Zou Zou’s is a lively and modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant from chef Madeline Sperling, who spent years working at some of the most notable restaurants throughout New York City, including Gramercy Tavern and The NoMad. Sperling is joined by Juliana Latif, who works with her in the kitchen [the duo met and cooked alongside each other at The NoMad]. Together, they have created a menu inspired by and celebrating the cuisine and flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean region, bringing in influences from Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, among others.

Zou Zou’s is located within the Manhattan West Plaza, on the ground level of Pendry Manhattan West. If arriving at 33rd Street (between 9th & 10th), follow the walkway to the plaza, turn left, and find the Zou Zou’s entrance on your left.

Wonderful food, cocktails, and ambiance. A lot of work and attention to detail go into this operation. However, we felt a bit rushed while there and were disappointed to not have been shown the dessert menu.

Host was SO rude - waited over an hour for our table after I had called and reconfirmed how long the wait would be if we came in at 7. I was told 10-20 min at max. Host spoke to me with so much attitude. Food looked and sounded good on menu - but that's it. Everything needs to be fixed. As a middle Eastern, everything tasted so wrong and off. Duck Borek isn't supposed to taste like baklava. Manti was huge and did not have the proper spices. The kasseri cheese dried up in 3 min and was inedible The fluke was flavorless. Also why is fried chicken $75??? I get NY prices and inflation - but really? The only good thing was the dips and Turkish bread. Restaurant is targeted towards Instagram aesthetic, but that's about it. Super disappointed.

The only thing I’d complain about is that for a restaurant that’s about sharing food and enjoying group meals, the music was so loud you can hardly hear the person next to you talk. I came home with a sore throat! Dial down the music volume so at least the guests can hear each other say “pass the dip” would be nice!

Service needs work. Drinks took a long time often coming at different times entirely. Glassware went empty for a while before acknowledgement. Good food but not perfect timing - things staggered in odd times, requests were forgotten. Ambiance on patio was lovely however very buggy so recommend having some sort of repellent nearby.

This is my 3rd time here and I still feel the same way I did on my other two visits — this place is AWESOME! Great food, vibe, decor, drinks, etc. I LOVE the oysters, scallops, fried chicken, steak and pull apart bread to name a few things — you cannot go wrong with the food! The service is also a major reason for me going back and wanting my loved ones to experience this place. Kaja has been my server on all three occasions and each time I’ve been, she just makes me and my guests feel so well taken care of. She’s an absolute gem! The entire team here is lovely! I love it here! Taking my outta town cousins here in a couple of weeks..

Service was nonexistent. No one acknowledged us when we sat for at least 20 minutes, and that continued for the rest of the meal. Never had water empty glass sat way too long no one offered us more drinks and staff was clearly not busy just ignoring everyone. Table next to us had to flag down server for check. Food was average at best, but definitely not worth the price. I could go on but just take my word for it, not good.

The food is good and so is service. Issue is that they rush the food. Appetizers are delivered right away (which is good), but then entree is served minutes later, shortly followed by the bill.

While the food is fabulous, the restrictions on seating limit (90 minutes for 2 guest) cause the servers to be overly pushy and do not allow diners the experience of sitting for two moments to review the menu options. We were asked 5 times in the first 10 minues of sitting at the table if we were ready to order. Also, when the food came out, it comes all at once. We had the dips come out, followed by scallops one minute later, followed by the main one minute after that. We wound up having to leave the dips for last as we didn't want the scallop/mezze plates to lose their intended temperature. It's a shame that diners are not allowed to fully enjoy the wonderful plates they are putting in front of you because they are trying to turn tables so quickly. We wound up going to another restaurant across the street for after-dinner drink and dessert because we didn't feel comfortable staying any longer at the table. Will unfortunately not make this a frequently visited option as the experience was not one deemed enjoyable.

Place is cool - and presentations are beautiful. The dips and spreads - odd not bad just odd. Artichokes Great - Caesar salad awful Too much STUFF - the Caesar at quality meats is one of the best Shrimp skewer good. Maybe dinner is better!

We had a lovely night here enjoying the truly visionary food ….was a little bit of a wait but worth every minute when one delectable dish after another arrived. Special thanks for Austin Nixon for taking such wonderful care of us and the beautiful desserts were a sweet way to end a perfect evening oh and don’t forget about the fried chicken truly worth the hype
