Excellent food and great service!!!
Great food. Fantastic service. Satisfying menu. Not overwhelming proportions. Delicious desserts. Extensive drink menu. Perfect atmosphere. Dark and cozy, trendy decor, nice background music.
Excellent service. My family goes there several times when we are in New Haven.
The restaurant has a very nice, lively ambiance. Despite being busy they seated us right away.
We had had a late lunch and weren’t very hungry so we ordered 5 appetizers for 3 of us on the waitress’ recommendation. It was just the right amount. Each dish was really delicious. Most had heat so if you don’t care for spicy be sure to ask before ordering.
The staff was very friendly and the cost reasonable.
Had a steak entree and the cut was a little fatty and the tuna with kale.Did not care for the kale perhaps deep fried and was crispy
This restaurant never lets us down. This was restaurant week so we thought we would take advantage but were skeptical after a so so experience at another restaurant last year - Zinc delivered with a great dinner - we sat at the bar over a table due to the crowd that night - easier to talk - great bartender. Salmon appetizer was excellent- excited for them to add to the menu.
Likely wont be returning to Zinc. Food was not as good as usual - meatballs overcooked and brisket overly fatty. Had a question about parking validation and front end manager tryed to employ customer service but came off condescending and arrogant as he explained that anyone can place a sign and there was no validation. He further explained the parking authority was owned by Zinc and the parking would be $4 - it was $10. Will learn to make duck nachos at home and will not be returning. Came with 5 guests for a triple birthday - it wasnt acknowledged despite my call ahead.
We love Zinc - we tried the restaurant week menu - all the courses were fabulous. We had a lovely evening.
I thought the meatball appetizer was the weakest link. They were hard and dry but the sauce was great.
The duck nachos were very good but would have liked more of the drizzle. The salmon and duck curry were outstanding. I just wish it wasn't so noisy but will go back for sure perhaps on a weeknight.
Terrible slow service. Very loud. Food good though.
A great place for restaurant week in New Haven. Tried a dish I would have not opted for on a regular night. The shrimp special was amazing!
Enjoy your new haven restaurant week with a couple friends. The service was great. The food was fresh and delicious.
Excellent food and service. Love the different types of food items on the menu and the different portion sizes available. You see things on this menu that you do not see most places. Only negative is the noise in the dining area and the tables being so close together.
The food was very good. It was our first time there, the staff was very nice. The place was a bit noisy but it was a Friday night😊. The decor was very modern and relaxing.
American food with an Asian flare. Levels of flavors that reveal themselves with each bite which usually finish with a delightful heat. Delicious and flavorful food... didn't want to stop eating! I had the salmon which was a large portion and a perfect medium rare cook. The cream sauce was light and absolutely delicious. My fiancee had the chicken and said it was moist and flavorful. Service from Rachel was spot on. She was attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back for sure!
We’ve been to Zinc several times and have always been quite satisfied with the food and the service. Restaurant is very convenient for us and has very good vibes. The food is very creative too with many dishes having an Asian influence.
Excellent, hopping restaurant across from the New Haven Green. Farm to table, creative! Highly recommended.
Zinc has been consistently our go to spot in New Haven since 1999. The food is always exceptional and the staff well educated on the menu and wine list.
Lovely. Enjoyed everything we ate.
Delicious food and drinks. A must place to visit for an excellent dinner.
Wonderful service delicious food. Will go back again and highly recommend.
Food and service was good. It took way too long for food, including appetizers to be brought to our table. That was my only true complaint,
I like the farm to table adherence thus supporting local and organic farming.
The appetizers are varied and I particularly like the Duck Nachos, and the Lettuce Wraps. My favorites, from the main dish selection, are the Scottish Salmon, the Vietnamese Charred Chicken, and the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna--all so very tasty.
Zinc has become an institution in New Haven without losing its freshness, zip and adventurousness. New menu items at lunch are welcome and my guest sampled one of them, a new ravioli to great acclaim. Certain aspects of Zinc never changes such as the efficient and charming service or the matchless wine list, by the glass and by the bottle. It's a restaurant which brings sophistication and pleasure to the city
Food and service were both incredible!
A favorite in New Haven for lunch and now for dinner! Always offering wonderful menu choices with delicious specials.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Shrimp Cobb Salad was very good. A little pricey but you are in downtown.
Absolutely, I would highly recommend! The food is always fresh, seasonal, inventive and most of all delicious. The room/ambiance is beautiful. Tables are far enough apart to provide privacy and the decoration is muted and very tasteful. Service is always excellent, attentive without being intrusive. I particularly enjoy eating at the bar which is always fun and populated with a convivial crowd. Zinc is my go to restaurant in New Haven!!
Great food, atmosphere and Service a bit pricy but still wonderful experience. Highly recommend
My family and I had lunch here and the food was delicious! The only issue I had was the waitress, she was not friendly at all and it felt like she was trying to rush us out of there. She did not smile ONCE.
Right near Yale...in the heart of it all. Excellent food (I highly recommend the gnocchi). Ambiance is beautiful.
We have been wanting to try Zinc for a while now. First tip - if they offer you the table in the window don’t take it unless you are size 00. Very tight fit in and out. Service was prompt and not overly attentive - we got the wrong check at the end of the night. On the fun side, Andrew Tow of Withers Vineyards was there, offering a flight of his wines and coming to your table to discuss - big fun! Food was excellent - very flavorful and well presented, especially the pile ok fried spinach with the tuna - like eating air! Highly recommend both the restaurant and Withers wines.
Fabulous bold flavors. Great service. Great market menu.
We've been to Zinc quite a few times over the years. Always a great meal. This past Saturday was exceptional. Matt was our waiter. Absolute best!! Very friendly, knowledgeable, funny and patient with our family. Food was spectacular. There were six of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The sommelier recommended a wonderful Zinfandel. A wonderful evening!! Can't wait to go back!
Great meal. The specialty drinks were weird and not very good. . I would avoid those and just order what you like to drink. Other than that Zinc is a great place to eat.
I took my dearest friend here for her birthday on a whim. We ordered 4 small plates (crab tacos, duck nachos, dumplings and the cheese board) and each one was more amazing than the last. Our server was fast, pleasant and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!
As usual, service and food was top notch. Nice to see the menu slightly changed since our last visit.
The creative food is always consistently prepared and we have never caught them on an off night.
Nice Farm to Table in downtown New Haven. Food was fresh and inventive. Somewhat pricey.
As a first time experience everything was good. But what I ordered wasn’t what I expected. It had a too much of everything in it and I wasn’t looking forward to it after I got it. Other than that it was a very enjoyable experience the service was great and the overall atmosphere was awesome!
