ZuZu at Hotel Valley Ho
We had out of town guests and took them because we’d had such a great first experience. Our guests loved it! PJ the manager is just wonderful, personally making sure every guest has a great experience! We plan to go back often and take our family members when they visit.
ZuZu has the best Mimosa bar in Old Town! They offered peach puree, strawberry puree and orange juice to go with their sparkling wine. The Cereal French Toast was to die for! I feel like ZuZu brings out your inner child with their menu options.
EXCELLENT! Katelynn our server was AWESOME! It was our 25th wedding anniversary and ZuZu was perfect! The Valley Ho gave us the perfect quiet table, the most wonderful server we could have hoped for, the food was excellent paired with the perfect wine, dessert and champagne.... excellent! PERFEC! We will most certainly stay at the hotel again, but beyond the beautiful hotel the service and food at ZuZu is by far what will bring us back. We were congratulated several times and welcomed with smiles I just can’t say enough. If you have a special day to celebrate I highly recommend doing so here and request Katelynn as your server. Her knowledge of the menu, including wine pairing was suburb!
Thank you!! Cheers!
Zuzu is a very cute restaurant. It was my second time there. Unfortunately, my second visit wasn't as good as my first. We were seated at a very nice table and as last time there was a good vibe to the surroundings. Our wait person was very nice but not as charismatic as our server on our last visit. The food was inconsistent. My wife had the scallops for her main entree and like last time they were spectacular. Cooked to perfection. I had the prime rib, which was a recommendation of our server. The plate came out warm but the meat was barely warm as were the vegetables. The prime rib was very tender but lacked flavor. I did not feel that it was seasoned well. The appetizer was also a disappointment. The filled pasta and mushrooms was very greasy and had a tasteless filling. I will say that the mushrooms were seasoned well and the appetizer was served at the appropriate temperature. Even though I was a bit disappointed I will try Zuzu again. Especially if they add to or change their menu. It's a very cool place to dine. Just needs a little help to bring it to the next level.
Came here on Saturday for brunch before a spring training game. Food was amazing and vibe was phenomenal.
Unfortunately, there was a "corporate event" in the lounge...that's a euphemism for "making more noise than one would think possible." Dang, it was loud, even though at our request they'd put us in the back of the room. However, the food and service were great.
Well if a kale Caesar salad is your thing... i guess you would like ZuZu. And if loud music is also your thing...the burger was ok... nothing special... so much for ZuZu...meh!
Beautiful space tucked away in the hotel not far from the pool patio. Nicely decorated in the mid-mod style of the hotel. Very creative menu of many small plates and several entrees. Great wine and drink options. Fun place!
The hotel itself, the spa, swimming pool and the bar. The food and service was ok .....nothing outstanding.
Love ZuZu’s Showstopper Shake!
Great food, great service, very fun vibes and lighting in the dinning room. Our birthday celebration was full of fun, good laughters and delicious food, drinks and Show Stopper desert. Thank you.
They have to start from the beginning and figure out who they are. The promotion is that they have a top chef ho is creating menu items that stand out. BUT the butter arrives that is not butter but a congealed mess (the manager later apologizes for the inexplicable material they were calling butter). They did not have the wine they were promoting on their wine list and simply substituted it for our selection.
They claimed to have run out of the ONLY data on the menu.
I get that sometimes you have a bad night and everything goes wrong- I would suggest you have capable staff who can make amends for the lack of attention to food, wine and menu items.
I was disappointed.
Food was great- had 4 apps and then because of size of apps, split two entrees. Had the scallops and scottish salmon. Had asparagus and brussel sprouts sides. Asparagus was good, sprouts were amazing.
Wine selection limited but adequate and reasonably priced.
Restaurant was cold- did turn up heat that helped. Service was slow to start but improved as night went on.
Second time to restaurant in last week- should tell you something.
Lobster way over priced and non existent
Good food and good experience
Absolutely the best combination of great seafood buffet and tasty entrees
Server was friendly and informed and his recommendations were right on!
HUGE disappointment. Dined on Valentine's Day and it was like walking into a high school gym decorated for prom. Helium-filled balloons with ribbon tails floating above the dining area - had to dodge the ribbons to navigate to our table. Table for two was very tiny. Pink and Red lights 'graced' the bar/dining area. So tacky. Prix Fixe menu was super expensive, and options very limited (yes, I understand that is the rationale with a fixed menu.) Up side: wonderful buffet with salads, charcuterie offerings, jumbo shrimp, crab legs, breads/rolls. Buffet was a dinner in itself. Entrees were so-so, and desserts were overly sweet. Not at all a value for the money. Turned us off so much we have no desire to return to check out the 'regular' menu. Too many other restaurants in Scottsdale to try and enjoy fine dining. Think twice.
Loved the ambience and the energy in the combined dining bar area.
Wine prices were reasonable, although selection was a bit limited.
Food was outstanding. Had beef short ribs, potatoes and a Vegs.
Had calamari app that was very good as well.
Cool place from time you walk in and don’t miss a walk out by the firepit outside.
We had a very attentive waitress, good was served quickly and environment is do chill. Great place for brunch.
Delicious brunch and love the 60s/mod decor. Great atmosphere.
The atmosphere was outstanding. Very cool vibe. The food was excellent and the service was very good. I will return to dine outside with friends soon.
PJ, the manager, was very friendly.
I've spent a lot of time at ZuZu, which is my go to place for both a social and business lunch, in part because the Turkey Club sandwich with coleslaw is, in my opinion, the best in town, well stacked, delicious sauce, good sourdough bread--also sized right, not too large. Other dishes are thoroughly reliable, so, again in my opinion, one can select any item on the menu and count on not being disappointed. The service is always attentive and friendly. The space is true to the restaurant's and hotel's history, solid fifties look and sound, quite attractive, really. ZuZu is not one of the Phoenix metropolitan areas gourmet spots, at least not any more, but it's solid, a good place to hang out for cocktails and a bite to eat. It deserves more patronage than it gets.
Food was good- I'd say a little pricey though!
Efficient pleasant and affordable
Everything was amazing ...Everything
We came for for the unicorn desert we stayed for the food
What a great vibe right when you walk onto the hotel property. Then the restaurant was just pleasure to be in ... they've done mid century chic right!
We sat outside and it was absolutely lovely and calm. Comfortable patio seating had us lingering with a post brunch dessert and tea after our meal.
I had the duck confit - moist and full of flavour! Wish it wasn't so early in the day so I could have had a pinot noir with it.
My husband had the dish with the egg and beef stew with potatoes. I forget the name, but it was so unique and full flavour as well. Total comfort food.
Will return and recommend to others!
I took my girlfriend of 5 years to Zuzu for her birthday. We made a reservation for 5:30pm on a Saturday. She thought I had rented out the place because It was completely empty until about 6:15-6:20. Very quiet, great service, and the ambiance was beautiful. We had a very relaxing and romantic evening. It is worth going for special occasions unless your pocketbook is full then eat here all the time. Entrees are $20 and up to $50. The food is well worth the money and portions are hearty. They made a point to make my girlfriends birthday special and for that I am very greatful. A big thank you for the great service Zuzu.
We love Zuzu. Always great food and service. The decor is beautiful, both inside and on the patio.
I love Zu Zu's. The food is interesting and tasty. They have nice wines and the setting is so fun. There is nice outdoor dining but the inside dining is roomy, comfortable and quiet enough to hear your partners' conversation. The service is friendly and efficient. The price for what you get is excellent.
Great retro stop for cup of joe, great service, excellent eggs Benedict.
Creative menu. Food was yummy. Service was friendly and good. Very much enjoyed the decor and history of the place! Nice to have valet...also friendly.
The food was excellent! The service was great, with the waitress taking the time to cater to our baby’s needs as well.
The New Year's eve dinner was overly expensive for the quality of food and service.
New Years Eve
Service was great. Friendly and prompt. Food was atrocious. Bland, tasteless and just not good. Hope they improve
Great food and service!
Christmas dinner at Zuzu can’t be beat. Great food festive ambiance—we all had a great time. Too bad Christmas comes but once a year.
Great Christmas Brunch with family
Loved ZuZu when it first opened. Comfort food and vintage vibes. Over the years it has changed several times. Very few main courses on the menu. Expensive. Menu wants to be trendy, but isn’t. Sorry they didn’t stick to the yesteryear menu and atmosphere.
Delicious food and attentive service in a hip, colorful, mid-century atmosphere. We've been here several times for special occasions and it always delivers.
