The Rabot Terrace brings the Saint Lucian party spirit to London this summer! The open-air dining space is a free spirit just like a Saint Lucian ‘jump-up’. A relaxing island get-together for drinks, food and music outdoors after sunset. Please specify a terrace booking in the special request box.
At heart of London’s most exciting food market, Rabot 1745 offers a ‘cacao cuisine’ menu featuring contemporary dishes influenced by the West Indies and Britain, with the savoury richness of cacao used as a subtle garnish, infusion and spice throughout.
Really lovely evening here, fantastic really tasty food, extremely attentive service and lovely ambience on the outside terrace within Borough Market, highly recommended!
Such a lovely and hospitable experience. The food was very delectable, it was quite exciting to know that everything had been infused with chocolate one way or another. The service was prompt and after we had finished we could lounge around drinking MORE scrumptious hot chocolate. My friend and I had the best time - love Hotel Chocolat and eat nothing else when it comes to chocolate. Yum
The staff couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful. The food was delicious without being overly chocolates. A really enjoyable experience for a special occasion.
Overall very good. A bit noisy due to the Borough Market (bin lorries emptying). Food was far too salty.
Great value, amazing deserts. Thanks to the friendly staff
Food was lovely and the waiter who served us was very friendly and professional. Woukd definitely come back again.
Great for the atmosphere, breakfast was not as good value as expected. Better off with pastries and hot chocolate or coffee from downstairs rather than the breakfast in the restaurant.
Food, drinks and service were all fabulous. Definitely recommend. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Great drink choices and the restaurant very comfortable and clean.
I will return and thoroughly recommend. Lovely staff helped make our evening memorable.
Sadly only 2 of the 3 meals were edible. Medium Rare lamb does not equate to raw/cold meat in the centre. Waitress took it back and all credit they brought a new meal out. the plate was too hot to touch but the lamb was uncooked except for a slight colouring on the outside so it was sent back again. They managed this well by taking the cost of the meal and one desert off the bill, but I canot justify taking guests there again. Its a pity, it was excellent last year when we went
Great venue overlooking Borough Market, food beautifully presented and tasty. Our waiter was brilliant, made a special occasion fun and super enjoyable.
Lovely food, great service, great location, just not very busy so a bit quiet!
This was our second visit to Rabot 1745 after a gap of some years. We would have returned sooner, had it been more practical for us to do so.
Our waiter, Marco, was proactive in recommending dishes that my wife could eat, having informed the restaurant of my wife’s dietary requirements at the point of booking (intolerances for egg, wheat and dairy). He also went the extra mile to ensure her name was added to the birthday greeting piped onto the slate that her dessert was served on.
The food was sublime. I had the roast beef and Yorkshire pudding starter served with white chocolate mash, followed by the Bois Bande chicken, which was quite frankly the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my entire life!
Worth every penny.
The noise from the nearby railway line was a bit annoying at times, but overall the atmosphere around Borough Market is lovely and lively, even in the evening when the stalls are closed.
Can’t wait to return.
Excellent, friendly and efficient service. Great choice of dishes and food all tasting so good, especially the Mac N Cheese! Lovely and peaceful sitting out in the terrace too. Would definitely recommend!
Only problem the noise from the trains. The food was delicious and the cheerful and friendly. The restaurant is perched above borough market , which is fascinating .
The food was amazing and we had a great evening, it’s not a cheap evening but the food is top quality. I was surprised how scruffy other people were dressed and this made Rabot feel less special if you are going out for a romantic meal. You can not fault the food though!
Only reason for low score for ambience and noise was due to noise of clean up from borough market when we arrived at approx 19:30, however, we asked to be moved inside and this was accommodated and was much quieter inside. Brilliant service- staff knowledgeable about the dishes, fast service and the food was delicious! Would definitely visit again and recommended to others
Lovely restaurant with exceptional service. Our waiter could not do enough for us. The food was interesting and flavourful, however it was quite sickly having cocao in every dish and when dessert came my chocolate addiction was truly sated. The food was very well presented and price was reasonable.
Exceptional food, cocktails and service. Our waiter Marco was great and made the experience all the better!
Absolutely brilliant visit to Rabot 1745. We couldn’t resist the Afternoon Tea of the Gods and we weren’t disappointed! A selection of dainty sandwiches, scones with chocolate spread, jam and clotted cream - the chocolate spread really brought out the flavour of the jam, together with a cherry and chocolate opera cake, vanilla and strawberry mousse/cheesecake and some lovely Hotel Chocolat chocolates. Clever use of cocoa throughout every element of the tea - don’t expect everything to taste chocolates! I chose a white chocolate and vanilla iced chocolate to drink - divine! We were told we could have more sandwiches, jam, cream, chocolate spread and drink refills but there was just the right amount. We polished everything off without feeling over-full but we certainly didn’t need any more! We were served by Marco who was brilliant - attentive and friendly and keep replacing our water without us even asking (it was a really hot day so the ice kept melting). 200% recommend!
The food was super so compliments to the chef. I’m vegetarian and my partner a carnivore so the menu suited us both. For us the last Friday of the month is our chance to dine somewhere different and have an evening together: something we don’t get to do that often.
We were left disappointed with the service. We booked a table for 9pm to accommodate the venues own schedule (we originally booked 9.30 as an available slot), we were then left standing at the top of the stairs on arrival waiting to be seated and from there on in we felt rushed to order and pay. We were told last orders were being taken just as we finished our starters so we ordered our drinks for the rest of the evening. An hour later last orders were called again. No sooner than the desert plate was taken than the waiter appeared with the card machine to collect payment. We were not the last at the venue and others hadn’t paid at that point either.
When chefs work that hard to produce such great food it’s a real shame the rest of the team don’t aspire to the same standards. Would recommend Rabot 1745 for the food but avoid taking a late table as you may get better service.
Lovely food and very accommodating, friendly staff.
White chocolate mash was amazing. Food was overall good but not spectacular. We had higher expectations. Food was very low on salt and not too rich in flavour.
A really lovely meal with excellent service from Fabio. Will definitely go again if in the area.
Amazing food with heavy chocolate influence (which you expect from a restaurant run by Hotel Chocolat.
The lunch was excellent, the prosecco the loveliest that I have ever had, the staff really kind, helpful and attentive but not overpowering. Would recommend this restaurant and also would go again-happily!
We had afternoon tea which was delicious and nicely presented. We sat “outdoors” which is a space overlooking Borough Market but still has a roof over it. We were not rushed and so were able to have a leisurely conversation. Noise from London Bridge trains sometimes overpowered conversation. This could be remedied by sitting in the indoor portion of the restaurant but we liked feeling like we were outdoors without the worry of rain. Better still, our bill gave us a 20% discount in the Hotel Chocolate shop below.
Met a colleague at Rabot 1745 for breakfast. While I got there early, I was not encouraged to enter the premises until 8am on the dot :(. That said, the place is great. Good service, the food was very good and well served. We sat on the balcony overlooking the market which was great. I will use this place again, definitely. Thanks.
Dear guest Thank you for your positive review about the food and service. We look forward to see you again very soon, Bruno Zuliani general manager
Had a great lunch in the restaurant, the food was delicious and we chose the Hotel Chocolat red wine which was amazing although rather expensive. Service was very good. We have visited Hotel Chocolat in St Lucia and enjoyed bringing back our memories .

Special birthday lunch for my chocoholic daughter. Everything was spot on. Service really efficient and friendly. Nice atmosphere to be above the buzzy Borough Market. The food was lovely and it was a nice touch that the birthday girl got a special chocolate, candle and Happy Birthday message. Recommended without a doubt

Amazing, very tasty and nice restaurant. Would recommend
Our meal with Rabot 1745 was wonderful. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly- I was concerned we would be late for our reservation time because of tube disruption however when I rang to pre-warn the staff about our potential lateness, they were very understanding and reassuring. The food was beautiful and delicious. The integration of chocolate into every dish gives the menu an edge of intrigue which makes dining there an exciting experience. I would highly recommend!
Dear Lucy Thank you very much for your lovely comments, we are very flexible about timings and understand that keeping to the correct times is not always possible and it should not spoil or affect your experience! our cacao cuisine is indeed intriguing, different, creative, and the addition of cacao is subtle and effective. We look forward to welcome you back soon maybe for our "afternoon tea of the gods" Bruno Zuliani general manager We are now serving breakfast on the terrace
I’ve eaten here before at lunch time and had a memorable experience so thought I would take my family for dinner. We sat outside as it was a sunny evening, although there are heaters if it’s a cold day. We had a wonderful meal, everything was perfect.. the ambience was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and lived up to expectation. The presentation of the food was amazing. It was quite expensive for the four of us with wine and cocktails but well worth it for a special occasion
Dear Chrissie Thank you very much for your lovely review, clearly we surpassed your expectations on your second visit, we appreciate your feed back and we look forward to welcome you soon, Bruno Zuliani general manager We are now serving breakfast on the terrace, from Tuesday to Saturday.
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the food,, it was bland
It was lacking so much flavour, no salt, no oomph, no punch, not yummy ! Nor moorish..
And definitely didn’t get the cocoa influence
The service was great,
It was wonderful of them to offer hotel chocolate as it was a birthday celebration, and I adore Hotel Chocolate,
The drinks were yummy and and hit the spot.
The wines were reasonably priced.
But the Foo’s was a total disappointment to me.
Dear Myrna I am really sorry to hear you did not enjoy the food on your visit, would you kindly contact me at the restaurant so I can put things right for you, on a positive note I am glad our waiter was able to make your birthday celebration memorable, I look forward to hear from you soon, Bruno Zuliani general manager We are now serving breakfast on the terrace, from Tuesday to Saturday.
Great place to relax with friends, food is wonderful
This is my fourth visit to Rabot 1745. Whilst we had a most enjoyable evening with lots of positives, the food which should be the star of the show was not as good as previous visits. In previous visits, my experience of the food is that I wished it was a meal that would never end, it was that good. This time round, whilst the food was very nice, it just didn't taste as good. In terms of value for money, I'd say moderate as the portions were modest and not of the quality that I remembered.
That said, its cocoa theme, Borough Market location, attentive service and attractive décor are enough to draw me back for another visit.
Dear Liz Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear you were not entirely satisfied with the food as on previous occasions. Please contact me directly at the restaurant to discuss, Bruno Zuliani general manager We are now serving breakfast on the terrace, from Tuesday to Saturday.
What a fabulous dining experience. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Staff were helpful but also unobtrusive. Whilst you can hear the trains it adds to the atmosphere of being in the market place. We had a table “outside” which means under the glass market roof. This means you don't have to worry about the weather yet still has a continental feel. This was a special family birthday but a romantic date would be just as good here.

Wonderful food which delivered great flavour whilst cleverly incorporating different forms of chocolate. I am a regular Hotel Chocolat shopper and this place definately ticked all the boxes.
