ZuccA is always a great go to place for terrific food and great service.
We were a party of 6. Had a great evening all around. Excellent service and food. My trout was beautifully done. A bit on the noisy side, but great atmosphere.
The appetizer for shooter was pretty good, but the main course of squid ink pasta and fruit de mare was very mediocre food, and pretty well tasteless
Fish is always excellent. Very good service will always come back
Had a fantastic experience here. Everyone was awesome and accommodating and food was fabulous.
8 of us really really enjoyed and each person said they would come back.
Wonderful dining experience! Great service and well spaced out dinner.
To be honest, although the food was tasty, the fact that the fish fillet was less than three ounces and $32 was ludicrous.
Service was good.
Ambiance: 4/5 its a nice and cozy restaurant with good decor and dim lighting.
Food: 3/5 its decent, but it didn’t blow me away- especially for those prices. Came in expecting much more depth in flavour, and unfortunately was not impressed.
Value: 3/5 High quality ingredients with poor execution leaving you wanting more. The prosciutto entree was the best dish, and the tagliatelle was fresh but the sauce lacked something. The steak was just steak, on a bed of greens, cooked well but again lacking something.
Service: 4/5 Service was ok, noticeable lulls between table clearing and drink refilling when the restaurant wasn’t that busy, but they were friendly.
Overall wouldn’t really visit again for the price.
It was my husband birthday dinner.
Their service was super nice and foods were amazing!!
I think this restaurant is one of best restaurant in Toronto. Definitely we will go back and we really recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant is great atmosphere and we could relax.
Impeccable service. Food is consistently excellent and innovative. Ambiance and seating comfortable and well calibrated to relaxed yet professional, friendly and well executed dining experience. Nothing disappoints so order away.
Delicious food. One of our friends seem to have gotten smaller portions of the same dish as another friend. When this was brought to the attention of the waitress, the concern was dismissed and we were told that it just looked like a smaller portion due to use of different shaped plates.
Wonderful dinner...pasta amazing...the whole fish was one of the best...
Zucca is a unique combination...it is solid and experienced AND is innovative. Always have fab food and fantastic servers. Thank you!
Great. Highly recommended.
Wonderful as always!!
We were there Sat Feb 24, 2018 for dinner. My husband and I and friends, have been there several times. Food is great. Although I must say the service was disappointing. Not from a standpoint of making us wait at all, or forgetting things, just from a point of impatience. Our server did not have any patience for questions or uncertainty with the menu. My husband tends to rely on the server to ask what their recommendations are and sometimes needs a few minutes. She clearly did not have the patience and made some snarky remarks. Our entire table noticed her demeanor. Once our coffees were down, she circled our table non stop , so I suggested to our friends that we ask for the bill as it is clear she had somewhere to be. As we were the last table in the restaurant (2nd last had just left and it was not closing time yet) as soon as we signed the bill she snatched it aggressively from the table and bolted. Everyone at the table was a bit shocked at the behavior.
In any event, the chef is great, runners are so sweet and pleasant, but as I was a server in another life (long ago), I must say.. if you don't like working with people, then don't. It reflects badly on all the other people that are there working hard to make it a good experience for customers and it only takes that one person to make you rethink the entire experience.
Every time I go to Zucca with my wife and friends, we always have a wonderful experience and are never disappointed. The service is impeccable and the food is fabulous. The menu changes at times and the new dishes offered are stupendous! The ambience is beautiful and is not so loud that you have to yell or strain to hear the conversation with friends. There is never any rush while you dine even when you’re the last ones to leave. Lol! I would recommend this to anyone who lives or visits midtown Toronto. Thank you to everyone at Zucca!!!
The homemade pasta (we had the cheese ravioli and tomato sauce) is the best in Toronto for texture and flavour. The snapper on a bed of grains with a vegetable torte was perfect. Wine recommendation was excellent and service was personalized and delightful without being intrusive. The ambiance was relaxed and good acoustics allowed us to have conversation throughout the meal without the need to scream or not hearing what the other was saying. We will be back and telling our friends to put Zucca on their dining list.
The food was favorable but a little too salty for our taste.
I mistakingly booked a table for six for a Sunday night that was suppose to be Friday and when we actually arrived on Friday at 8:30pm what I thought was our night, to my surprise I realized I had mixed up the two date. The manager encouraged us to remain and that he would figure something out and low and behold within 15 minutes, a table for six was put together and from that point on we had a wonderful night. The food is delicious and the service is spectacular. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!
Nice menu, decent wine list, great food and presentation, great service, great vibe. Overall very enjoyable Friday night neighbourhood restaurant.
Bad, bad, bad, bad. Expensive. Bad, bad, bad, bad. Expensive.
Friendly, attentive service.
One of our favs. Highly recommend.
Always great food, wines and service. Showed up 20 minutes before our 5:30 reservation and they opened their doors to let us in out of the cold - even though they were still setting up for the evening.
Excellent food. I very much enjoyed the Cornish hen, which was surprisingly spicy. While I like spicy food, this should be mentioned when ordering as it could be a problem for some. My husband had an excellent pasta dish for his main course, but it was quite a small portion, more like an appetizer. Service was great.q
Very good food as usual, my only negative i thought the breast of duck portion was on the small side but very tasty , thank you
Zucca continues to shine. Excellent food and great service. Starters included the octopus which was cooked perfectly-tender and delicious. The pasta entrees were well done. Refreshing to have homemade pasta with different sauces. Love the use of celery root in the dishes-added a nice subtle taste. We even made room for dessert-gelato mango and hazelnut and the chocolate dessert for two was admittedly much but who can resist such great food!
Slow service unfortunately. Branzino was dry not as tasty as ive had here previously. Pasta not exceptional. Low value for $100 per person meal
The passion for the food and customer experience is obvious in the service. The food was wonderful, service just right - can't wait to return. A new favorite.
Creative food that never fails to deliver. Have been coming here for years and it keeps getting better!
First time experience! Will definitely come back. Warm atmosphere.
I love Zucca!! Never disappointed.Food is delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Best fish in town!!!
Best whole fish in the City - grilled to perfection with a pinch of salt and olive oil. Relatively new wait staff a big improvement over past years - love the place but secretly wish for them to occupy a slightly larger space so that they can offer bar service....
Had a great time at Zucca. Service was top notch and friendly. Would definitely return.
Food was authentic, cooked perfectly, and delicious.
Corkage program is a nice bonus too.
Consistently sensational, from Blair's warm greeting upon our arrival, through the professional and knowledgable service, to the spectacular food. We usually default to the excellent fish choices however this visit we tried the grilled and sliced steak (Tagliata di Manzo) sitting on a salad with pickled mushrooms, shaved parmigiana reggiano, and a balsamic vinegar drizzle. Tremendous! The highlight of the night was the grilled octopus with a purée of lava beans, roasted fennel & radicchio. This appetizer has been a mainstay of their menu for decades; however this fall's version is my all-time favourite. Will return for it again soon.
The food was outstanding and the service just as good. I highly recommend it!
Right from the bread and straight to the dessert, our meals were absolutely delicious. The bread was warm, with a perfect crust and excellent crumb. It was served with a very fresh, herb flavoured olive oil that had a grassy aroma. Lovely! Typically none of us eat the bread that is served in most restaurants, but all of enjoyed Zucca's bread because it was fantastic. (I will be returning to this restaurant for the bread alone!) The Caciocavallo plate of crostini and cheese was a bit sparse, but the cheese was flavourful and the crostini fresh and crisp. One person at our table ordered the fish of the day and he said it was cooked to perfection. My mushroom ravioli with truffle sauce was out of this world delicious. Another person enjoyed the uniquely flavoured squid ink pasta with octopus. The side dish of perfectly roasted vegetables included brussels sprouts, carrots, sweet potatoes and other vegetables (possibly parsnip) was exquisitely flavourful. Everyone enjoyed a taste of the dessert: figs sauteed in wine served with mascarpone cheese which was slightly sweet, and had a delightfully buttery flavour. It was a unique and creamy ending to a fantastic meal.
Always a great meal at Zucca. Fantastic pastas, and grilled fish is a specialty.
We love going to Zucca. Great staff and wonderful food.
