Beautiful restaurant! Service was amazing! Appreciate our waitress helping us order just the right amount of food! The sangria is really unique!!
This place is amazing! From the moment we walked in, the team that greeted us was warm, welcoming and helpful. We were early for our res so they gave us the option of waiting for our table or seating us immediately at the chef’s table—can’t remember the actual name of this seating. We took the chefs table option and it was perfect! We could watch the magic of the kitchen while enjoying our meal and night!
So…the service! Kaja took care of us and she was ABSOLUTELY LOVELY! She had great recos, was incredibly attentive while still giving us our space, she was so much fun, warm and kind. We had the best time interacting with her! Everyone who came to us throughout our meal was absolutely lovely!
Now the food! Off. The. Hook! We had the oysters, sea bass and butter lettuce salad which were all incredibly delicious, and complemented each other perfectly!
The space and vibe of the restaurant is so good too! It’s beautiful, cool, chic, with great background music!
We can’t wait to keep going back and working our way through the menu.
Amazing food and cocktails. Service was lovely. Flaming cheese was awesome.
This restaurant is beautiful and the food is so good! Service is also great - we obviously had a great experience. Loved the Grilled Bazlama (similar to pita bread) and green tahini. I also loved my salad and the burger was v good - not too greasy. Great ambience - we’ll definitely be back.
A delicious experience, great cocktails, food and service.
Excellent! What a great, eclectic menu! Service was excellent. Will be back.
We went with a small group for apps and drinks and had the most delicious dips and cocktails. The vibes were perfect and the tables were very spaced out, too! Our honey pull apart bread and sweet potato with miso butter by far the best thing we ate. The staff were courteous and split our check specifically to account for the vegetarians who hadn’t eaten any of the lamb (saved us a venmo hassle!) Overall a lovely experience.
The food was great and so was the service. I stopped here with my family for lunch and we had a great time. The restaurant itself can be somewhat tricky to find If you are new to Manhattan. There was only a couple of other tables at the time that were occupied and we were seated promptly. My only complaint were the 21 dollar three dipping sauces. The quantity is quite small for each even though you get 3. Probably 12-15 dollars is a more reasonable price for the quantity provided. Overall very good experience.
Nice place to go with large group and share delicious food.
New Year’s Eve
Food was nowhere near the quality of $150 for a meal. Service was fine, though when we ordered chicken, there wasn’t a heads up that it’s dark meat and full of bones that you might swallow. The dips were quite bland. The prices were a steakhouse level price for food that was 3/10.
Great service, great food! I will return to try more plates. Def get the mix of spreads to try.
Absolutely the best place in that area. Perfect for anything.
Absolutely loved the food. The chicken and sea bass entrees are a must try. Perfect place to share food with family and friends. Our waitress made the evening unforgettable. Definitely coming back.
Hi Max, thank you for the review! The sea bass is also my personal favorite. We appreciate you for sharing your experience and we hope to see you soon!
Very nice food and atmosfere.
Expensive but good experience
The food was incredible, and our server was really friendly and make good recommendations.
We tried this for the first time on Christmas--and it didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered was tasty and fresh. The service was outstanding.
Hi Lydia! Thank you for joining us for Christmas and leaving your review. We're so happy you gave us a try. We look forward to seeing you soon!
We came to NYC to get engaged/propose
Food, atmosphere and service were superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Wow! Where have you been all my life Zou Zou’s. From the warm greeting to the stellar service it was an exceptional experience. And the food was perfect! This is a new favorite.
Kirk, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. We're happy to be here for you know! We're honored to be a new favorite and we look forward to seeing you soon!
This is one of the best Mediterranean foods that I try. The flavors where amazing... Highly recommended
We had a reservation for 10 on a Friday but we came a couple hours early and they accommodated us no problem. The service was great, our waitress explained the menu to us and gave us some great recommendations. Our favorite dishes were the Manti, Fried Chicken, and Cheesecake, but everything was great. Definitely would recommend Zou Zou’s for any occasion. The interior is also beautifully designed and very reminiscent of the Mediterranean.
Thank you so much for your comments. We are so glad to hear how much you enjoyed your experience with us and look forward to hosting you again soon!
Overpriced corporate ambience at this mash up "middle eastern" restaurant with oddly executed dishes. The dips tasted like supermarket items and the green tahini was basically foam. The fattoush was a red cabbage slaw served with a crisp pita on top...an insult to authentic fatuoush and a bad reinterpretation of the real thing. The broccoli was excellent...not really middle eastern as were the sweet potatoes, again not particularly middle eastern.
The kataifi baklava cheesecake was an interesting attempt at something that was too dry and didn't really work.
Overpriced wine last.
Not going back when NYC has so many better options for contemporary middle eastern.
interesting but somewhat limited menu that was well executed. wine list also interesting selections but has exorbitant markups
The food was decent but pricey but unfortunately the server was super unfriendly and rude. We asked a question about a dish at another table and she said she thought it was the lamb but didn't know as she couldn't see it. Just a strange comment and seemed like she couldn't be bothered. I was really looking forward to dining here as I came from California but she soured our experience. Not a hospitable experience for a new restaurant.
From begging to end this meal and experience was amazing! Drinks, food (oh my god the food) service, wine, ambiance, EVERYTHING was completely outstanding. I can not wait to go back.
While the food wa very good, our waiter was not. He missed that I ordered 2 of the same entray and only brought 1 and brought the other 2 lunch orders. Didn't stop by to see how all was, we had to flag him down. Took too long to get the replacement order.
The manager did offer a round of free drinks to make up for the issue. But then the waiter allowed the kitchen to close before asking if we wanted any dessert or coffee.
And if one more person said awesome after every conversation, i was ready to scream. IT WAS NOT AWESOME!
Amazing service and food. Beautiful space with great ambiance
Great restaurant had a nice evening. Food was very good and well presented
Just the absolute best dinner. Gorgeous space, gracious and professional service, food was delicious and original. My new go-to restaurant!
Beautiful setting, lovely food and attentive service—and in a neighborhood that has nothing of this caliber!
Incredible menu, service and ambiance - definitely becoming a "go-to" for me in my neighborhood!
Beautiful space, delicious food with incredible hospitality
This is my second time here and it was good as my first time. Great food, great drinks and an amazing service.
Loved the food! Service was great!
Delicious food and amazing service! Will be back for sure!
We had an early dinner for 2 prior to Lincoln Center show. Busy bar for Happy Hour. Beautiful decor inside - tiled floor, plants, lighting, cozy setting, wood fired oven, open kitchen and clean bathroom. Our window seat looking out toward skating rink outside.
Two cocktails “by hand” - A Golden Negroni and a Manhattan West. Perfect.
Ordered 3 choices from a selection of dips - a whipped ricotta, a Kambocha squash and a charred eggplant - along side our choice of bread (several to choose from) a Turkish Bazlama. Just delicious.
Shared a seasonal Persimmon salad. Again delicious and refreshing.
Had a Branzino and a Lobster Tagine. With a side of charred broccoli. Prepared wonderfully.
The only gripe would be with the coffee and desert. Espresso lukewarm to cold. The cheesecake overdone with “phyllo hay”
Service and staff excellent.
Would like to return to try their “specialties” like leg off lamb and duck.
Hi Kenneth! Thank you for sharing such a thorough and kind review of your experience. We're happy to hear you enjoyed the food (the branzino is my favorite!). We appreciate your feedback on coffee, and the team will definitely work to improve our coffee service. We hope to see you soon - for the duck, lamb, and maybe more!
I've never written a review. I've never taken the time or truly been that upset over a restaurant dining experience that I would even bother to write anything up. I was so excited to visit Zou Zou after the theater tonight. But it was so disappointing. The energy of the staff was strangely negative, service inefficient/uneven, limited menu and the service was super rushed. They brought out our 1 course before we even finished our appetizer and it was cold and super fishy. We had to send it back. The atmosphere was beautiful, but the food was not great and expensive for what it was. The best thing about the restaurant was the lovely hostess Sultana and catching up with an old friend. After months of staying in and being so careful of where we dine- we were so looking forward to this new place, but I actually feel sick to my stomach at the moment... Maybe we caught it on a bad night, but I definitely wouldn't go back.
Thank you so much for your detailed review. We are so sorry that you had a disappointing experience, and we take your feedback to heart. We are always looking for ways to improve. We hope you change your mind and decide to come back. Please let us know and we would love to have you join us again
Beautiful decor, good food, good service
