Zitz Sum is a 30 seat seasonal restaurant located inside of an historic building in Coral Gables, Florida. Our story, is a story of resilience, passion & commitment, that is translated in a plate of food, excellent service and unapologetic gracious hospitality. Our current menu is an autobiographical journey reflecting Chef’s experiences and our affinity for Japanese ingredients and technique.

We currently offer A la carte menu that changes with the seasons, and a Seven Course Tasting Menu that changes weekly. Our tasting menu consists of playful snacks and bites to get the night going, and an array of our signature and favorite current dishes. Part of the tasting menu is presented in a family style format conducive for sharing and celebrating.

Zitz Sum is recipient of a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Award, a 2022 James Beard Foundation Semifinalist for Best New Restaurant and a New York Times 2022 Best 50 Restaurants in America.

Two chefs that met over their love and passion for Izakayas and Japanese food in general and their passion for sake. As our guests for this special evening, you can expect a one-of-a-kind dining experience as these Chefs present a thoughtfully curated menu reflecting Japanese Soul Food. Seating 1: 5:00 PM Seating 2: 7:30 PM Friends in Town, a dining series by OpenTable x Visa, allows guests to experience collaborations between two chefs from different cities creating unique, limited time menus. We enjoyed Zitz Sum but struggled to find the standout dish that made this a Michelin Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years. Our favorite dish by far was the scallop crudo, but as each course was good, they weren't especially memorable. We loved the bread presentation. The wontons, which are a signature dish, were just average. The snapper was also good, not great. I wanted to love this restaurant but left feeling lukewarm.

The order of the tasting menu doesn’t make sense. The food is salty, overly complex and not as creative or well balanced as people say it is. Staff is well informed, knowledgeable and friendly but the food is lacking

I was very surprised by Zitz Sum! $75 tasting menu with 9 courses and a $30 wine pairing with about 4 cups. It was an AMAZING deal! The flavors were there!! Definitely creative and tasty! Staring with the oyster, mozzarella filled arepitas topped with crab, the steak and rice and everything else was amazing! Its a seasonal menu and it changes frequently but definitely will be back and recommend… love to try new things and anything the chef decides to throw at me!

This venue is superb in every aspect. Dishes were very creative, with distinctive flavors and very well plated. Overall, we felt we were somewhere in Europe or Asia, rarely you see a degustation menu like this one in Miami! Service was excellent as well and for sure the best value for the money in Miami! Highly recommend it!

The bing bread and summer salad were great. The tartare was average, and the red snapper was terrible - one of the worst dishes we've ever had. Flavor profile was terrible and so fishy as to be inedible. The cauliflower dish's texture wasn't great either. Cocktails (wine-based) were good and creative and service was great.

Our waitress was great. The menu was too limited for us. We wanted to share appetizers but there was no beef protein option there. The rice dish was very salty. Prices made it not worth the visit.
