Food was really good, but there was a Dj and the music made us physically tired after a while. Could have turned it down 15% and all would have been good.
Good food at decent price. They have a lunch punch card. Was pretty busy for lunch day we went.
Really awesome experience. Highly recommend
The team at RA did a fantastic job helping us prepare for and surprise my girlfriend for her 40th birthday!! Very accommodating and supportive. She is still talking about it!! Thank you!
Everything was great! Restaurant busy this day, but still quiet noise level. Food and service great!
We came in for a birthday and had an awesome time! We we're in from Orange County and RA didn't disappoint! Chris was one of the best servers we've ever had. Made the dinner special! I look forward to returning
LOUD RESTAURANT: The music was up too loud to hear one another talk.
Probably the best sushi I have had around San Diego county. Me and my girlfriend have sushi once a week and try new places all the time and hands down best place/sushi!
The food was wonderful
The food was absolutely amazing! They have a very unique menu of rolls that I have never had before with some ingredients that you wouldn't normally think of for sushi, but they were amazing when put together!
Had lunch here. As usual, pretty quiet at lunch time. Things pick up at happy hour. Yet to try brunch.
Food was just ok and service was acceptable. I don't think I'd go back, but not terrible. Also, if you like eating in a dance club, this is the place for you after 7pm.
Great sushi!!! I love it!!! great taste and service, don't miss it!!!
We were trying to get dinner before catching Seinfeld at the Civic Theatre. We weren't too familiar with the fact that every place worth going to requires dinner reservations. Thankfully they all use open table. Heard great things about Ra but did not think we would even be able to eat dinner there. Thankfully they had many reservations open. It was a great first time experience. From the food, to the service, to the location. Definitely recommend!
Everything was great! Parking is awful but worth it for the food!
The sushi fish was not moist and portions were small. Will not recommend
First, the hostess Rianna was amazing and so sweet when we called letting them know we were running late for our reservation. Second, the food is amazing and the service is great as well. Lastly, such a perfect place for ladies night before we went out the rest of the night!
We enjoyed our dinner very much, there was a large party enjoying a holiday meal and although there were a bit load due to having a great time, it was not distracting and it is the holiday season so is expected. Only small service issue was that one of our meals came out during the appetizers and the other was about 10 minutes later. Other then that small timing issue everything was wonderful and we will be back
Overall I like the food also the waitress was kind and friendly
My first experience at RA was not a great one. I could not believe the type of service I received. Our waiter was very unprofessional and even rude at times. The food was good and did come out in a timely manner. But I will never come to this restaurant again based on the service that I received. Very unpleasant experience.
The food was good but service was poor
Overall the food is consistently good. My one negative comment which I have commented on before, is they jsut can't seem to bring the entrees out together. I understand that some of it is coming from the kitchen and some for the Sushi bar, but there should be a better way to coordinate. This is the second time in a row where my husband got his food way before I got mine. I always tell him not to wait, but it is just not right that one of us is always eating alone. Servers are always very friendly, just wish they could get it together on the timing of serving the entrees together.
Food is always good and prices are good, especially during happy hours or one of their specials. My one issue is they need to improve on getting orders out at the same time for everyone at the table. Last time we went my husband got his food 10 minutes plus before I received mine. This is really not acceptable.
Good Happy Hour value; nice staff!
Honestly, not impressed. The sushi was average, at best. The service was good, though we were there in the mid-afternoon when the opened so there wasn't much going on to take the attention of the waitstaff. The ambiance was okay, though more party-like. My feeling is, if you want halfway-decent fish in a place (where the other locations are in mall food courts...) that caters to people looking to get hammered (as opposed to foodies looking for a great meal), this may be your place. If you're looking for high-end food, move on elsewhere.
Love this place. Killer drinks and I think the food is very good. It's Americanized sushi for sure, but the quality and flavor remains top notch. The scenerey is always good, and its located close to the gaslamp for post-dinner drinks, but far enough north that you can usually find street parking a few blocks away (towards Banker's Hill). They also have a killer late night happy hour and some mysterious "4 for $25" menu that used to be on Sundays but I think now is on Wednesdays. Phenomenal value for the quality and quantity of the food. I think for the money the Calamari (get the dynamite sauce on the side) and the Las Vegas roll are not to be missed.
Manager and staff went above and beyond with friendliness, consistency, knowledge and helpfullness. We never felt rushed, on the contrary the server even informed us about Happy Hour before it passed (saving us money!). The manager took the time, at least a handful of times to come over and ask us how we were doing, chatted with my parents and genuinely wished my dad a happy birthday. Being in the restaurant industry myself, I really appreciated all the little touches and honesty. Great service!!!
We arrived around 10pm. Ordered many items on menu and all were good. We had to ask our waitress for everything (soy sauce, ginger, etc) and she never did fill our water glasses. Pleasant personality but she was checked.out before we even got there.
Everything we ordered was tasty and above average, the server was attentive and the ambiance was great, even for a dinner near midnight midweek.
Ra Sushi never disappoints. Try it, you'll see. You will like it.
always yummy in the tummy enjoy it is always a great place.
We had a great lunch. Service great! Wonderful day. Who could ask for more?
I'd definitely order the ahi salad again. The sushi was fresh and the server was knowledgeable.
The food was awesome! Definitely get the hot miso soup and calamari... The Vegas roll and ultimate shrimp tempura was delish
Lunch was very reasonable. No complaints. Satisfied, as usual.
Nice local restaurant to enjoy sushi, sashimi or just some terriyaki dishes. Moderate prices.
service was a little slow and disorganized. No soy sauce or wasabi with the rolls, had to ask for it. Rolls were ok. Weak drinks.
This is the second time I have been to RA Sushi Bar. Its noisy on a Saturday evening but the vibes are positive and the service was excellent. The sushi is to die for, and if I an consuming raw fish I don't mind paying the extra $$ to make sure it is the best San Diego has to offer. I will be back again!
Our food was absolutely gross:( i could not eat my sushi roll. Our server was not attentive at all we waited so long to order and never asked if we needed anything. The whole experience was bad we will not be returning to this place!
