I always love the food and usually the service too. We visited for happy hour on Sunday and the gal we had as our server was less than pleasant. If she would have at least smiled that would have made a huge difference.
Great place every time. Very good food, and very good service. Fun place to bring friends. Also they are always very accommodating. Overall a great experience.
We are somewhat up in years. My wife and I sensed the waitress did not give us as much attention as she did to the young crowd around us. We tried to make a connection but it was clear we were not here favorite people. Had to ask for things as other wait staff persons passed by.
Great food, very unique. Service was great. I really liked the chips with the black bean and salsa served as we were seated.
Overall, Zocalo is a good place to grab a nice meal with friends and family. The ambience is light and airy. The portions are generous and flavorful. I would’ve paid less for half size portions if I could or combo plates. The cilantro rice though can be overpowering for some. The service can be delayed in terms of water refills or pacing but nothing too terrible as there are delicious chips and salsa to munch on as you watch a game on the bar TVs.
Went on a first date. Reservation was perfect, showed up 10 minutes early and table was ready, with a reserved sign as well. We received complimentary hot chocolate(very well crafted), which was very welcoming on that cold/rainy night. Our waitress was amazing and excellent attention to detail.
Made a request for a booth or out of the way table for our date night, and they made it happen. I know that's not always possible, but I totally appreciate that they could accommodate us. Loved the extra touch of a Mexican hot chocolate shot as we were starting to look over the menu. Food was delicious and our server was very on top of things. Zocalo is not a quiet place to slink into a corner. It's lively and the crowd is busy having fun and enjoying their food. We definitely did that.
Water was never refilled, couldn’t get a hold of our waitress for at least 20 minutes, no straws were available.
Food was good, mojitos barely had any alcohol.
Love the salmon, rice, beans, dip,! Actually love all of it. This is a great place to have dinner with my adult grandkids!
Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere !! We love the service and the surroundings !!
Love this place! Always friendly service and food is delicious too!
Great service, great food and great price for an Awesome experience!
I didn't think it would be so crazy on NYE! The noise was a bit much where we could not conversate. HOWEVER! The service was great and the food was fantastic. We'll be back again on a less busy night!
Server was great. Front desk a little confused. It was New Years Eve but at 6:45 they should have at a better flow.
Staff was excellent at accommodating me for a special occasion and was very focused on making my evening a great one which is rare to see these days but greatly appreciated.
Great atmosphere, great food and excellent Margaritas!
Great way to celebrate your bday with your close friends!
Interesting, fresh versions of Mexican standards, lovely warm atmosphere, relaxed and efficient service. Lots of comfortable seating indoors and out. Drink and dinner menus were varied but not overcrowded. Prices aligned perfectly with quality.
Zocalo is one of my favorite restaurants, however i am so dissatisfied with my visit yesterday for brunch. It seems as though a lot of the staff was very “relaxed” and non challant about the service to their guests. Our server hardly came to check on us and we were constantly having to ask other workers for anything. The check took extremely long to receive as well. We also weren’t given the corn bread like all the other tables were and the chips, Salsa and beans were not nearly as tasty as they have been in the past.
Second time coming here. I made a reservation for the wrong day by mistake, and they managed to seat us anyways. I would have understood if they didn’t, but it was VERY much appreaciated, and I had to take the time to leave a review. Food and service was great as usual. If you like carnitas, this place is a must try.
always the food is consistently good. It is a beautiful restaurant and the service is always very good. it is a noisy restaurant on the weekends so I would not recommend it for a romantic evening.
We originally made a reservation to sit outdoors but it ended up being a bit chilly that day so we requested to sit inside. The staff was very quick to accommodate us. Our server was fenomenal, always checking if we needed anything despite the busy brunch crowd. The food was great, it was a good mix of traditional Mexican dishes and some more Americanized options as well. It’s hard to get that combination down and they do a great job. The only little thing was I’m not sure the prices fit what you get but that’s excepted from any place around this location so it’s no biggie. Will definitely be coming back with the family soon.
We arrived early for our reservation and they seated us right away. Every dish was loved by its recipient and shared emphatically with others because "you have to try this" Chile relleno, carnitas, and the cochinita pibil was literally the most ridiculous dish ever ordered and in the most amazing way. Everyone at the table was speechless when they tasted the salty sweet goodness of the pork shoulder and the pickled onion was a perfect touch. The camarones a la diabla was a huge portion of spicy, but light fair that made me want more. All of this was washed down with the Cadillac margarita that never disappoints.
Great food, out of the box mexican food, and the service was also great.
We had dinner reservations for 14 and they placed us next to the front door so half our party was cold the whole time. Not a pleasant holiday meal.
Food was great, service was great until the last 15 mins - we had to wait 15 mins for the check...which was very weird. Other than that, it was good.
We had lunch with my wife's brother who came over from the Cal Vet Home in Yountville to watch the Home's Musical Group perform at the State Capitol Building. Lunch was terrific and the service and ambiance was perfect......Made for a terrific family visit. Thanks.
Very over crowded, people had to squeeze to walk,
You can tell the Waiter was over his day and wanted to go home
Everything was good. The pastel 3 leches is not like the original but still is a good dessert same with carnitas.
Tasty food, excellent service. Near Sacramento's theaters in a lively part of town.
The ambiance and the food were terrific. Plus the holiday decorations really make this place spectacular. I cannot wait to be back!
The food was okay, but the music was so loud it was difficult to hear the conversation going on at our table and the service was terribly slow so not a good lunch spot.
Super wonderful- staff is great and the food is delicious. It is my go-to when my family is in town.
Second year going for the office holiday lunch. The space is beautifully decorated for Christmas and the food was really good. Service was great. Street parking at lunch can really suck but use the valet and you don’t have to worry.
The host told us that we only had an hour since they were busy. That was weird since I had never heard that from any other restaurant before. My husband order the three taco dish and it came with red cabbage, now who puts red cabbage in tacos??????. The parking also was pretty bad. I am not coming back . We went to celebrate our anniversary but this restaurant spoiled it
Matt, our server, was outstanding & made sure we had everything that we needed.
The restaurant itself is beautiful, server was prompt and nice! Overall food was alright, many of us in the large party felt the same way. Food was overpriced for the quality of it.
We had a great experience for our holiday gathering. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I highly recommend eating here.
My mother-in-law requested to eat here for her birthday. We love this place and our 1 1/2 drive here is worth it!! Food is delicious and consistent every visit! And margaritas on point!
Food is delicious ! Great atmosphere! Great service!!
Beautiful Christmas Decorations!!
Love this place!!
