Service was subpar and was very expensive
Waited over an hour to get a hot dish out of the kitchen due to a to-go order or so I was told 3 times. The sushi was great, but the hot dishes (hibachi) Filet and Shrimp were bland and not something I would ever get again. Will not go back.
Loud music. Packed restaurant but not for sushi lovers. Crispy rice Spicy Tuna dish served cold and didn’t taste fresh. Gluten free soy sauce was way too salty.
Had a reservation and was seated right away. It was 6:30 on a Friday but the restaurant was maybe half full. Took the waiter ten minutes to even come by our table to say hi and get us water. The drinks we ordered came ten minutes later but were good. We ordered an appetizer of the steamed buns and it took 20 minutes to get two tiny buns. We took our first bite and then our food came out. Terrible timing. My husband ordered sushi which was nothing special in his opinion. I ordered noodles and took maybe 3 bites. Terrible flavor. For a chain type restaurant, it is very over priced, food was not good and the service was almost non existent and I will not be returning.
Horrible service horrible food and I called to tell the manager
Great food and drinks! The punch bowls are amazing! The menus are online which was great. No need to touch menus. Service was attentive and great. Sushi was amazing and couldn’t have asked for better. My girlfriends rice and chicken was great. Music selection in the restaurant was spot on. I love everything about the restaurant
Took both my ladies to a fun night of sushi. Was disappointed that the scallop wasn’t available, but all the other rolls and nigiri I had were fantastic. Our server was fairly new and hadn’t worked or been around Japanese beer selection and messed my order slightly, but it was still cold and refreshing.
Large number of items on the menu. It was our first time there for a birthday celebration. We were concerned about what the dress code would be. Laughable - we noticed muscle shirts and workout gear on a Friday evening.
We came for a birthday and it wasn’t even acknowledged as listed on our reservation. Service was bad, hostess and girl who brought our food was rude. Appetizers came out after the sushi. The food was average at best.
It was a great night with great food!
It was a birthday dinner.
Good food and excellent service
It was great!
Service was HORRIBLE. Started at the door- we were told we couldn’t be sat without a reservation (it was 830 pm with tons of tables available). I literally got online and made a reservation for 8 minutes out and was sat immediately ???
Our server could care less that we were there celebrating my sisters 21st. Had nothing to suggest, we were forgotten several times. Not provided napkins or silverware even after asking several times. We ordered drinks that were never brought until reminding her 3 times. We spent over $200 and were treated like we came in for free food. I used to wait tables for a living and hate tipping poorly but she was the worst waiter we had ever had. I was completely disappointed. She acted as if we were bothering her to be there.
This was my second time in and I can say it will be my last. Horrible wait staff, horrible greeters. I wish I could do more than give you a poor review.
The service is always the best! The food is amazing and there is no better atmosphere to eat sushi! I love this place.
No wait staff for 10 minutes after sitting down. Restaurant didn’t smell good. Extremely loud. Had the excess chairs and tables stacked on the end of the restaurant...find a place to store them! Expensive restaurant to have terrible service. 3rd time I’ve been there in 3 years and same situation. I’m done with RAW!
Let me start by saying I don’t place any blame on the staff (except for one item I’ll share later).
We made a reservation for 7:00, arrived on time, and were told by the clearly overwhelmed hostess that they overbooked (again) and it would be a while. She indicated that it was happening a lot and she wished they wouldn’t do that to her or the guests. She was super sweet and apologetic and gave us the option to sit at the bar and wait which we did.
The bartender was solo with a packed house and bar. Clearly he needed another person the assist. Where was the manager in this situation? Who knows. We decided after 30 minutes with still no table opening to just eat at the bar. The poor bartender though! the food was good. But that guy was slammed. I can’t blame that guy. He was just stuck in a situation he could not fix without help. Took forever to get the check and even longer for him to charge the card and return. Again, we don’t blame him. We tipped more than 20% and wrote a long message to the manager as we could not locate him to talk personally.
The last thing was the safety of the guests. Signs were up stating the state wide mandate for masks inside until seated. That seemed to work. Until guests went tot the bathroom or left and didn’t put them on. And our bartender was the only one that didn’t wear a mask. He had one hanging from his ear but not on. The manager needed to be there to instruct guests and staff alike on safety protocol.
Sorry to say but we won’t be going back again considering they don’t have a management in place that cares enough to help us staff or schedule properly.
Sushi here Is usually always amazing! Ordered a bento box, not the best I’ve experienced there, came out after everyone was done eating. Service was subpar.
Food was average. At least 50% of staff were wearing their masks below their noses. There is no point to that and makes one wonder what other safety/cleanliness precautions are being avoided or half-assed.
This was my first time here, we came because we joined the club and got a $10 voucher. Honestly I wasn’t blown away because the rolls were expensive and only 5-6 pieces. I’ve gone to some other sushi restaurants and the rolls have been just as expensive but there’s been t least 8-10 pieces per specialty roll. I didn’t think it was amazing. It was good and the restaurant was dead so we had fast service.
The server was not attentive. And the food was not good enough for its price. There’re way many better sushi places than this.
We were a group of 8 .. 6 of us received our food then it took another 20 minutes before the others were served . I had to ask the waiter 3 times to see what was going on with the food . The food was salmon and Vegs . You would think it wouldn’t take an hour to cook .
Great food and experience. Would definitely go again.
It was a great experience. Service and Food were amazing.
Yummy, delicious, one of a kind, kind of sushi the whole family will love!
The entire dining experience was terrific.
Not following COVID-19 protocols at all. Very disappointed.
Food was good, would have preferred to have had the birthday recognized as requested when i reserved the table.
The food was amazing and the service was great. The only thing we didn’t enjoy were the cocktails, very sugary and not at all what we were expecting. We ended up ordering wine and beer after that and the wine pours were very inconsistent. But the food will definitely being us back.
The happy hour menu has changed a lot since I’ve been there last and isn’t really as big as a bargain as it used to be. Won’t stop me from eating there though as the price, location and everything keeps me coming back!
Very good like always, the food is amazing and the variety it’s always nice
Our reservation wasn’t honored and no help from the rude hostesses
As always, excellent service, food & cocktails. Enjoyed our visit.
We have loved the Leawood Ra for many years, it was my choice for my birthday Dinner with my family.
Our waiter (Andrew I think) was absolutely wonderful. Remembered out order without writing down, and came around to check on us a good amount! The food was absolutely amazing as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.
Social Distancing was in full effect, the service was still excellent
Our favorite sushi place in KC! Great food...were always pleased when we leave.
Loved the food and the service. Our server was upfront about the wait time for our food which was totally expected given the circumstances. Will definitely be going back.
We had to wait over an hour for our food. And no one re-filled our water the entire time we were there (which was a long time). We had our little kids (3 and under) there so the wait was especially inconvenient. They did give us free edemame to try to make things right but it was waaaaay over salted. The sushi however was very good, but that may have been because we were super hungry by the time it finally arrived. I think it was a fluke sort of thing so I will still go back and recommend it to friends but it wasn’t a great first impression based on the wait time.
