Zinqué - DTLA
The service was good apart from my waitress training another waitress at the table next to ours. For that price point this seemed a little unprofessional. The food was good though I would not get the ratatouille again. Too eggplant heavy for my taste I prefer more tomato. The cocktails were AMAZING, and very strong. My only real gripe was there was no air conditioning and on a hot day and at that price point I want to be comfortable. All in all I would go back, but maybe not in the summer.
Came just before a show at the Ace Theater next door. Had a wonderful time. It was packed, as many of us theater goers chose the same restaurant. I'm guessing that the restaurant is still working out the details for a crowd that all comes all within the same 30 minutes... So, not criticizing. It took awhile for the food to arrive, so my suggestion to theater goers would be to come at 5:30... That said... no complaints. After the show, we returned for coffee and dessert. The waiter remembered us, called us by name... It felt like home. Looking forward to coming again.
This restaurant is open 365 days a year. We went on the 4th of July. The staff was accommodating and kind. We ordered the steak frites (our kid loved it!), and the meat was cooked perfectly and accompanied by crunchy shoestring fries. The flatbread was like a delicate pizza - we got the mushroom one and it was exquisite. What we got was the branzino and that fish was just the bomb. We highly recommend that everyone try out Zinque - with the excellent food, impeccable service and Instagram-worthy interiors, we guarantee you'll fall in love.
Best burger in town! And the Branzino is excellent as well. Highly recommend for dinner. Unique wine list. Another great location (I usually go to Venice)
Unbelievable experience again. The best food, amazing cocktails, and that bar on the sidewalk...WIll come back for lunch.
Great food and drinks! The ambience was really nice and great service!
The food was fresh and delicious - we had a salad bowl and hamburger - both were excellent. We sat at the bar and the bar tender did an awesome job with the food and beverage recommendations, and the service. We will return.
Wow have not had an experience this bad in a restaurant in a long time. Started with drink ordering. I like to start with a nice gyn and tonic before a meal. They do not stock a gyn anyone has ever heard of. My steak was very rare when I ordered Med rare. I did not send it back because it took forever to get. We ordered a dessert but had to leave after waiting 30 minutes for it. They have a mandatory 18% tip which just adds insult to injury. The people next to us left without getting their entree. You have been warned.
The food and the service was pretty bad. The food was bland and I actually had to ask for the waiter to take it away. The service wasn’t that great either, there weren’t very many customers in there & plenty of staff, but we probably saw our waitress once. We had to flag other staff down. I really love Zinqué, my friends and I frequent WeHo and Venice. We were very disappointed with this location.
The excuse that "we just opened, so please bear with us" can only go so far - particularly when there are two other iterations of your restaurant in the Los Angeles area. Drinks were diabolically slow to be brought out; our waiter was apparently mixing/pouring the drinks, even though there were two not-particularly-busy bartenders at the bar. Only one brand of Bourbon (Bulleit) available; when I asked if there were any other options, I was given the "we just opened" line. C'mon, maybe stock your bar a little better before opening (not to mention that it has been open for a month). At this point, it seems that I'm just complaining about drinks. There was a little more to it than that. The restaurant was not a beehive of activity, yet we always had to seem to track down our waiter (to order food, get plates and utensils to share the food, to get the bill); then again, maybe he was doing double duty mixing drinks. Food was fine, but not so good that I'm counting the days until my next visit. Might have been nice to have a couple of heating lamps on the terrace in the evening. Dog friendly, so that's a plus.
Had dinner here before a concert at the Theatre at Ace Hotel. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. We enjoyed the burrata/prosciutto plate, the steak and frittes, and the salmon and quinoa. When we ran out of the excellent bread with the burrata, they quickly brought us more. The salmon was prepared well (with a dill yogurt sauce?). Enjoyed the steak with the peppercorn sauce, but wish the portion was larger. We'll be back!
Mediocre overpriced food. Would not recommend. Nothing on the menu is anything that someone with basic cooking skills cant make at home. And better.
Excellent service. Flatbread was great but the steaks were just okay.
Delicious Food, and drinks!
Absolutely amazing food. Best steak frites I have had in a long time. And the Branzino was beautiful as well.
Very fresh ingredients, and the vibe and decor were great.
Had not been to another Zinque before, but will make sure to try the other locations as well
We shared 2 tartines on Poilane bread and all of them were outstanding. Also shared 2 flatbreads and the most interesting cheese board I have had in ANY restaurant. Perfect place to socialize with a beautiful bar and beautiful people.
Will come back for lunch as I heard crazy things about Le Bowl!
WOW, that rice bowl is addictive! Had it twice already since they opened. The rest of the food was amazing as well, we had a bunch of appetizers, and veggies.
Spicy margarita was delicious as well. The space is beautiful and the patio outside, where it happens!
Zinqué DTLA is one of the best new restaurants in Los Angeles. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and flavorful. We enjoyed the famous le bowl, the grilled salmon, the cheese plate and the cauliflower. Everything was amazing! We also loved Zinqué DTLA's extensive wine and cocktail list - be sure to try the La Française. This is a great spot to come with a group of friends, a date or family. The space is beautiful - can't wait to come back!
Although we made a reservation, at 7:30 on a Saturday, there were several available tables. I was slightly disheartened when we were given the table right next to the kitchen (given the somewhat open availability). This did lead to more noise and a cramp on the ambiance, which I'm sure others haven't experienced.
We learned that they had only been open two weeks - but you would never believe it with the smoothness of the operation. We were greeted promptly both at the door and the table. We were offered water immediately. Our main server checked on us regularly - but not so much to be a bother. We were also checked on by other staff as they delivered food, drinks, or noticed something amiss at the table.
The restaurant got busier as the evening wore on, but the noise never grew above a murmur - substantially less than other DTLA spots. The food was delicious - I chose the quiche lorraine and my companion the lasagna. We both would have preferred a meat lasagna, but the three cheese lasagna was delicious - and the quiche was some of the best I've had. It was cooked perfectly and paired with fries - an odd choice (I thought initially) but the pairing of the pancetta and fries was really good. My drink wasn't as strong as I've had at other places, but my companion enjoyed the rose selection. Finally, the electronic check out process made getting the check and settling a breeze.
I will definitely recommend to others, and we will be visiting Zinque again.
Food was very bland and fir what we paid and received, could have made it all at home and better. Everything g tasted generic and blah. Food was cold when reached our table. Very disappointed since we are foodies and Wanted to try a new place.
The service on the other hand was very friendly and adequate.
Love the new location. The service was fantastic, the staff could not have been friendlier.
Food and drinks were very good – but I think it's quite a bit more expensive than it should be.
