We were seated in the bar area and our server was the bartender. He was attentive at the beginning but we waited a long time to get our bill and then another period of time to get the receipt.
Our good was good, other than our Miso soup was luke warm.
Our server was fine. There was a long delay in the roll I ordered. Our server apologized a couple of times for the delay since the bowl we also ordered came out much faster.
I love RA, the food is always great. Unfortunately they were not prepared for the valentines crowd. We wait 45 mins to 1 hr to get our food and drinks. We were brought the wrong drinks and ended up cancelling part of the order. I would return to RA any regularly operating day, but unfortunately it let us down on a special date night, as rare as we get to have one.
Very crowded as expected but they seemed to have shoved more tables in places where you were basically eating with the people beside you at the high tops. Also restaurant was so dark that you could not see the menu to order. Should have been noticed as multiple people had flashlights on phones out to see menu. Service and food was good.
I would not normally post a negative review, but our experience was really not great. Clearly they were trying to maximize the number of tables in for the night, which is understandable given that it was Valentines day. We were seated at an outdoor table and chairs that were moved inside and squeezed in with the normal indoor tables. Which was fine, but the table had a table cloth on it that was splattered with various sauces. We were still OK with that, understanding the situation. We ordered our wine and it was brought out followed by the food, which was good. We were finishing up our sushi, I literally had the last bite in my mouth when the waitress came and took the plates and asked if we wanted the check. As she was taking the plates away, she dropped a big bowl of garlic sauce all over the table and splattered my husband as well as the table next to us. She said she was sorry then left. Literally left a giant pool of garlic sauce right in front of my husband. He couldn't touch the table. His sweater was splattered as well. The waitress ran up to us and tossed the bill on the table and did not return or hardly look at us. We still had half of a bottle of wine to drink.
We will not be going back. There are plenty of other sushi options in our area that are superior with much better service.
Salad came out without dressing. We got food we didn’t order. Even with a reservation we weren’t seated for 15 minutes after our reservation time. Usually this place is amazing
It was decent. A bit pricey and our waitress was a bit rude.
Food and drinks are good not great. Service was terrible.
Love this place.... great happy hour.... Sunday happy hour...and late night hours make it perfect for me!
First of all, they messed up our order very badly. They brought my food out first, set it down and walked off. It was not at all what I ordered. Several minutes later, they brought out my daughter's dish. I let the server know that there was a mistake on my order and also asked about the whereabouts of my son-in-law's order. The server apologized and explained that they gave me someone else's order and to keep what he had previously brought out. they then brought out the correct order for me but nothing for my son-in-law. Several minutes later, they served him his order. It was not at all busy that evening.
As for the food...not anything to note. It was all rather bland and featureless. We had never been to RA before and were excited to try it. Disappointing.
To really end things for me was when I received a message from Open Table the next day. Apparently RA reported that we were a "no-show" for the reservation I made through the RA website. Although a minor screw up on the staff at RA, taken together with screw ups in service and the wholly mediocre food, we will not go back.
Server was awesome and friendly
My husband and I were seated next to a table that had 20+ people. We had to yell across the table at each other. It was very noisy and made our date night not as enjoyable.
The food was good, but a bit pricey for what we got.
Service was great, Always good food drinks here!! It was also happy hour so a bonus 👍
Fantastic wait staff, great food. Will definitely be back!
The calamari is a MUST so good! We enjoyed the sushi rolls and miso soup!
Great! Food was fresh. Chase provided us with excellent service. Will be back again soon
Christmas night and they were out of ramen noodles and were very slow. Two of us were finished with the meal by the time the others got theirs. Server was very sweet and friendly. Kitchen was not operating well that night. My $28 meal consisted of a cup of rice, .5 cup of veggies, 4 oz of overcooked steak and 6 shrimp.$100+ meal and we all left hungry and had upset tummies through the next day.
Although the interior of RA is beautiful, and the food all sounds amazing on the menu, I just can't justify the extremely inflated prices when compared to what is actually delivered. We went during Happy Hour on Christmas day, and the place was almost empty. Considering other restaurants that were open were packed, we probably should have taken this as a sign and left right away. Sadly, we stayed, and definitely regretted it. The food is just...ok, really. Nothing special for the most part, although the chicken bao buns were a highlight. Everything else was good, but not spectacular, and the prices they are charging are just not appropriate. The bill came to $80 for just the 2 of us, and we only ordered 1 alcoholic drink! We ordered edamame, chicken bao buns (only get 2 in an order), a spicy tuna roll (which had the texture of tuna fish from a can, so that was interesting), ramen, and chicken teriyaki. My husband got a soft drink, and I ordered a blushing geisha drink (which wasn't good, they even remade it for me and it still wasn't good, it tasted watered down). The items all came out of the kitchen at random times, with our bao buns (ordered as an appetizer) coming out long after the rest of the food was delivered. Frankly, for the quality of the food, that should have been no more than $50. Not only that, but they don't allow you to use the $10 towards appetizers that you get when signing up for their emails. It was extremely embarrasing when they sent the manager over to "explain" this to me, as though I was being difficult. I had actually forgotten about the $10, and simply asked my waiter if they would be able to apply it. I didn't make a fuss, and a simple, "Sorry ma'am, we are unable to use that during Happy Hour specials" would have sufficed. I find that a bit silly, as their happy hour prices were nothing to write home about, but if that's their policy, I wasn't going to argue and make a scene.
We won't be back to use that $10.
We’ve been a few times but for some reason it’s just not our vibe. Food is okay / not bad, but seems every time we’ve gone there’s something off. (eg. last time the sushi came out without wasabi and ginger...) I have heard they have a decent happy hour so maybe will try it for that one day...
Waiter was horrible. Put in 2 dishes and drink order wrong. One was the appetizer which came at the end of dinner and when finally delivered it was wrong.
Bad and frustrating experience. Not at all what we had been looking forward to. Food that was delivered correctly tasted excellent.
Great service! Wasn’t too loud, was just perfect. Recommend to many friends and family.
Absolutely love their Hot Mess. Sometimes they get skimpy on the size of each but when they don’t they are delicious.
Tasty sushi and a great atmosphere for catching up with a friend! Dressy casual, lots of choices on menu and amazing service is why I rated RA a 5! Best rolls my friend and I have had!
RA is ok. It isn't bad, it isn't great, it is just ok. The service was excellent which helped to make up for the lackluster food. I wouldn't complain if someone were to take me there, but I wouldn't take someone there myself.
The manager was exceptional. There was a small issue and she took care of things quickly, efficiently and professionally.
I was so disappointed! I won't return again for sushi, there are better tasting places in town. None of our 3 rolls were anywhere near as good as other places (Cowtown Sushi far superior!). Miso soup was fine. Drinks were ok but nothing special. Servers were friendly which is why I gave 3 stars or would've given just 2.
It was good food
Everything was on point
Service was excellent. We were happy to partake in HH, which was awesome and unexpected on Saturday night.
The food was fabulous and we celebrated my son’s birthday perfectly
All got sick after meal... not clean place be very careful
Staff did not acknowledge my son’s birthday even though that information was submitted on reservation.
The food was delicious and well-presented. Our waiter was very personable and took good care of us!
Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Best sushi in the area.
The waiter was exceptional. We went before the dinner crowd for a light dinner before the theatre. The food was delivered quickly. The sushi was very fresh and tasty. The cocktails were very good, not watered down like the neighboring restaurants. Overall a great experience and we will be visiting RA again soon
Out server was so knowledgeable, caring and out going. She was wonderful! The food was also stellar! Can’t wait to come back.
Our waiter Riley was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations off the menu.
Had a reservation and arrived right on time and was seated promptly but then had to wait over 10 minutes before my husband got frustrated and went upfront to inform them we had been overlooked and had no wait staff. The manager was told and he personally got us taken care of and ordered us two sushi rolls on the house for the inconvenience and coupons for free appetizers on a future visit. We have visited several times and appreciated the manager taking care of the situation and we'll be back.
There were 4 people, one got his food, another person 10 minutes after that, and the final 2 people 10 minutes after that. So the first person was done eating when the last 2 were served. One meal had grilled chicken, and it was a very weird texture and crunchy. Grilled chicken shouldn't be crunchy.
The server was good, and the manager very nice when she came over about the chicken.
But regardless, not a place any of us plan to go back to.
Seating is a little too open and bustling for me! Still, great menu and the sushi is fabulous. The salmon teriyaki was nothing special, but the sushi is great and the appetizers are creative and interesting
RA has a great ambiance, staff and location, but compared to other sushi restaurants their portions are very small for the money. If you are a regular sushi eater the pieces of fish for both sushi and sashimi will be a third of the size you are used to elsewhere. It's a shame because it's a fun and inviting place, but we go to restaurants for food, and though it's good, you better order a few extra portions at RA or you will be hungry.
