Food quality was ok. Dessert was 1/2 portion.
Great service food and music. Great night out. I recommend the fig crostini and butternut squash kale risotto.
Had a wonderful time with a friend here. The service staff was funny, pleasant, and really gave some great recommendations for food to order. Thank you!
Expensive italian. Service poor, take forever to complete main entree for the table and charged 20% service directly
We arrived in San Franciso on Thursday evening and I went to Open Table and selected Zingari, what a pleasant dining experience. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, so much that on Sunday evening we came back with our friends who also loved the food and ambiance in the restaurant.
Food was very good, the wait staff was great, I would recommend this place to all I know who may visit San Francisco.
Horrible experience. Maybe it was an off night because it was a Saturday night and there was a high school reunion. Everyone seemed overwhelmed.. it took over half an hour to get drinks at the bar and the bar only has 6 seats (but the bartender also has all of the patrons of the entire restaurant to take care off we were told). Took over an hour for the food to arrive, medium rare lamb chops came medium well. Food is actually pretty good. Table next to us waited two hours for their food, gave up and left. Raj the manager and Suey the busboy were the bright spots. Mandatory 20% tip added to the bill.
Really nice piano trio. We chose this restaurant because of the live jazz, and it didn’t disappoint. Food was quite good, servers tried hard but were overmatched. The kitchen seemed to be inundated. Everything took too long. The restaurant doesn’t seem equipped to handle an extremely busy night.
We had the most amazing service there. The owner of the establishment was on hand stopping by our table and checked in throughout dinner. He was so pleasant! The food was really good.
The food was quite outstanding as was the service
I was very impressed that the owner greeted everyone
It’s so personal there
The music is fantastic
Stop by and talk to the pianist/trumpet player Bob
My boyfriend and I were celebrating our six month anniversary and I got to surprise him and pick a restaurant. I looked high and low for the perfect spot.... booked other places, cancelled, booked more places and cancelled. I was waiting for the perfect spot to hit me.
I stumbled upon Zingari and I was immediately intrigued. I once again cancelled a reservation booked Zingari and sent my boyfriend an invite. He too was intrigued. I usually miss the mark with my choices but we were both in agreement on Zingari. We loved it! We loved that we both had plenty of food options- I am vegan and he is omni. The food was delicious, the ambiance was fantastic and the staff was attentive and we never wanted for anything. I loved our waiter! He was great, had a fantastic personality and made our night perfect!
We have found our special date/ celebration place! ❤️
A beautiful evening with superb music and delicious food !
Neeraj is my college classmate and he’s the new owner. He gave us great service, as did the rest of his staff. Jazz made it a fun experience!
I've been here many times (whenever I go to a play at the Geary), so obviously I love this place. The folks who work here are all kind, considerate and efficient. The food is delicious. They make good cocktails too. It''s not the cheapest place around, but it's well worth the money
I don't go into the part that has the Jazz, but I'll bet's great too if that's your sort of music.
It’s so nice restaurant. Food was very fine. They had a good selection of wines. The atmosphere was comfortable. We enjoyed so much!
Spaghettini with meatballs were good. The bread- not so good.
It was stale and they charged me $1.50, even though I left it on the plate. The bread was very stale- did I mention that yet? The glass of wine was good though. Service was prompt and courteous. It was across the street from my hotel.
These folks figured out exactly how to get the most money for the least effort, food and wine costs. Yet charge super high prices.
Start with the Wine list. The vintage wine they claim to have in the wine list was wrong on two wines. The markup on the lousy wine that we ordered with six times retail. That bottle sells for $10. They sell it for $64!
Pasta dishes were tiny in portion size and $30 each! Not too much taste. To top it off, there is a ”mandatory” tip of 20% on all party sizes. Just 3 of us splitting dishes was $207.000!!!! This is practically theft. Plus, they let in families with screaming, noisy kids. North Beach is around the corner for fabulous Italian food, next time. See photos. Tourist trap to avoid.
I ordered a very expensive amarone, usually a very robust wine, the quality of the bottle I got was something you would find on the bottom shelf at Safeway. I sent it back, after a discussion, and got a Brunello that was recommended, but later found that they had charged me with both bottles. As it turns out, the Brunello was not that good either. So, spent over $300 for two $20 wines.
Chuck: Firstly, many thanks for dining with us. We are grateful for you sharing an evening with your new family at our Ristorante. Secondly, we are certain your memory and knowledge of what you ordered and the history behind what you is inaccurate. You first ordered Amarone. You didn't enjoy it, so we happily suggested another wine and served it. We offered the Amarone complimentary. It still displays on the check but is described as comped. Both wine's producers are quality producers.
Very friendly service and great food. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Bay Area.
Great jazz. Wonderful pasta.
Great food, as always. Convenient to Marine Memorial for dinner after events in their theater. And I can always seem to be able to get a table at the last minute.
decent ambiance, good service but food was just ok. ood was underseasoned and unremarkable, which was surprising.
Zingari Ristorante offers exceptional service and consistently great food in a variety of interesting combinations. The recommended items on the menu pleased my palate.
Staffs are so kind and we had enjoyed diner with nice music on Friday night. Staff are all handsome specially our server so my girlfriend loved him lol
Very good experience. We wound up eating at the bar as the Cards were playing our home team. Bartender Luis was nice and engaging and took a lot of pride in his work.
The food was great! My wife and I split Nonna’s Bolognese and the wild boar Osso Buca. Both were fantastic.
Shortly after our dinner was served a jazz trio started up in the bar. They were quite good and enjoyable! Our only regret is we don’t live in SF and so can’t become regulars here.
Would rate higher except no attempt is made to silence loud talkers in the Jazz room. I had to ask friends of the bartender to be quiet so we could hear and enjoy the music. People who want to talk instead of listening should be seated in one of the other rooms away from the Jazz room and bar or be told to shut up.
Service was excellent. We were greeted nicely as soon as we entered the establishment. Our waiter was excellent! He was attentive, easy to talk to and pleasant. Our meals were served promptly and quality and quantity was very good. The music was very nice and was NOT played too loudly! Overall the atmosphere was really nice. We would try this restaurant again. I also would definitely recommend it.
Too many opportunities to do better ... $1.50 for bread service when entrees are $20-$40? We ate in the quiet dining area, but there is so much hard surface that it is noisy if there is just one loud table.. suggest some tablecloths as well for dinner... something that simple would have made the experience better. Food was good, but not memorable and when you add in the noise, bare wood small table and not even being offered bread.. well, we would not go back.
Great food. Good music.
Our party of three went here for pre- theatre dining.... we shared the Brussels sprouts as an appie and then had the prawn/scallop linguine, crab ravioli and seafood risotto.... the service accommodated our schedule, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the food was very nice.
Loved the jazz trio.
I had a quiet business lunch here. The food was outstanding. The service was also very good. Nice people. Attentive.
Service was great food was great
From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family! The owner came by personally to greet us, and before we knew it, we were reminiscing as if we had known each other for decades. The wine was spot on, the dishes were so artfully put together, and all the flavors were so delicious! We were never rushed, and in fact, our waiter escorted us to the bar area so that we could enjoy the live jazz music that was just beginning. Excellent!! We will definitely be back!!!
Restaurant was billed as a jazz club - played horrible pop music much too loudly. Food was bland at best. Overheard other diners near us (also note-said diners were literally 12" from us) with the same complaint. Please don't jam people together like that for dinner - impossible to have a conversation.
This is an exceptionally nice restaurant located on the balcony level of a hotel. Very comfortable; great food and music.
Visiting from Phoenix and needed a place for entertainment and food. Enjoyed the live music and general ambience of Zingari's. Would go again.
Overall was a great experience. Our server/waiter presented an issue, but the manager cleared everything up professionally and peacefully. Would recommend to visit 👍
The service and atmosphere is graceful and amazing.
There are two sides, closets to the bar with wonderful live jazz, or on the other side that is great for quiet and more intimate conversations conversation.
The host and staff make you feel like a VIP. The menu offers a lovely selection of unique dishes
Wonderful evening at upscale sf prices
The worst experience I had in a restaurant. The pasta was over cooked and too spicy. If you want to dîner in an Italian restaurant, definitely choose another one.
