Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Not sure if it was because it was New Year’s Eve - but the food was particularly bad - we ordered a salad which was bland wet and cold and was clearly made in a rush - the fish spedini all the potatoes weren’t burnt and the lettuce chunks were brown, the pizza was made well - both pasta dishes were cold and looked like they had been under a heater as was brown and crispy ontop on cold Int he dish - we had a vegan with us and the vegan range was bland and not worth considering - the waitress was lovely and liked a laugh but after spending around £200 not overally impressed -

The restaurant did not have a record of our booking, which was not a good start. However, they were able to accommodate us even though they were busy. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Found the topping on pizza quite sparce of meat. The ravioli was bland and did not taste of cheese.

My twins 15th birthday . 8 of my family celebrated with them. Lovely food new menu all thoroughly enjoyed it. Took our own birthday cake which the lady brought to the table with lighted candles and plates and forks for us all to share

Food and service were good but they could not find my reservation when we first arrived. It was not until I explained that I had to have confirmation sent to Opentable that I had attended, in order to receive my reward points, that they realised they have a separate booking system for Opentable reservations. This could not be accessed until later when the Manager was able to do so. Eventually they found it and I see my points have been added. Unfortunately, like almost all of the restaurants in our area, they do not accept Opentable diners cheques or gift cards which defeats the object of collecting points, despite being able to book through Opentable. I have complained about this to Opentable in the past who said they would make their restaurants more aware of the points redemption system but I have seen no improvement of this. There is no list of restaurants which accept them, only a long list of restaurants which do not. If a restaurant joins the scheme it should be obligitory for them to accept redemption of points in the form of diners cheques or gift cards. They should at least have some incentive or encouragement to do so. For some reason none of them want to accept them and most of them do not know about them, even though they take bookings through Opentable.

Good food, but terrible atmosphere. Full of obnoxious, screaming babies and staff did next to nothing to stop them running around the restaurant.

Great meal at Zizzi in Sevenoaks. Infact we have never failed to enjoy a Zizzi meal anywhere we have been. All the ingredients were lovely and fresh and well presented too. I am very fussy about the quality of pasta and this definitely hit the mark. Finally the serving staff were very, very friendly and helpful.
