Zitz Sum is a 30 seat seasonal restaurant located inside of an historic building in Coral Gables, Florida. Our story, is a story of resilience, passion & commitment, that is translated in a plate of food, excellent service and unapologetic gracious hospitality. Our current menu is an autobiographical journey reflecting Chef’s experiences and our affinity for Japanese ingredients and technique.

We currently offer A la carte menu that changes with the seasons, and a Seven Course Tasting Menu that changes weekly. Our tasting menu consists of playful snacks and bites to get the night going, and an array of our signature and favorite current dishes. Part of the tasting menu is presented in a family style format conducive for sharing and celebrating.

Zitz Sum is recipient of a 2022, 2023 & 2024 Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Award, a 2022 James Beard Foundation Semifinalist for Best New Restaurant and a New York Times 2022 Best 50 Restaurants in America.

What an incredible evening at the ZitzSum and Present Tense collaboration. The flavors and presentation were superb! The stone fruit salad was beautiful and the Bonny melon course was the simplest and most surprising flavor of the meal- sweet and spicy- it was genius. It was a lovely evening with incredible food.

Outstanding meal with impeccable, attentive service! Our party of six savored the delicious 9 course tasting menu. We chose to do our own wine pairing from the well selected wine list. Delicious!! We have shared our experience with friends who we know will love this experience! Will definitely return again!

Incredible tasting menu at Zitz Sum! Every dish was thoughtful, creative, and packed with flavor. Our server, Mitchell, was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. One of the best meals we’ve had in Coral Gables. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed Zitz Sum but struggled to find the standout dish that made this a Michelin Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years. Our favorite dish by far was the scallop crudo, but as each course was good, they weren't especially memorable. We loved the bread presentation. The wontons, which are a signature dish, were just average. The snapper was also good, not great. I wanted to love this restaurant but left feeling lukewarm.

The order of the tasting menu doesn’t make sense. The food is salty, overly complex and not as creative or well balanced as people say it is. Staff is well informed, knowledgeable and friendly but the food is lacking

I was very surprised by Zitz Sum! $75 tasting menu with 9 courses and a $30 wine pairing with about 4 cups. It was an AMAZING deal! The flavors were there!! Definitely creative and tasty! Oyster, mozzarella filled arepitas topped with crab, the steak and rice and everything else was amazing! Its a seasonal menu and it changes frequently but definitely will be back and recommend… love to try new things and anything the chef decides to throw at me!
