After weeks of hard graft, we’re pleased to announce the opening of our new look Zizzi York restaurant. It’s been totally transformed. Fresh Talent artists Abigail Borg and Roberta Muzzetta have been recreating the outside…inside. They have taken inspiration from the beloved Cathedral, the quirky architecture and vibrant charm of the city. Plus it's only a few minutes walk from the Minster, theatre and bustling shopping streets of York.

The temperature in the restaurant was freezing. We had to ask for the air con to be turned off. To be fair they did oblige but we couldn't believe they actually left it running on a cold night in December. Staff friendly and the meal was fine because we got 2 for 1. However at full price I would not go back. This is the third time we've used Meerkat there without any issues. On that basis I recommend - if you have it.

Adequate but not sensational. Salad portions smaller than expected, soup over priced and was good food but nothing to brag about and would not visit again. Service was ridiculously slow. Open air restaurant was noisy and would not be suitable for hearing deficient people.

Awful, no atmosphere, no table reservation when arrived, no massy feel, my food did not turn up, the raw pasta, then Vesuvius microwaved pasta. Staff were walking around doing nothing. Spolit our xmas night out

A change from the normal "Sunday Dinner!" Visited here, warmly welcomed! Our server was enthusiastic and involved us in all sorts of conversations. He also recommended certain food and drink items. Food tasty but rather small portions, disappointed that each item you required had a cost, dishes would have been more nicely presented if they would have had complimentary accompaniments eg side salad/veg to give dishes a colour, a finish and a more appetising look. Lovely ambience, we didn,t get too much noise interference coming from a BIG noisy party that was held upstairs!! Good of the restaurant to seat them away from normal dining! Would visit again!

Very disappointed. Celebrating the night before a wedding. Couldn't do anything special for the bride and groom. Lots of food on menu was not available, even potatoes that went with a dish and so offered just salad instead! Long wait for food. Bad customer service.

Booking wasn't received so we had to wait 30mins for the table. Service was dreadfully slow; it took 90mins to receive out main courses. I would actively encourage people to eat elsewhere.
