Pamper your taste buds at Zuzda. This restaurant serves tapas-style fusion cuisine in comfortable surrounds. It comes with a little of everything, including seafood dishes, steaks, vegetarian fare and sweet desserts. Visit for lunch and enjoy some tempura or some oriental stir fry chicken served with basmati rice. The bar offers a nice range of craft cocktails, complemented by an impressive wine list.

Guests are allowed to bring their own favorite vintages for a small corkage fee. An ideal choice for a casual dining experience, Zuzda is open for lunch and dinner Mondays through Sundays.
This restaurant no longer exists. It is disappointing that we were able to make reservations and then arrive to find that the owner had packed up and moved away.
We must have had dinner there more than 50 times. Food is consistently great, and so is the service. Drinks as well! Try it. Mountain Mike.
A wide variety of great tasting "little plates". Everyone can enjoy whatever they are in mood for. Don't skip the Key Lime Pie.
Service was outstanding and the food was equivalent. Enjoyed the 'small plates' and the ambiance (low light, quiet....very comfortable)....
Love the decor and the ability to try many different varieties of food in one evening. Exceptional service and fantastic food for a very special evening.
Third time eating here. They really reduced the menu, too many changes. The food was still very good however very limited choices now. Liked the previous menu better.....they also cut back days of operation.
Prices aren't bad for the area. Service was very good, attentive. I would recommend they keep to what they do/did best.....tapas.
Zuzda has changed their menu since we first started dining there but they still have all of our favorites. Don't miss the dynamite sushi rolls, chicken francaise, bang bang shrimp & fresh trout because they are always scrumptious! This time we also tried the chicken pot pie, prime rib sliders and fresh grouper fingers and we loved all of it! Our group always shares so we can try a huge variety and that's the way to go at Zuzda... Except for dessert-we don't share that because it's just too delicious to share! We did discover how tasty the tempura pineapple and caramel Brie were together and will definitely have that combo again! Wine selection is great too! Can't wait to go back soon!
As many others have found, this restaurant is a gem. Excellent food and a nicely varied tapas menu, pleasant and attentive service, and elegant decor made for a great introduction. There are several other restaurants in Banner Elk that we've liked, but this tops the list.
We had a nice meal after gaining an understanding of the menu
Have always loved this tapa's restaurant, but found on recent visit, menu had changed and been pared down. Seemed like more full entree items and less of the original smaller tapa's. Some items remained, but preferred the old menu.
For being a small restaurant in Banner Elk, NC our party of 3 was incredibly pleased. We ordered 6+ dishes (entrees and dessert) and everything was great. Generous portions for tapas (more than we could eat truthfully) the food was well seasoned and had great flavors, and a variety of menu choices.
Our waitress was friendly and helpful in recommending some of her favorite tapas. Would definitely recommend Zuzda.
This restaurant has changed, still quite good but prices have increased dramatically and the food not as exceptional as once was.
Nothing really special about this place. Our server started to bring out our dishes then told me they had run out of what I wanted so I had to wait another 15 minutes for my first dish to come out.
We left early because the service was so slow. Our salads took about 15 minutes to come out and it took 40 minutes for our main dishes to arrive. We overheard others talking that the lobster special was taking so much prep time the kitchen staff couldn't keep pace with the other orders. Rebecca was great... We liked her.
I had heard good things about this restaurant, and I thought I would give it a try. They handled a table of four well, plus a baby, well and easily. The staff was helpful and friendsly and the food was excellent.
Great place to go if you want a variety of tastes. The waitstaff is ALWAYS great. My tea glass never got below half full. The food has changed some, the filet had no seasoning, but the seafood dishes were great. Did not have the "frozen" taste that you usually get this far away from the coast. The covered outdoor area is a good place to sit and relax. The bar always seems to be a happening place. If you have never been, try the Zucchini Friti appetizer, its enough for two.
My food was basic-it's small expensive plates (tapas style). I ordered the chicken Marsala-nothing more than canned mushroom, diced chicken with brown gravy poured over it. My boyfriend had the saffron chicken which was very good. Also ordered tempura shrimp for appetizer which came out at the end of the meal.
Chef (& waiter) clueless about gluten-free (gf) diet; served "regular" spaghetti with dish claimed to be "gf"; this is MAJOR problem for someone needing gf as medical necessity (eg celiac)
My husband and I shared 3 small plates and a couple glasses of wine. We felt very full and satisfied (and had completed a long bike ride that day so we were hungry). The trout and salmon dishes were fantastic. The restaurant was nice appointed and we like that it was not too loud. We really enjoyed ourselves and will return next time we visit Banner Elk.
I don't normally write reviews but my experience here definitely deserves it. Excellent in every way. The food the service the atmosphere. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend It. The service we got was outstanding.
If you love food like I do, and want to taste a little of everything, this is the place.. All portions are snack sized and full of amazing flavor and presentation. Decor is unique and service is excellent.. Wish we had one by home... So try them out, you will glad you did.
Zuzda was definitely a one of a kind place, the food was on point but as far as aesthetics go you are really lacking. I felt like they got all of their decorations from a consignment store. If you would just renovate your restaurant I would recommend this to everyone. You've got great food, you're just stuck in the past.
Outstanding food and service as usual. Best Ceasar salad in the area.
While on vacation in Banner Elk my wife researched local restaurants in the area including Boone and Blowing Rock to have Christmas Eve dinner. Most of the restaurants were closed because it was Christmas Eve. But, Zuzda's was open. We had no idea what to expect, but Man, was this an amazing place to have dinner!!! The food was some of the best that we've eaten and the service was wonderful. I travel for work and dine out about 4 days per week. Zuzda's is in the Top 10 of my all-time favorite restaurants. I wish that there was one in my home town.
We always get the tempura veggies, bread with roasted garlic, brie, french onion soup, steak with gorgonzola, and artichokes! and top it off with the lemon drop martini!
I love the selection and quality of tapas choices. This is one of my favorite restaurants, I try to go every time I am in town.
this restaurant has more small plates than most restaurants wine list and they are all outstanding. We ate there two nights in a row and had 6 different small plates. Everyone delicious
We hadn't been to Zuzda for a few years and are so glad we renewed our acquaintance with this restaurant!! Each Tapas dish was wonderful and the portions are generous. Our wait person was very attentive and there was just enough time between each dish to savor each one. Will not wait a few years to return!!!
Had same server last thre visits, She remembered us. A nice touch.
Food and service was awesome:) really look forward to returning again soon. We always recommend Zuzdas to our friends.
Inviting atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Extensive choices of food and so far each item we have tried was outstanding.
We try to get to Zuzda every year during our timeshare trip. Tapas are always fun and Zuzda does a great job. Definitely a little something for everyone!
We were there during football season so it was GREAT to get to sneak to the bar and check out the game. :)
Four of us went. Food and Service were excellent. Everything we ordered was awesome. Go there and eat.
Huge selection of different foods. All outstanding. Comfortable atmosphere.
The only downside is that there are so many plates to choose from! The food is excellent and the portions are ideal. There are many great choices for everyone's taste!
The food was great. As usual, it did not disappoint.
It would probably be better in the bar. Not fine dining or even close.
Zuzda's is one of our favorite restaurants. We always visit when we take a trip to the mountains. The menu is outstanding. Small plate dining at its best!
Loved the service and the food! I would highly recommend to everyone .
Five friends got together for a weekend in Beech Mountian to quilt, sew and enjoy some wine on the deck. Our first stop Friday night was Zuzda's. We were amazed at the enourmous list of choices for tapas. We ordered 2 each and enjoyed every bite! I enjoyed the mountain trout and gargonzola stuffec artichokes-delicious!! A perfect sized meal that left room for a yummy dessert. Will go back in October and definately want to eat there again.
