Our meal was great!!!! This place is definitely a gem!
Staff was outstanding, food was Tasty but not for its cost but presentation was good. The ambiance was not as expected for high priced food. The drinks were excellent. Both bartender and waitress made us feel so welcomed.
Food preparation and taste was excellent! Waitstaff was attentive, but support staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Pleasant experience, though. Mixed drinks were perfect.
Comfortable seating and ambience.
Worst service with worse food.
I had seen images of the rooftop bar for some time now and finally decided to check it out without looking at the reviews prior. We were waiting for the hostess for over 5 minutes- no one at the hostess stand. The bartender had to find someone to seat us. Once sat we were given menus and no waiter ever came to greet us or ask for an order. After over 15 minutes of waiting, I had to wave over a waiter. Off the bat he had a bad attitude and was rude. He blankly stared at us as if he was interrupted. I asked for him to take our order and he scoffed. Once our food was brought out we were never checked on. Both steaks were undercooked and the overall dish was seasoned terribly. I had to flag the same waiter down for more water and the check. When he poured the water he splashed it all over the food and just walked away. The bill came out to be over $90 for terrible food and service. I spoke with the waiter and informed him of all his bad service and he didn’t even seem bothered nor apologized. After asking for the manager, he stated they didn’t have one. Behind our booth was a dinner party of 20+ that all decided to walk out without paying as no one could check them out or take their orders. Another dinner party kept having to walk to the kitchen to get service as no one would come to their table. Five different couples waited at the hostess stand and left after not being helpedDONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Great for a mid week happy hour. Weekends it is the place to "BE" before House of blues
Took my daughter here to experience downtown dining and she loved it
Great smoked brisket with baked lentils. I was Leary to try in the middle of Houston when my smoked briskets usually found in dodgy places, nice size plate and powerful smoke flavor. Great cut of meat. The lentil, i wasn’t going to eat until i thought i would try,... fantastic. I finished it all off. Nice price and very nice server. Ill be back for more.
The food was good but small portions for the price. The service was okay. We had to ask for water refill a couple of times. Could be better considering the restaurant was not too busy.
The waiter, Arthur, had great suggestions and the Burnt Ends appetizer was amazing! Definitely going back.
Decent spot for food in downtown. Very quiet on the weekends but good ambiance.
I was very disappointed about the food. I had the brisket and the next morning, I woke up with a good poisoning.
Food was ok. Not spectacular but just as expected. Had to wait a few minutes to be seated as there was no host. Other than that I would return.
Unfortunately, I made the mistake of sitting in the dining area facing the TV in the bar, as my waiter asked me to move to the bar area, despite the fact that only 4 other people were in the restaurant at the time.
The bartender was SO slow but everything was delicious
Except for the empanadas the food was great. The empanadas were so spicy hot our friend who ordered it couldn’t eat it. She likes spicy food but said they were intolerably hot. Everything else was great!
Zutros is an excellent restaurant and bar for date night. The food and ambiance was 5 star and the noise level is low so you can easily converse with others at the table. I ordered a fried oyster caesar salad.
The oysters were cooked lightly and had lots of flavor. The Zutros bar on the 23rd floor rooftop has a phenomenal view of downtown and is an excellent place to have wine or beer with friends or your spouse. It also lacks the traffic noise of street level outdoor bars. Plenty of nearby parking especially evenings. Check out both the rooftop bar and restaurant in the same evening. You'll be glad you did.
There wasn't anything wrong technically, just slightly underwhelming. We ordered the daily special lunch. I had the gumbo which was a bit salty. The cuban was good, but a little dry. Service was slow for it not being very busy. One of the servers had a very dirty vest.
We absolutely love this restaurant. Wonderful food! We also love the look of the restaurant. Modern and beautiful.
I had the special, which was catfish courtboullion, and it was outstanding! The fried quail legs were the best my husband has ever tasted. Summer squash small plate was unique and very tasty. My husband had the turtle soup, which was extraordinary. We will definitely be back.
Great Food !!
Suggestion: Have crackers or crunchy bread accompany the gumbo and wedge salad.
Loved the service and the food!
I took my husband here for his birthday. Neither of us had ever he ever been. We loved the food, the service, the ambiance and the overall experience. We can’t wait to return.
Amazing atmosphere! Had a wonderful time!
The food was amazing and staff members were really friendly! The drink I had for for my Birthday was very good!
Great! Everyone was very helpful. We had a wonderful time. We were celebrating an anniversary, they gave us a dessert and a bouquet of flowers. We will be back!
Service and food were phenomenal. A hidden gem!
The pork belly appetizer and the long chop entree were outstanding.
Great! Loved it the food was amazing the bar at the roof had such an amazing view it was outstanding
Beautifully plated and delicious from appetizers (small plates) to sides, to main courses. No room for dessert, but will definitely come back.
The service was excellent as well and on a Friday night, we got a very quiet table which was perfect for conversation and enjoying the meal.
The food was delicious
Food and service were perfect! We really enjoyed our stay at Zutros and would come back again!
Our server was exceptionally attentive. The ambiance was fantastic. The restaurant itself was completely empty and we were the only ones there however it allowed our server to give us his undivided attention. Lastly,I'd like to give out major kudos for them accommodating my vegan lifestyle. I could not order off the menu and they prepared a very delicious all vegan meal for me.
Standard hotel restaurant faire, nothing special. The drinks, however, are stellar!
Disappointed that the in-restaurant menu was missing several items that are publicized on the online menu. The food tasted decent but didn’t live up to all hype of other reviews. Restaurant was slow in the early evening but the acoustics and happy hour crowd made it extremely difficult to hear the person across the table.
My first time at this restaurant and I loved it! The food was fresh and well-seasoned.
Houston has no idea how lucky they are to have Chef Troy Deano. We in Louisiana miss him and his delicious cooking! Every dish was amazing, but ones that stood out were the pork belly, brussel sprouts, duck confit, butternut squash, shrimp and grits, and roasted chicken! Thank you for an amazing night Chef Troy and crew!
Great place to hang with friends or family. One of the managers was rude to my guest , but besides that the rooftop bar was awesome with great drinks.
Overpriced and not the great service. Took 15 minute to get coffe We wed ind if 3 tables period. Would not go back
Menu looked good but dishes were under-executed. Overall, it was unnecessarily underwhelming. We were nearly the only table in the restuarant. Every plate should have been their best work. Cute interior though.
Chef Troy Deano has done it again with Zutro! The cuisine is a flawless fusion of wonderful meats, seafood and unique vegetable accompaniments that makes you feel as if each dish, is being invented and prepared for you right then... Superb wine selection, too. Located in the LeMeridien Hotel in downtown Houston, the rooftop bar is worth a visit, too.
What a terrific find! Wanted to try something new for our pre-theatre dinner and was not disappointed! We started with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and OMG. I think every restaurant should start serving Pork Belly Burnt Ends! That dish was phenomenal... sweet and succulent and perfectly fatty yet crisp with flavorful burnt edges. Together with the pickled vegetables, wrapped in fresh butter lettuce, each bite was a perfect one!
The brisket was also delicious, and the burger was wonderful, as well. The Malbec was decent and paired nicely with the smokiness of our dishes. We didn't have time for dessert, but we both agreed we would return!
We thought it was nice, great server, but pricey for what it was. But location was great, going to Hobby Center, valet was easy and efficient. Would go again, but not for everyday dining, too expensive.
