town. Informal and very welcoming.
Chief Diego and his talented team did not disappoint nor did Pascaline Pelletier who personally served our wine pairings. Farm to table ingredients and biodynamic organic wine pairings. What a treat!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome and took care of us. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. Pascaline Lepeltier perfectly paired a wine with our meal and could not have been more gracious. This was our first time to visit, and we will definitely return. I highly recommend.
The food was amazing. All the appetizers are spectacular, the lentils and the leaks are my favorite. The wine list is as comprehensive as it can get and the staff very helpful. I loved it.
Excellent service (Jonah); excellent food. SUPERB EXPERIENCE
Great food, fantastic wine list and by the glass and wonderful service all in a comfortable space. What more could you ask for?
We met the chef and he was so friendly. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. The food was very creative and unique. My favorite was the duck and Fried Artichokes. Dessert was okay and I didn't care for the consistency of the pannacotta.
We were here two nights in a row and love it. The food is outstanding as well as the service and wine list!
Fab food, Fab wine, great service, great peeps, love this place
The heirloom tomatoes in nduja dressing with padron peppers were the epitome of summer. Don't miss the coconut sorbet either; it's refreshing while creamy, fruity, and full of toasty flavors. Everything was delicious and some things were sublime. It's an evening of special food that doesn't feel stuffy or pretentious.
Another impressive dining adventure at Racines! Everything was delicious and on point. I loved the lentils with creme fraiche as well as the cured fluke. The fig panna cotta with a strawberry gelee' was the perfect end to the meal. Ingredients are all fresh and high quality, with clean flavors layered in each dish. Wine is a focal point at Racines, with an impressive selection at all price points; never sacrificing quality. Service was friendly and attentive as usual.
The lentil starter dish was very bad. The creme fresh destroys the dish
