A great, but late valentines day date well spent with my husband. We love the food, but the service there isn't always the best. Our waitress wasn't very friendly and/or cared to do her job and do it well.
We have been going to RA in Leewood for years, for anniversaries, birthdays, date nights...but this last time, the service was terrible. The weather was so bad that the restaurant was practically empty, our movie was cancelled (thats how bad the weather was) , but we decided to come have dinner anyhow. We were ignored, left waiting for food for more than 30 minutes, we ordered alcohol and was not asked if we wanted more, no water refills, then at the end we asked about dessert, was told they were out, and she put it on the bill anyhow. I had her take it off, but I don't think we will be back. We headed over to another restaurant for dessert and a night cap. We weren't ignored there, even with the small bill. What the hell?
Food was absolutely amazing! Atmosphere was beautiful. They were super busy so it took a bit longer to get food and drinks then would be liked.
Really disappointed when I saw a fish bowl drink on your fb page. Only to get there and have them tell me they don’t really have that. Stop posting stuff that isn’t in your restaurant. It’s very misleading.
My wife and I took our daughter there before going to the movies. It was not packed at all around 11AM. Service and ambience were good. We got a selection of rice & meat bowls, some sushi (California roll and Crazy Monkey roll) and some miso soup.
Frankly, the food was just OK. On the rice and meat bowls, it seemed like there was maybe 2-3 ounces of meat, and a great deal of rice. These dishes had no flavor, so I had to ask for some extra teriyaki sauce to try and add flavor to the dish. The rolls weren't that dynamic, even after adding some soy and wasabi. They had a bland taste and didn't seem super fresh. The miso soup was good.
The tab was $53.51 for the three of us (we all drank water). I may go back and try the ramen, but will be open to try some other places in that same area the next time we go to catch a movie.
The food was tremendous and I loved the atmosphere but the service was subpar which was very upsetting but in all, it was very good.
Food was absolutely delicious. The dynamite scallop hotdish is easily one of the best things I've had there. We plan on going again and we suggest it to everybody.
We had a great time and our waiter was very accommodating.
Girls day out
It was very loud— our waitress only came 3 times. Once to take our drink orders, then our dinner order, and didn’t return until the very end. I ended up ordering the yaki soba bowl which consists of spicy vegetable, soba noodles, and chicken. My dish came out cold and there was no spice whatsoever. Dissapointed.
Always fresh and delicious. No other place holds a candle to quality.
The bathroom was in a state of having buckets under the sink. We waited over 45min for one roll.
We had dinner here for NYE and it was great!
Our waitress didn't speak to us and my food was cold.
Was there on a Thursday night. 2 members of my party were served their food, 20 minutes later the waitress said she would “check on” mine. Since everyone else was finished and mine was not on the way I told her to cancel the order and bring the check. After that she did not speak to us when she came to the table and was extremely rude! I will not be going back EVER!
Lunch was great. Service was average/below average since we were being waited on by the bartender instead of a server. He was busy and clearly showed he had more important things to do.
The food was not great, pretty flavorless. We had happy hour rolls and fried rice. Given the price I thought it would be better.
Waitress Hanna was great. On target and helpful for the whole dinner. We had appetizers, sushi, and drinks. All were tasty and quickly served.
One drawback to the ambiance is they need to fix the ladies bathroom sink. For such a popular and packed restaurant..... don't skimp on the upkeep.
Our server (Laura) was extremely rude and disrespectful. She was visibly and verbally annoyed when we wanted to order from a happy hour menu at 6:40pm (Happy Hour is till 7pm). When requested, she only gave us one Drinks/Happy Hour menu for a party of 9. She never cleared the piled up plates and only once refilled our drinks. We had to go to the bar to get a pitcher of water. The food was fine, but the service made us never wanting to come back.
I had a nice waitress that was on point and would check on me when needed. She helped me decide what to get. 😊👍
Really good atmosphere and food. Happy hour specials are good too! Will def go back
Excellent sushi! Happy hour prices were good! Reservations accepted for smaller parties a very nice perk!
Yummy sushi, when we got there and told them about our reservation the girl said she was off and couldn’t sit us. We had to stand forever, it was 9pm place wasn’t too busy. Once we got seated it was all good.
Food was fine I guess. Tooti maki roll was uninspired and bland. The season the outside on the pork gyoza but the inside was equally bland. Service was poor at best. Server occasionally came by to check on us, we had empty drinks a couple times. Took her a while to come and take or food and drink orders.
I would really recommend for a happy hour… They are such good values there and the appetizers were awesome. We stayed for dinner and sat back in the back and the ambience wasn’t quite as good. We were sit clear back to the back and for some reason it just wasn’t very good ambience. It would be nice if there were some candles on the table to kind of spark up the place. Our sushi was very good but it wasn’t the best That we’ve ever had. The bartenders waitresses for very nice.
I don’t eat sushi. My daughter loved her sushi and asked to go there. I had teriyaki chicken which was just ok. Not much taste and it came out 5 plus minutes after the sushi. I think it was rushed. The ambiance was great and I especially loved that the bar was showing horse racing. Love that and will probably go back because if it.
Great food, Love Happy Hour pricing.
Overall a fun place to hang out.
I took my daughter there for her birthday and we walked it we were both amazed how nice it was inside. We ordered several items and I was surprised how cheap it was. The waitress I wondered a few times if she forgot about us but that was ok. Quick on getting the food out to you also. I highly recommend this place and will be going back for sure.
Inattentive, indifferent service. Felt like we were a nuisance to the waiter who preferred to be winding down his evening (we were dining at 7pm). Waiter didn't offer to re fill drinks, rushed to take away our menus, (we would've ordered additional plates to share as a group), and seemed hurried to take away our plates, and deliver us the tab. (A bit odd considering the place wasn't overly busy). Sushi was good per usual, just disappointed the service detracted from what would've otherwise been an enjoyable experience.
RA Is always a great place to go have sushi. I have learned to use OpenTable to make reservations as it gets very busy quickly in the evenings and on weekends.
Very poor service and food. Very noice place. Extremely unprofessional. Very disappointed
Wish the service was better. Especially for a larger party celebrating a 16th birthday. We did not get very much catering matter of a fact I'm not quite sure if I waitressed came back to our table more than once throughout the night except for to get our bills paid
Always a pleasure to eat at such a great place. My favorite sushi by far
We had a great time at RA! The waiter was very knowledgeable and had a great personality!
Every time we stay at Aloft it’s a must to eat here! Everything on there menu is fabulous!
Rie, our server was quite busy but still very sweet and our order was accurate. I always enjoy the food and atmosphere and it never disappoint. Bento boxes for lunch are a great way to have a little bit of everything! I will heavily suggest making a reservation ahead of time at this location because there is usually a wait to be seated unless you arrive when they open for lunch.
Lunch was nice but noise level is more than a diner should have to endure
