Wonderful service and friendly staff. Specials unique and elegant. Live jazz after dinner was a treat for the family.
There pasta is unbelievable! Attentive service, will eat here again.
It was very tasty and we appreciated the complimentary birthday dessert
Great jazz. Good food. Very pricey wine. Charge for bread.
Great little place with excellent service and food. The music was really good and a nice surprise.
Terrific experience, wonderful and authentic Italian dining served professionally and elegantly. We enjoyed a quiet business conversation in a bright, clean and contemporary dining room. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic dishes, complemented by a wonderful wine list of new and old world varietals. We will return!
The cuisine was outstanding as always but we did have to wait for our plates to be cleared and offered more wine, dessert etc.
We had a lovely and very quite brunch, mainly due to a middle of the day meal and we had
the place to ourselves. (Probably because of the previous night being the Chinese New Year parade. The Eggs Benedict was perfect. It had an Italian twist with thin sliced prosciuto and San Francisco sourdough bread. The Champagne and blackberrys was wonderful as well.
I would go back and also tell a friend.
We really enjoyed the food. Had two of the evening specials. Starter of octopus, tuna and salmon. Sliced so thin. Also had the crab pasta with shrimp. We share everything and they split the main for us. Excellent
Wonderful food. Great service. Very authentic Italian style dining.
We reserved a table for 8.30pm but when we arrived, the table was not ready and we had to wait 15min for a table to be ready. The service was good but the food was mediocre. We choose this place because it had a jazz bar but it was disappointing that it was only for small section of the restaurant and we were taken to the back where we could barely hear the music
Zingari is a landmark and treasure of the City! The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is great traditional Italian with a nice wine selection as would be expected. Certainly not a restaurant for a light meal, so be ready to eat. Okay value compared to similar restaurants in the area.
We went her for my birthday celebration. In the reservation, it seemed that we would have a ‘special’, complimentary coctail. We neither received the coctail, nor a birthday cake or any sort of serving. I specifically indicated in the reservation, since it asked the reason for the visit.
Food was delicious. Wine list is exemplary. Our server (Alessandro?) was helpful and nice. However the way we were greeted and treated by the welcoming desk was not appropriate for a such restaurant.
This is our go to restaurant when going to the theater. The food and service is always excellent and the atmosphere is quiet (easy to talk) and easy. We are from New York and spend considerable time in the Bay Area. Every time we are here we make sure we go to Zingari at least twice. Never been disappointed. Always outstanding.
Lovely lunch for out of town friends. Service and ambience were excellent, as usual. Two of us had the daily special, crab ravioli, and thought the pastry was heavy - not the lovely, light one finds in many Italian restaurants - or anywhere in Italy! But, overall, we love this restaurant for its centrality, service, and food.
Great food, service and music. Everyone was very nice and friendly.
Appetizer was the best part of the meal. The main course was bland; not much flavor or nuance to the wild boar dish. My wife felt her food was plain as well. This would be okay if it weren’t for the high price of the meals PLUS the already included 20% gratuity. I’d find another restaurant if you’re looking for good Italian food.
We were seated at a table for four even though we were two which was a little awkward. We were very far from the jazz so we couldn’t hear it. The set menu was ok, but kinda pricey for what it was and nothing blew my mind food-wise.
Food was really good, so was happy about that. Had veal and burrata which were definitely quality eats. Went for the Valentines Day dinner - “prix fixe but essential an app, an entree, and a dessert with what looked like the full menu. Didn’t feel special - just forcing a price point. Service was decent, but not overly impressive, and 20% gratuity added for us and we were only 2 people. Don’t be fooled by it having Live Jazz. Most of the restaurant is separate and you don’t get to experience it. Plus very small bar.
Restaurant advertises live jazz but we were seated in an area where we could not see or hear the jazz. Front desk service poor. Food was mixed. Some courses great, others poor.
You should mention fixed pricing/price. I might have missed it, so make it clearer. I now have a certain perception about OpenTable regarding your consumer sales strategy and may not use you again because of a lack of transparency. If I knew beforehand that it was an $89 fixed price, I would have tried somewhere else.
Luckily, the food/customer service was amazing and worth it! We were not near the live jazz, which should also be disclosed . A general lack of transparency disappointed me about OpenTable. When thinking about the long-term, you should consider more transparency, because I felt ripped off. If you have a better competitor now/in the future, I would prefer them over you, because tech companies should be more transparent.
Great neighborhood gem! Service was remarkable! Staff was incredible! Food was outstanding!
I enjoyed Zingari twice during my week’s stay at the Donatello. I adored my server, the same wonderful young man, each time. He was wonderful!
HOWEVER, I do NOT appreciate anyone cleaning plates, etc., until ALL diners have completed their meals! That is RUDE.
Excellent food and great service. There is nothing more to say!
The food and the service were both first rate. It's reasonably quiet and centrally located in Union Square. We were at a conference and able to walk there and get a reservation on short notice. The server was friendly and not too intrusive and we were able to have a business conversation without any problems.
Our waiter was exceptional, almost as good as our meal. Thank you
Service was Good and the Ambiance was nice, but the food was not good, i ordered the seafood pasta and all my seafood was overcooked and chewy.
Terrific restaurant and jazz duo.
Great food and service.
Insanely expensive dinner for subpar food. They make up for the taste on the amount of food that is served. Large portions.
Don't understand how this restaurant has good reviews. First time dining here and never plan on returning! Food was very bland and served along with processed parmesan cheese-- service was very slow and extremely rushed when we did encounter a server. Overall I've had better pasta from Lean Cuisine. 0/10--- please avoid this restaurant if at ALL possible.
The food was good, but lacked in seasoning. I was a bit disappointed they did not do anything for our celebration, as the hostess asked us, and then the waiter. The table next to us received most of the attention so our service was a little lacking.
Lovely restaurant week dinner with options for a 3 or 4 course meal. Amazing food and great live jazz musicians. I will be back.
The food was good. The ossobucco was delicious and the dessert were great too. I wouldn't recommend the salmon if you do not like too sweet tomato sauce, but the salmon was "roti" and it is a wonderful experience. The ambiance was good but the music is good but a bit too loud. It might be just because we were sitting very close to the great pianist and the singer. The service was very good. I do recommend this restaurant.
Nadia provided excellent recommendations and service. The manager came by a couple times to see if we were satisfied. Our salmon was just delicious. The homemade desserts were outstanding. We visited during Restaurant Week and thought the three course meal was an excellent value.
I happened to try Zingari during San Francisco's restaurant week. The 4 course menu was perfect. It was lacking in nothing. The server was friendly and made sure everything was taken care of before I even had a chance to ask. I arrived before the Jazz seen, so I cannot speak to that. However, one of the chefs came out and greeted me inquiring about the food. There were groups and couples. I highly recommend Zingari to locals and travelers alike. (I would've gone back the next night but it was raining so decided to try something a little closer.)
We really enjoyed the jazz quartet that played for the evening; it made the evening very special. They were not too loud so you could converse and enjoy your food and libations. It made our visit fun.
The restaurant was nice, delicious food and excellent service, but with tip we paid $180 for dinner for two, which seemed a bit on the expensive side.
A great find, we loved our experience. Tony, the bartender took excellent care of us, providing us wonderful service and attention. The food was delicious, we will be back.
Absolutely terrible service.
wild boar osso bucco and a wonderful swordfish special - interesting drink (bubbly Mario) nice wine selection by the glass, or half bottles.
