RA Sushi Bar Restaurant - Tustin
Located by the movie theater, we’re a perfect destination before or after your flick. Guests can dine al fresco on the spacious patio, take a table in our dining room, sit with our sushi chefs at the sushi bar or sip and socialize casually in our bar & lounge area.
Whatever you choose, it’s all served with a big side of anything can happen. So bring your friends or make new ones; you’re in for a great time in the RA.
Horrible service. All of our appetizers and dinner came out at the same time. The waitress made an excuse that there were different food windows and it comes out when it’s ready. They couldn’t even make a simple gin and soda cocktail. Sushi was falling apart. Nothing positive to say. We will not be back.
Made the reservation. Showed up. No table. Restaurant suggested we sit down on the bar to eat. Either you should not take reservation or you should honor it. The manage came our. He was rude and outright obnoxious.
This is our 3rd Christmas in SoCal and we have had Ra Sushi every year. It was a good dinner before the movie.
With family, great service & nice staff!
Great place for sushi and drinks lots of happy hour specials and they even honored happy hour on Christmas Day which was awesome
The food was fantastic and the service was exceptional as well.
We’ve eaten lunch here a few times. The small plates we’ve had before we’re quite good.
Dinner was a disaster.
The waiter was absolutely clueless.
Ordered 2 glasses of wine. He brought the two glasses over, set one down in front of my wife, left the second one on another table and disappeared for 15 minutes. Even a request for more water was too much for this genius to handle.
Ordered appetizers and main dishes. Everything came out at once.
Garlic Edamame-what garlic?
Ponzu chicken wings were just OK
RA’kin shrimp. Like the shrimp you get in a TV dinner.
Ahi poke-mostly cucumbers with very little tuna
Our friends Hamachi sashimi came out wrong.....twice!!!
I ordered pork ramen. The pork slices were tasty but the noodles way over cooked and the broth was just bland with a few bamboo shoots and scallions thrown in.
When it was time get our check our waiter disappeared again for over 20 minutes.
The venue was at best half full and it looked like the manager was helping bring out the food.
We won’t be back.
I love the restaurant and the ambiance. Unfortunately our waitress wasn't very friendly or helpful. I would eat there again with friends but would ask to move if I was sat with her and would be nervous to bring in a big group again.
I come to RA quite frequently and usually have great service. That's why I decided to celebrate my birthday there. This time our waitress keep forgetting our orders. I had to ask 4x for water, as I am pregnant and prefer to only drink that. I eventually had to go to the bar and ask for water because I still hadn't received anything after being there 40mins. Also, her helper refused to speak to us. I would ask her a question and she wouldn't make eye contact with me and would just walk away. When she brought out our food, I said thank you 3x and she refused to answer me and stood there with her arms crossed. She was extremely rude and looked miserable. It made all my guests very uncomfortable and confused with her behavior.
Other than the service, the food was fantastic, as usual! I will definitely go to RA Sushi again. I feel like this last visit was completely irregular. Unfortunately, it had to be on my birthday celebration.
RA is a great easy option for dining if you're meeting friends in the area or if you're catching a movie. The food is consistently decent and the service is always friendly, attentive and adaptive if we're catching a movie. Ciarra was extra sweet and we really appreciated her perfectly timed check ins attentive service. Tnx for having such a great staff. It's also nice to avoid the traffic trying to get in and or near whole foods.
Very poor service. Forgot to get us plates and silverware. Had to ask for water several times. They had no soft drinks available because the machine was broken. Won’t return. With so many sushi places out there we won’t be coming back.
Perfect for Friday night pre-movie sushi 🍣 and wine 🍷 dinner; the Happy Hour menu and prices were a surprise bonus!
Great restaurant, great pricing too, must try. Server was ok not very attentive and not very friendly. But over all good experience. Manger was super nice, he asked how was everything. Our server did not asked how was everything or thank you.
Service was totally off when we were there
Salad was really mediocre
Good, but the wait for a waiter with it being empty then getting our food was quite long
I was disappointed at first. Our table was given to someone else. We had to wait for another table to be available.
I took a customer from out of town here for lunch. She loves Japanese food, but the food here was SO terrible... I was embarrassed by the quality, the waitress was never around, food took forever to be served, I kept apologizing throughout the meal.... to my customer, for bringing her here.
A couple examples...
1) the sea urchin was brown. It tasted like plastic...or play-doh... or whatever that horrible aftertaste was... we spat out the urchin right away.
2) I asked the waitress where the urchins were from and when they were delivered (because they were so bad I wanted this info so I could avoid it in the future) she ran off for answers but never got back to me.
3) my water cup was empty most of the meal (we were here for 2.5 hrs). I couldn't waive anyone down to help me refill water because no one was around.
4) food took a long time to serve. We thought it was because there's a lot of orders ahead of ours but after I looked around, the restaurant only had 4 other tables seated. (most people were at the bar watching World Cup)
5) after my nigiri orders were finally served, I looked for servers and was finally able to wave down a guy server 15 minutes later and asked for low sodium soy sauce and wasabi. It never came. I had to wait another 20 minutes I finally saw my waitress and she apologized that she forgot to bring wasabi. So food was slow to serve and I couldn't eat even after they were served because of no wasabi! And she forgot my low sodium soy sauce.
6) we finished our meals but the check never came. 30minutes later after we finished, I got up and grabbed the bill from the hostess because I couldn't find anyone else around.
Scallop nigiri were the only good food we had during this meal. It was not worth the $$ we spent here for a couple of good scallops! A very disappointing experience, and it was terrible choice for me to bring a client here.
Came here for Happy Hour and our server, Brie was great! She was so attentive and recommended great choices in wine. The sushi was just ok though.
love the lychee martinis. I thought the server could have table touched a bit more but overall we had a great experience.
Great food as always.
The quality of this restaurant has gone completely downhill. It had been a few years since I had visited and the ambience was completely different. The restaurant was mostly empty, which for a Saturday night seemed odd. There was a foul smell at the reception desk when entering the facility, so we asked to sit outside. The food was just OK. The service staff was not attentive at all and we had to make several requests and waive our waitress down multiple times for simple things like clearing plates and getting water. Really sad to see the decline of a location that really used to be a great spot.
Happy hour is a real deal. Have lots of choices and great prices !!!!
The food, service and experience was amazing!
Great find. Unique sushi. Enjoyable and reasonable in price
Food was good. Lobster spring rolls are very good. Good selection of sushi and rolls. Service was slow. Definitely $$ on the price side
Foods great! Waiters and staff are attentive and friendly. It’s my go to sushi restaurant in town. The bento boxes are delicious as well!
Servers were really friendly and nice. Good music and good vibes!
Good as always!
Celebrated a friend’s bday. The waitress brought a really good tempura dessert that was to “die for”.
Waitress was amazing and service was excellent!
Our server, Jasmine, was exceptionally accommodating and worked hard to ensure that we had a great first experience at Ra. She provided us with all of the gluten free options for my wife and even recommended some fun cocktails for us to try. We will definitely be coming back for another visit.
Great experience! It was nice being able to book ahead of time. I definitely would recommend more people take advantage of it since it was so convenient. Also had a nice dining experience from the appetizers, deliciois sushi and fine drinks I'll definitely be coming back!
Enjoyed the environment. Fun time with friends. Will be back for more sushi. Nice stop on the way to catch a flick.
Worst service ever
I would call this a very average run-of-the-mill sushi place- super basic if you are into that. I visited this place when it first opened and had a much better food experience. It is becoming run down and has that look/smell that a million people have been through the doors. Drinks are very basic even though they look amazing on the menu and the food quality is not that great. For most people who don't actually have a palate for decent food, this is a great place with a nice ambiance.
Weird carpet smell. Slow service. Mediocre food.
you need pictures of the the dishes that you have. especially sushi since there is such a wide selection.
Excellent , excellent , excellent !
The sushi was just okay, with relatively ordinary menu choices. There are better sushi restaurants.
Wonderful food. I have the garlic edamame, lobster spring rolls, salmon nigiri, and the ra’rockin roll with miso soup.
I loved everything. There was nothing left on our plates. Amazing food and service.
Food was enjoyable. We don't go for amazing sushi but for a fun atmosphere. The service was really terrible this last time however. Had to ask numerous times for each request....4 was the magic number. Received the bill before our food was finished coming out!
