Zingari Ristorante + Jazz Bar
Zingari means gypsies in Italian, and refers to the people, or nomads, who live and travel through Europe and other parts of the world. They are renowned for their rich culture and dazzling aesthetic; their songs, poetry, and dance convey mystery and romance. The Zingari people remind us to travel light and carry a smile—to be open to discovery and new delights. Cheers, a toast to Italy, and welcome to Zingari Ristorante.

Just okay, not worth the price. Risotto was more like a Spanish rice. Drinks were okay.
Overall it was not worth it, especially the 20% automatic gratuity... service and wait time was not 20% gratuity worth.
Repas très bon, mais coût global assez élevé dû aussi au fait que 20% de pourboire sont imposés sur la note 😊
Took my daughter when we went to see Harry Potter Parts 1/2. We were seated early and weren’t rushed. It’s always so good to eat there.
The food was very good and the servers were warm and welcoming. The price of the food, however, I would categorize as expensive for what you get (approx 20-30% higher). Another thing to note, the service charge was automatically included (20%, party of 2).
Overall a great option for those attending the Theater. The service was great with the staff and management having a presence. It was a bit quiet with no music (it is a jazz bar) being pumped through the speakers which I found odd but the ambiance was still nice (tables, floor plan, cleanliness, etc)
The food was delicious (we all had different pastas) and share an app plus the drink + wine list had a good selection. That being said I was surprised at the portion sizes compared to the price. I understand that we are in SF and things are more expensive (labor, food cost, rent, etc) but for approx $27-$34 per pasta dish I expected a bit more in quantity, these were slightly larger then you would expect and appetizer to be. So be aware that this meal can get costly especially if you do a pasta followed by an entree.
With the above being said everything was delicious and the service was great. It is also very convenient for theater goers and those looking for some great Italian. I will definitely be back in the future.
Food was amazing and the service was top notch.
Great service, delicious food.
Will come back, for sure
Incredible, knowledgeable, and skilled staff! The food is amazing and the atmosphere and staff make this place awesome!
Great food and ambiance but a little pricy for Italian food. I gurss Because it’s San Francisco.
Zingari is in the city, but feels like a neighborhood place. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The service wasn't speedy, but this to me actually worked in the restaurant’s favor because it had a more European vibe and I didn’t feel rushed to plow through my food. I loved the jazz trio - their music selection and volume were perfect and truly added to the overall feel. I would enjoy going back on a night they have music and hang out at the bar. One tip- ask to sit on the music side if you want to hear it. I didn’t know to do that, but the staff kindly adjusted our location.
The cauliflower appetizer and pistachio gelato were both amazing. I thought the Fetuccine Alla Zingara was not flavorful. If I was to return to the restaurant, I would not order the fettucine again.
The service and food was great but it's overpriced for what you get.
We stopped here before our SF Broadway show - and unfortunately before Zingari's jazz performance started. The maitre 'd (whose family has had the restaurant for decades) was wonderfully friendly and welcoming; the wait staff was prompt, helpful and also friendly; and the food was simply wonderful. We'll be back!
All perfect! Just missed a tiny detail, a lemon squeezer:-). Not a big deal at all.
La comida no estaba buena. La música de Jazz buena pero el volumen muy fuerte. No lo recomiendo
What a fantastic and romantic experience for my wife and I. Great food.
This is my go to restaurant when I have tickets to the San Francisco Playhouse. It's has excellent food and very good service. It's a little pricey but worth it and it's just a half a block from the theater.
This is one of my favorite spots in San Fran. It is a great place to go alone or with a date, and the music is never disappointing. Love it!
The ambiance is great if you like jazz while dining and the handmade pasta is worth coming back for. The service however wasn't stellar. Our waiter made us feel rushed and gave sub par drink recommendations. To be fair the cocktails were good just not what we had asked for taste wise. Also when getting our appetizer order wrong our waiter told us to try it anyway and we'd get complimentary wine, this might be fine for some but we'd rather get what we ordered. On the other hand, our special occasion table requests were met and the host was very accommodating. We would come back and just chalk this visit up to an off service night.
Very high class feeling however, felt as if I was rushed to leave server did not offer the average amenities; bread service, non alcoholic drinks, etc. But very nice host and polite server just seemed as if you hadn’t been there before you weren’t welcome.
The service and food were excellent. The atmosphere is moderate. Our side room was nice...but not particularly elegant. We heard the Jazz, but it was going on in another room...so a bit muffled...I don't know if you're supposed to request a seat near the music or if it's luck of the draw.
We have been going to Zingari for 15 or more years, and over that time the restaurant has been
Marco took such good care of us ! Food, drinks and ambiance were great. Can't wait to go back.
Had a wonderful experience! Service was impeccable as was the quality and flavor of the food. Perfect for our Valentines Dinner!!
Wenton valentines night. But not “celebrating “. Prow fix was over price and food was adequate at best. Deserts dry. Service was fractured between teams. Have eaten here many times in past. Tonight was a disappointment
A little overpriced for what it is, and definitely not where locals eat, but overall a good spot for tourists.
One of the most sensational meals I have ever had. Exquisite food and simply perfect service. Then the jazz was amazing as well. Not sure there are enough accolades for this dining experience. I can't wait to go back and will make this part of every trip to SFO.
Very good before Geary theater theater dining venue. Food very good, wait staff professional and solid wine list.
20% service charge added to every bill regardless of party size. The cacio e pepe was the best dish. We ordered the scallops for an appetizer. Somehow the 3 scallops tasted fine but the sweet potato mash tasted like soap. Not a hint of sweet potato not sure how that was accomplished. Scallops were $28 :(
The live jazz only serves half the restaurant. The other half is separated
We had a wonderful beet burrata salad followed by delicious salmon ragout and shortrib pappardelle. Staff is very friendly and courteous and the location can't be beat. Zingari is a great place to dib=ne before Theatre.
Bad, overpriced food. Kinda felt robbed.
The food was excellent. Wine choices by the glass and carafe were limited but reasonably good. Our server, Nikola, was excellent!!
Food was delicious. Fresh, great presentation. They accommodated vegan and gluten free choices for me too. We started with a vegan appetizer trio of roasted veggies. We gene Brussels sprouts could taste good. I had the butternut squash risotto and my husband the lamb. We share a yummy chocolate mousse torte for dessert.
We went to see a play at Curran theatre. The restaurant is only a block away so very convenient if you are going to the theatre.
As always, the food was excellent, the service delightful. My friend and I come here before going to a play down the street at the Geary (ACT), and we've never been disappointed.
Great place with live music, wonderful staff, and incredible wine list!
