Zolo's Italian Restaurant
The place was very pretty but that is about it. For the price we paid I expected much better food. We had a reservation at 7:30 and stood at the check in table for over 10 mins with no one up front to great us and when the lady finally came up she was not friendly and acted as though we were getting in the way of what she had to do. The food I could have cooked better myself at home. Not tasty at all and very overpriced. I do not recommend this place.
Have loved and dined at this restaurant frequently. They're pasta dishes in particular are superb. The venue was a little chilly during our last visit. The server, while friendly, would take 2-3 visits spread over several minutes to bring requested items (drinks, side items, etc.) -- kind of in a one-at-a-time manner, so that could be improved. We'll be back as we enjoy the menu and location.
Good food, large portions, great atmosphere. A great place for special occasions!
Our server was terrific. The food was creative and delicious. Cant wait to go back.
Food was excellent! but we felt it was a bit overpriced. Almost $8 for a serving of soup is a bit pricey. The bread was good and our entrees delicious! We would recommend Zolo's to friends.
Very enjoyable evening with great service and good meal. Very convenient, unhurried. Salmon entree was outstanding.
Valentines Day daye
We enjoyed our time at Zolo’s. It was Valentine’s and we made the reservations weeks ago but at the last minute a few friends wanted to join us and Zolo’s refused to work them in. We got there at opening and for over an hour half the restaurant was empty. We also watched them turn multiple families away due to them being “booked”. We enjoyed our food. It’s pricey for what you get. Food was fresh and good just not sure a pasta dish with 3 shrimp and 2 scallops was worth $30. We met our friends elsewhere and gave another restaurant that business the next day.
Greeting at the door was not welcoming, had a reservation and said special occasion but no one asked. The appetizer dish was cold on one end so obviously pre-made and warmed in a microwave. Server seemed inexperienced. Had to ask various times for silverware, condiments, bread, etc.; however, he was very pleasant. Main course was above average.
The food was fantastic and service was attentive and friendly.
Always excellent service and outstanding meal. We come to Zolo for all our special occasions.
I had the shrimp and scallops angle hair pasta. It was delicious . Wife had trapenese white fish. Fish was mild and good sitting on abed of angle gaur. Very good.
Food was okay. Filet mignon was very small portion. The sauce on it was way to heavy. Appetizers were good.
Food was great - Fresh and presented well, but even better was the flavor - The entrees were good sized portions - Caesar was very good and very fresh - French onion soup was VERY good - Good blend of all ingredients - Onions were firm and not overcooked as many restaurants do with this soup
Service was friendly and welcoming without hovering - It was crowded which always adds to the atmosphere but was not noisy.
Whether a special couples occasion or a group of friends, I highly recommend Zolo's.
A wonderful dining experience! My husband had the Chicken Marsala and I had the Angel Hair Del Pescatore. Both were outstanding. We both commented about how we want to come back very soon and try other dishes. Our waiter, Trevor, was attentive and helpful. We definitely recommend the restaurant, but wish for a little better wine list. Cheers!
The food was amazing. We had the calamari as an appetizer and it melts in your mouth. The salmon and ravioli was outstanding! Best salmon I have ever had. My husband tweaked his puttanesca by asking them to remove the olives and add a little pesto and the chef complimented him on the choice. We would definitely return again and again.
The Chicken Marsala is the best I have ever eaten!
Cozy neighborhood Italian eatery with tasty food, a good wine selection and great service. I could make a meal of the homemade bread.
Always an enjoyable experience! Fantastic service, scrumptious food and delightful ambience. Our favorite Italian restaurant!
Great food, great service!! Best gin martini I’ve had!!
Zolo's is the BEST GO TO Italian Restaurant in the Franklin area with a Great Owner/CHEF
Food and ambiance was good our waiter was awful though. He didn’t realize we were there for 15 mins before greeting us. Also very slow on getting wine order another to to 15 mins and just seemed like he was in space and had no idea how to be a waiter.
We Love, Love, Love Zolo's in Franklin. We can always count on great service, great food and a great experience without being rushed.
Thank you, Melissa!! =-)
Great service; easy parking; The menu is a bit limited for a vegetarian but they were able to accommodate.
Thanks for your review!!
Have lived in Franklin for over 5 years and never tried Zolo's till about 8 or 9 months ago. Have been there 5 or 6 times since. Great marinara!! Chicken Parm and Eggplant Parm are outstanding and the wife just had the lasagna on New Year's Eve.....awesome!! Good value too. Nice ambiance with the checkered tablecloths on the tables for 2.
Thank you, Michael!!
New Years Eve
Best Italian food anywhere!
Thank you, Sandi! Merry Christmas!
Wife and I went for date night. We've always seen Zolo's downtown but never tried it. We had a great time and is definitely a gem in downtown Franklin that doesn't get the credit it's due. It's quaint and small inside. About half tables were taken and still quiet and romantic. Server was fantanstic. The food was really good, there where several things that sounded good that we wanted to try. We'll be back for sure!
Thank you, Brad!!
I am never disappointed with my meal when I dine at Zolo's. It's my favorite place to go before a show at the Franklin Theatre.
Always a favorite for our family and friends!!
Thank you, Melissa!
Relatively expensive for ambience and location. Food is definitely above average for local Italian choices in our area, but at significant cost for the overall dining experience. Worth consideration but too expensive for routine dining.
We were seated at the correct time of our reservations. Bradley was excellent and the food and service was great!
Thank you, Newton!
The food is wonderful and Brian always accomodates any requests! The ambiance is so nice and not too noisy even when completely full! Thank you again!
Thank you, Debbie!!! =-)
Sorry but this restaurant was mediocre at best. The meal took forever to get to the table. The chicken piccata was doused in cheap wine. The French onion soup had a burnt aftertaste. The restaurant itself is cute, and well situated in downtown area, but my husband and I will not return.
Overall, dinner was ok. The bread was great but our salad and entree were just ok. No issues with the service but we have had much better in the area.
Great holiday specials & cocktails!
Hidden gem in downtown Franklin. Great good and service.
Thank you, Steve!!!
Very pleasant, well paced. Delicious food—white fish with pesto/tomato sauce, chicken Parmesan. Lettuce in house salad was a little wilted but ice cold salad bowl made up for it. Hot and crisp Parmesan bread. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Always a nice experience!
The ambiance at Zolo’s is always refreshing. Our food was excellent!
Good food, neighborhood gem.
The sauces and food were delicious. Would recommend if you are looking for a good Italian meal. Only draw back was it was incredibly HOT in the restaurant - dress accordingly.
