We went for their Brunch and it was sooooo good!! I would definitely recommend their bottomless mimosas 💗🥂 there breakfast burrito and shrimp tacos were outstanding! Plus they have a fun outdoor patio to enjoy!
We had a wonderful, relaxing lunch. Our server was excellent and timed our drinks and meal perfectly. The classic margarita was excellent. I tried the taco sampler and was not disappointed! The fish taco was superb. We will definitely be back.
Food was delicious and our server was so nice! Will go back!
Great food and margaritas!
Our dinner was SO good. We will be back! Can’t wait.
I think the server was having a bad day. Super nice guy but made multiple mistakes. He did try, and he as always kind but he made a lot of mistakes.
There’s no blind in the first booth behind the host. If you’re sitting there at dusk or for dinner it is absolutely terrible. Literally, you feel like the sun is lasering in from the window. It makes it so hot you sweat sitting there. It’s awful. For any other guest sitting in that seat please correct that. My one ticket paid for a new blind, I’m sure of it.
Got our order wrong, although they did correct it at the very end we were ready to go.
The chips were burnt.
Fish tacos were amazing. Server was great!
Delicious food that is definitely not the regular run of the mill
Delicious food and very accommodating for our daughter’s birthday celebration!
Awesome food and awesome people! The happy hour is incredible and at a great price with so many great seasonal cocktail options. The service is amazing too! 10/10 recommend!
Great atmosphere. Food was amazing. Worth it if you enjoy Mexican!
Our waiter was awesome, he gave us complimentary chip and salsa which was a nice perk since we were there celebrating a 25th birthday!
Very good food!! The tortilla soup and breakfast burrito were amazing HOWEVER the service was questionable. Our server had attitude and was not overly friendly.
The host was super nice and accommodating. Our server was also very nice and just a good server in general. The food is a little pricey for mexican but it is on the plaza and the ambiance is worth it!
The Only thing that bothered us when we were there were the flies. There was this chair that attracted soooooo many flies. There were more than 5 flying around it.
Restaurant has good vibe, love the booths overlooking the street view. However the highlight of our experience was the unique flavor profile of the tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas. All were outstanding.
My friends and family met for happy hour and dinner on a Friday afternoon. They were able to make a reservation for our party of 8 with only 15 minutes notice. They were so accommodating and the food was delicious! Drinks were amazing as well! Would recommend the queso fundido, camarones tacos, and senorita drink!
I love good Mexican food in a nice ambience. Micheladas are great.
Appetizers tasty and entree’s good and you can find a good variety
When I made the reservation through open table I asked for outside seating. When we arrived I was told none was available. Then the server wasn’t very friendly. Food was good. If you bring kids w you they make no exceptions for them on the kids menu.
Food and service fantastic!
Not nearly as good as in the past. The place was really empty for prime time dinner on the Plaza. We went for a birthday celebration. Best thing was the chicken nachos. Too expensive for what you get, and it was just off compared to visits in the past.
We probably won't be back.
We were in town for a conference and ate dinner at Zocalo on Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. The place was busy, and there only seemed to be two servers working. We had a nice server, but service was extremely slow, and there were times when our server was nowhere to be found. We ordered a pitcher of El Jefe Margaritas. They served a pitcher of margarita mix, and a separate flask with about a pint of Tequila. One person dumped the whole flask into the pitcher. It was extremely strong - so we ordered extra margarita mix to cut the mixture. NOTE: add tequila to your own drink, not to the pitcher.
We had a big group (20 people) amd 3 booths. It took over 30 minutes to get drinks after we ordered them, and about another 20 minutes to get chips and salsa -- after we asked if they had chips. We were finally able to order our food after that!!! Note: the chips have a seasoning salt that is sprinkled on them, and there is a TON of salt - the saltiest chips I have ever eaten. The trio of salsas was good. I had the San Diego-style fish tacos, and they were very good - I would recommend them. Other people liked their food as well. Except for the slow service (perhaps a function of the holiday weekend and being short-staffed), I would say that we enjoyed our dinner.
We've been there before but this time it was noisy and seemed chaotic. The host sat us at a dirty table and instead of asking us to wait for it to be cleaned he simply placed our menus over the crumbs. The floor under our table was dirty and crumbs had been swept into our chairs. Our waitress was fine. We had no issues after being seated but the host kind of ruined our moods.
This was my daughters 20th Birthday. The wait staff was excellent and so was the food. We did not feel rushed we were very comfortable in the atmosphere.
The service was not good. The decor was great and had a great vibe. The food was presented beautifully but wasn’t as great as we hoped. Heard some good things about this place but noticed a lot of bad reviews in regards to the service... they weren’t joking. I’d give it another try but definitely not in a rush to do so!
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I would love to get more information regarding your experience. Please feel free to contact me at the restaurant 816-756-5555 ask for Natasha.
Serice was very slow. Took over 10 mins to get greeted. Finally had to flag someone down. The server we had was fine, but his lack of proper training and experience were evident. The food is good. The margaritas are fine. Overall a very average experience.
Great food and fun atmosphere. It was so cute! The noise level wasn’t too loud - I’d highly recommend trying it out! We didn’t even know that Monday’s were 1/2 price margs, so it made our experience even better!
Great Easter Brunch! Great service!
Fantastic food. Great margaritas. Perfect location on the Plaza.
All the windows were open, and it was windy and cold in the restaurant. LOUD Rap music, did not go with the environment/theme. We sat for 12 minutes before we got a waiter to come by to offer to bring us water. We looked around and saw very few people eating (waiting for their meals) Restaurant was not crowded at all, and you could just tell you would regret staying. We left before he came back withe the water .
Good luck Zocalo, you will need it !!
Fun atmosphere, great service, food was just ok but worth a visit
Had very slow service. Received cold coffee, spoons when asked for forks and one of our guest said seafood enchiladas had so much cheese you couldn't taste the seafood.
Sat on the patio which made for a lovely evening. The food was excellent. Contemporary decor very pleasing.
I was highly disappointed in this dining experience. It started as we walked into the restaurant. We were never greeted at all by the hostess. She stood there looking at us and waited for us to address her. Then we ordered the queso fundido and the cheese was over cooked and had a thick hard crust. Throughout the night the waiter was sparse and rarely checked in on us except to give us the check. A different server asked if they could clear the table for us. The real disappointment was that when I set the RSVP I noted that we were coming in to celebrate a birthday, and that was never acknowledged. I doubt I will be returning to Zocalo any time in the near future.
We had a wonderful start of our day, meeting friends for brunch. What great service, and great brunch deal!!! Food was perfect in taste, maybe a bit too much for brunch, but I can't complain about that! All and all, a great place with great service - just can't wait for warmer weather to use their patio!
Our service was slow, staff not real attentive, server was replacing battery candles on the wall and training another server on a busy Friday night. Food fair, we had fajitas. Meat, onions, peppers were over cooked. Would not return or recommend...
I been to zocalo a few times before with friends for drinks at the bar and it’s always been nothing but a good time !
I never been with the family in the dinning side of the restaurant! Our experience was awful! I’m in the service industry myself and I never complaint or make it a big deal when I go out to eat but our server that night (which I’m not gonna mention his name because the last thing I want is getting him in trouble) was terrible! Got the appetizers and we didn’t have silverware for at least 10 min! I had to go to the host stand and ask one of the girls to please bring us silverware and plates which she very polite brought them right away, our server took forever to bring our drinks and when he came back was to tell us that they we out of mint so we couldn’t get the mojito someone ordered! He ordered something else and finally brought all the drinks and took our order! Got our food with two of the plates wrong, which again I never say anything or send anything back but I can not eat my eggs over easy even if I try, so I had to please re cook the egg and make it over hard like I asked at the begging! Everyone was almost done eating and I finally got my entree, which it was the Mexico City enchiladas! The whole time we needed water and it was no one around to ask for it until
The server finally came back and brought a little patron bottle which fills only like 4 glasses and it was 6 of us so we had to wait like at least 10 to 15 min to see our server and ask for more again! The server seem annoyed that we kept asking for water but some of the dishes we got were a little spicy so we had to since we didn’t really order another second round of drinks because we knew they we met going to take forever! Our experience overall was very poor not because of the ambiance or the food but the service was again really bad, we were celebrating a birthday so we kind of regret going to zocalo since we didn’t have a pleasant experience! We will be back and try it again
