RA Sushi Bar Restaurant - Mesa Ratings and Reviews
I love RA! The sushi is creative, fresh & delicious. The salads are awesome!! Great starters. Lively & really good Happy Hour. The Happy Hour wine is delicious & great value. A little nousy with the bar scene, but fun as well! Service can be slow during busy times but excellent in general.
Our service and food were fabulous. The only thing I did not like was the loud music playing through the speakers. It was kind of hard to have a conversation with my husband. Our server was amazing, the drinks were perfect, and I HIGHLY recommend the lobster spring rolls and the California Dream sushi rolls.
Odd, normally Ra restaurants have good food. Had miso soup, good. Ra'ckin shrimp, good. Vegas roll wasn't made well, mushy rice. Was really disappointed. Also asked for extra eel sauce, which the server forgot. No lemons brought with drink refill. Disappointing meal. Won't be back to this location.
I was very displeased with how the evening started.. I was not told at the time i reserved that i needed half our party there to be seated. So when i get there with my 4 children trying to surprise my husband i am told i cannot sit down until 5 more people show up. so surprised ruined my husband and his sisters show. 5 of us... but now we have to wait for 80% of the party which overall was us.. The girls in the front where very rude about it and didnt seem to care. Once we got seated our waitress was rude about how to go about the check. She forgot my children's drinks all the time and when asked for suggestions for my kids she had an attitude. I love RA sushi but this one was not a favorite to visit.. Manners are a must
food was just okay. if it was better, the pricing would be fair. we did enjoy the dessert and drinks. the service was great. the food sounds like it would be great based on menu descriptions. but sadly the main thing i would think anyone goes to a restaurant for is the very thing that brings the rating down. i've spent more and i've spent less on better product. to me it means that they could do better.
Manager, Ashley was great. She took care of our open table account and for our points because our reservations were cancelled. She was also very sweet about the whole situation and called me back when the issue was resolved ;)
Will be coming back just because of her excellent customer service.
Food was really good, I got the calamari it was alright, not what I am use to. I think I will stick to what I am use to though, so will try different appetizer. The sushi was really good and I really liked the green tea ice cream. The waitress was very at tentative. I will definitely be back!
We love the sushi at RA. The music is way, way too loud at night. Many patrons are middle aged - like us- it's as if they value the young people's preferences above ours. I have friends who love the food, but feel it's not worth the inability to communicate with their dinner companions. I haven't reached that point yet, but I am getting closer.
Stopped in for lunch! Beautiful day outside sat on their patio. Lunch special wasn't explained to me so I had no idea the one thing I ordered came out with a small salad. Wish you were given the option of brown rice. Need to add cucumber rolls and NOT CHARGE EXTRA for it. Pretty standard in other Sushi restaurants. Food was average nothing special.
Made reservation for large party. Arrived just before reservation time and was told it would be just little wait. 15 min, 20 min, 30 min go by. Asked for manager. Expressed displeasure with her about the situation and was told that I should have been informed there would be some kind of wait even with a reservation because of the size of their dining room. 45 min go by and they let me know they have a table ready for us that is a little small and would add another table when one becomes available. The table that they wanted to seat us at had the chairs literally touching each other and with 14 people left us no room. I let them know we would wait until they had our table ready that could accomidate us. 1 hour after our reservation time we were seated. The manager did agree to give us free appetizers for our table and after going around a little bit did agree to give us the happy hour prices that we would have had if we had been seated for the time we had our original reservation. Basically, if you decide to go to the establishment, don't bother making a reservation. It doesn't mean anything to them.
We were there for our 45th Anniversary... Matt was our server and was very helpful. We throughly enjoyed the RA CKin Shrimp and the 2 Assortment Dinners but we think the menu should have 2 spicy symbols by the Spicy Shrimp Soup... the taste was nice but it was too spicy for both of us. We will totally recommend RA to everyone and we will be back.
