Rabia's Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation at 8:15pm and were not seated until 8:35. Service was incredibly slow and the waitress at the bar and our table seemed like she did not want to serve us or be there at all. We’ve been here a few times before and the service was never this awful
I am celiac and got the Lobster Risotto and it was PHENOMENAL! The staff was really kind. I was kind of shocked, we went on a weekend and it was surprisingly not packed. They also have gluten free pasta which I was super pumped about. They have a TON of options and they have lobster alive in the restaurant and my friend from out of town got really excited about that. I love this place, I want to keep going over and over again, it is so delicious and definitely a hidden gem!!
I've said this before: Each time I go to Rabia's it's better than the last visit. My companion arrived first, 15 minutes early, (7:15), but was seated right away. You know how you go to a restaurant and you want it to be everything you said it would be? That's Rabia's. The service was thoughtful, the meal was excellent, and afterward to strolled around the North End. What's not to love.
I have never been to this restaurant before. We went with a group of eight people. The waiter was not friendly at all. The average meal on the menu is $23 the specials did not have any price. We all ordered specials and then asked the special meal prices and were told they were $45-$65 and a special appetizers with $30. We did end up changing our order to order off the regular menu but very very turned off that they did not have prices on the special menu. Will never go back
Service was unfriendly and inattentive. Food was spotty - my husband's chicken francese was delicious, but my chicken piccata was tough and inedible. I would avoid this restaurant if you have kids in tow. There is no kids menu (not a problem, I just wish I'd known in advance) and the menu makes ordering for kids a bit difficult (ravioli is made with smoked mozzarella, which was not a big hit with my kids). The waiter never offered a wine menu and never checked on us once he took the order. I would try somewhere else next time and would recommend the same to others. They do take reservations, which is nice for the North End.
Overall everything was great. There was a price difference of about $10 for some items on the menu vs what was listed on their own website. Plus some items like the baby octopus did not exist and were substituted with octopus tentacle instead. Made me feel baited on an enjoyable night.
As could be expected, the North End is packed on a Saturday night. We arrived at Rabia to find a long line of people waiting; fortunately, we had a reservation, so we didn't have to wait long for our table. The place is small, and the tables are jammed in pretty tightly; don't think you could fit any more tables. The result is that we were essentially dining elbow-to-elbow with a very nice couple (who appeared to be on a first date).
The food was good, but not exceptional. The wine was good, and not too expensive (that's a rarity in Boston).
so overall, nothing terribly bad, but not very good either. Kind of 'meh...
I picked Rabia's because of the picture on Open Table and the reviews. We were on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. The service was a bit slow initially but not tot he point of being "where did our waiter go?" slow.
We split a Caprese salad. The portion was just right.
We both ordered our mains off the special menu. My wife had the red Apple Ravioli. I had the seafood medley off of the special menu. Both were prepared well and delicious.
Including the 4 glasses of house wine our total bill about $80 not including the tip.
I recommend for you to try Rabia's and we will be back again.
My friends and I really enjoyed our meal. They loved the oysters and the main dishes were excellent as well. They were visiting from San Diego and several times said, "Wow, this is really great - I'm so glad you chose this place". So kudos to Rabias and thanks for impressing my friends!
