RA Sushi Bar Restaurant - Scottsdale Old Town, AZ

It was “good enough”…one of the sushi makers wore his mask UNDER his nose! We made the reservation, commenting that it was our anniversary (51 years) but no one acknowledged it.
Food was fine…nothing special.

The overall ambiance was nice, however the food was subpar. Not the best sushi in town but it was decent. The drinks on happy hour was the only highlight to dinner.

Not sure why this establishment gets such a high rating on Opentable. Yelp it’s 3 stars. 2 stars is pushing it. When you walk in you get a blast of wet dirty carpet smell. The place screams dive bar. Don’t get me wrong. Dive bars are cool. Just not when you want sushi. The place is loud AF. Great place to people watch if you enjoy the real housewives of Scottsdale trailer park. The food was decent but not worth the visit.

The food was good but the service is pretty bad. I think the RA location in North Scottsdale is a lot better. Non of the staff (Bartender/Hostess/Server) have any kind of friendly or hospitable personalities and they all seem to be really young, disorganized and scatterbrained. It is VERY obvious they could care less about their job and providing customer service. Like I said, if we go to RA again (Honestly, I doubt it), it will definitely be the other location near Kierland. Oh well. Tons of other excellent local sushi restaurants we can go to in the valley!

Disappointed, not sure they stack up well against the many options in the Scottsdale/PHX area. One of us had been before (to a diff RA location) and had better food. Appetizer wasn't a good value and was underwhelming taste/quality-wise. Do not plan to return.

Great first time sushi experience.

The food was average. Agedashi tofu appetizer ended up soggy due to saucing versus more traditional treatment. The entire selection of interesting Japanese beers on the menu (I. E. Not Sapporo) were out of stock by 8:30PM on a Thursday night. No reason to go here over a local sushi place.

Service was slower, and they were out of a lot of items. Sushi was fast, kitchen was slow. However, they did comp our food that ended up taking long! Happy hour was great value all night on Sunday, but with that being said, idk that I would pay full price for those particular items. Punch bowl slaps ya in the face!

I eat at RA at least twice a month. The only one that is good is the Chandler location. The server was horrible I’m pretty sure she forgot about our table multiple times. The only good person in that place was the busser who very attentive. The miso soup was not hot and there was little pieces of a bristle brush I assume in the sauce of the Sushi. Really need to get it together over there.

I made reservations at the wrong restaurant, and they still made room for us. Great service, and great prices considering how much Sushi my husband and daughter ate

Food wasn't flavorful. Would not recommend to a friend.

Definitely a relaxing evening dinner. Great food, fun atmosphere and nice place. Sis was Great!! No rush we were able to relax and had good conversation while having dinner.

They were wonderful, very kind and thoughtful of our friends birthday. Yummy food and service was top notch (particularly after a bad experience with a next door restaurant). All 4 of us left happy!!

Hostess was not very friendly but that is only negative. Food was amazing and service was good. The Monkey roll (can’t remember full name) was our favorite along w the garlic edamame.

Service was terrible- probably the worst service at any dining establishment I’ve ever been to. Good was fine- service was a joke and some clear staffing issues that lacked proper training.

Just average. Nothing special or fresh.

Don’t dine here the day after a holiday like Mother’s Day. 3 different rolls where completely out of stock and the frozen drink maker was broken again.

The RA in North Scottsdale is a little bit more reliable.

Super nice staff! Food and drinks were so good and somehow way less expensive than anticipated.

The majority of the place was empty. When we checked in they said there would be a 30 minute wait??!?!? I said we had reservations with Open Table so they sat us right away right next to a table of 6 with kids! So seriously only about 4 tables were being used and all of them pushed together...COVID or not this made no sense

Crazy Monkey Roll and Lobster Mango Roll were super yummy! Black raspberry sake was also very good, strawberry and mango mojitos were to die for! Loved the reserve table option on website! Will be back!

Food was fast at first but took 30 minutes to get the next plate of food. So slow I ended up cancelling my order and leaving hungry. Restaurant is a bit dirty. Dirty windows and floors and they give you plastic forks and cups for your soy sauce which makes it feel cheap even if the prices aren’t.

The staff at Ra went above and beyond on our date night! We were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner. Our server Griffin was attentive and professional. Chef James came out to check if we needed anything and this was the nicest part of our entire experience. Food was delicious and at our request we received a spicy sauce made especially for us. Thanks for treating us so nicely! Customer service is 5 Star!

The sushi was fantastic! The "hot mess" appetizer is a MUST try.

Food and service was great but the restaurant has an old musty smell to it. Kinda funky like the carpets need cleaning or pulled up.

Server was rude and low energy. Good was super small portions and not good quality. The atmosphere was very plain and not nice.

The food was really good although the kitchen was out of glass cups so they gave us Styrofoam cups for our waters. Also the waiter made a comment that Fridays and Saturdays are so busy that they run out of dishes and silverware all the time... I I love the food and I’ll still go back!

Every roll we purchased had diced imitation crab as a “base“. Even though it wasn’t indicated on the menu. Quality of sushi was terrible.

The food is ok, very loud and sat at a back table with little ambiance. Service was great, even though, she was super busy.
