We were really impressed by the Food and the atmosphere at Zinc! We would definitely go there again! They were very accommodating with out preferences and believe me, we are sometimes picky! Looooved the duck, I am going yo have it again next time! Also the vegan options were sensational! Definitely one of our favorites!
wonderful service and food!
Zinc is one of my very favorite restaurants! The food and ambiance are always terrific. My favorite dinner is the tuna. Our waiter was fine, just not very attentive which seems to happen more often as I get older. Two women over 65 and waitstaff just doesn't respond as quickly or with the energy that they use with other diners or with couples. When I came here with my husband, service was excellent. Oh well, I'll still be back!
Nice atmosphere, good service. King Pao cauliflower was very tasty, did not taste lime but did not detract. Ribeye was cooked as per request, very flavorful. The duck confit was a great noodle dish but unfortunately the duck was completely overwhelmed by the delicious noddles. Cherries in sour cherry tart not particularly sour and rather watery. Wine prices were very affordable, and great selection. Great place.
The Food was just okay, and It was way overpriced.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable- food was delicious!
Went to Zinc for Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife first thing we noticed was the noise level so ok their busy. Ordered wine but what I liked was we never felt rushed we ordered our food my wife had the salmon and I had the bone in smoked pork chop everything was delicious. Another thing we noticed was the team work that all the staff worked together and helped where ever it was needed.
Amazing staff. Awesome food selections and drinks. A wonderful night. We will definitely be back
Excellent all round experience at Zinc from start to finish
server isabel was fantastic, made great recommendations
Always wonderful service and food! One of New Haven's best restaurants!
As usual, the food was delicious. The steak was a little too fatty for one of us. The appetizers were great. Our wine selection, helped by the sommelier, was different and delicious. This is one of our favorite places. I wish it was just a little less noisy though. But maybe that’s my age!
Excellent, attentive, unhurried service. Just the right balance of familiarity and professionalism. The dining room ambiance is serene. The tables are properly spaced for privacy. The food was delicious - fresh, plentiful, creatively seasoned & nicely presented. I look forward to a return visit.
The bar tender being extremely accommodating on replacing some starchy sides for some healthier options (I'm following a keto diet), the food was superb. The food is locally sourced and menu changes often, and the pork belly entree was tasty and went well with flash fried brussel sprouts. My colleague had the chicken and said it was phenomenal.
Convenient to theatre and enjoyed our meal.
A superlative evening all around. We dined in a busy Saturday night and the place was bustling when we arrived. Our table was ready very close to the reserved time. The waitress was polite but very friendly. And I can’t say enough about the food. We split 4 starters - duck nachos, Brussels sprouts, Kung pao cauliflower and dumplings. Each was better than. The one before. The mains were stelllar. A wonderful evening and a return visit is guaranteed.
Great innovative food. A little loud.
Zinc on the Yale campus is a place one should definitely consider for special occasions. The menu includes something for everyone including some vegetarian options. As many before me pointed out in their reviews, the drinks are a bit on the pricey side but I think the ambiance, the service balance that out a bit. What we ordered, dumplings, rice bowls, seafood paella and fondue were all great but my favorite part was the sorbet trios we ordered for dessert. I am not a huge dessert person but ordered one for the table (5 of us) to share since it was my birthday dinner. It was one of the best sorbet I've had in a long time.
Surviving in a foodie town requires perpetual reinvention. I'm happy to see Zinc continuing to evolve for the last 20 years.
Zinc is consistently wonderful. The atmosphere and top notched service are only eclipsed by the delicious food. Zinc is definitely my favorite restaurant in CT.
Zinc was a very nice place to have a nice dinner. We shred a few plates, had a couple drinks, and a couple desserts. They were all lovely. The server was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. The seating was just a little too close for my taste (I could easily overhear the table next to me). The music was modern indie and the mood was calming. I would definitely come back.
We dined early before a show. Had a gift certificate. Food is beautifully prepared, but on the pricy side. The wine was overpriced for sure. we visit a 5 star place that gives you 9oz of wine for Zinc's price of maybe 6 oz.
HOWEVER, that said, the place is lovely and the service was top notch. We loved our Vietnamese chicken dishes and the dumplings for appetizer were delicious.
Dining at Zinc is always a positive and lovely experience. The food is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and present without being intrusive. The atmosphere is relaxed and one is never felt rushed. I love this restaurant and wish I could go more often.
Impeccable service and outstanding food. We love Zinc!
Great meal, great service. Must try if you're looking for a quality meal in New Have
Always a go to place for any occasion. Great food. Never disappoints.
We had a fantastic server - Rachael - and the sommelier was also wonderful and knowledgeable. Our meal was delicious. We had 3 children with us (11, 11 & 8) - but I would not say that this is generally a “child friendly” restaurant unless your kids are comfortable ordering off the adult menu & are old enough to sit quietly & not disturb other diners.
Overall we had an amazing evening - many thanks to the great team at ZINC!
Very good food, a bit salty. Service was very good.
We go to Zinc whenever we visit our son in New Haven. It never fails to live up to our expectations. Always great service and the food is consistently very good. We love the energy and the overall vibe and the bartender makes a great cosmo. It’s not inexpensive, but we think it’s worth it.
Waitress was phenomenal with menu and with working with gluten free choices! Highly recommend for GF folks!
More than five stars! Service, including the manager, water, and waiter were exceptional. Food was fantastic, from apps to entrees. Waiter overheard my son say he thought another dessert would be better and brought it out as well, compliments of the restaurant. I wanted a special experience for my daughter's birthday and definitely got it. Highly recommend!
New Year Eve
What a wonderful place for New Year's Eve dinner. The food and service were impeccable. Thanks
Food was outstanding. Service pleasant, but a little slow. The main negative was incredible noise level. We couldn’t really talk to person sitting opposite us at a table for three.
New Years eve
Amazing food, eclectic menu, amazing service
Waiters were great! Our main gentleman waiter was fab. Attentive, informative about menu. Other staff were friendly. We got some free compliments from the chef with these pop in your mouth dessert like dish. Dessert was delicious with a small warm milkshake chocolate over chocolate cake. Yum!! Steaks cooked to mostly perfect seasoning.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Zinc! it’s an awesome restaurant with great food. The ambiance was perfect for my date night and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any and all who enjoy good food and a great time.
Nice small food place with a different blend of Asian flavors
